While in town visiting my former friends, I ambled in to a former haunt of mine in Cherry Creek North Chinook Tavern and was dumbstruck with wistful nostalgia (WHY did I move?) but even more, with admiration for this place. Past first glance, here lives a wise sophistication and intelligent spirit that, to my taste, serves up the best of all worlds. Uptown, downtown, across the pond, in the hood, bohemian, aristocratic, booksmart, streetsmart -- this place is just cool in every sense of the word. You wont find another place like it, because places like this are made, over time, like good wine. Denverites are lucky to have this gathering place, right here, in your back yard. Makes me want to come home more often.
