Fun Way to Spend the Day 2/9/2010

This place is huge and has many, many, many activities. You can make stuff, paint stuff, do stuff, see stuff, smell stuff, learn stuff.\r \r It is fun to see how things work.\r \r I also like the way it looks like a street inside.\r \r We were recently there for an event/party and it was amazing how there was so much to do and how bit the place it. more

A Remarkable place for kids 4/2/2007

This place has tons of hands-on activities for young kids. Their exhibits are creative. My son had a lot of fun in Bubbalogna exhibit. He just could not get enough of working with the bubbles. I also recently came to know that they also let you host birthday parties. I more

Children's Discovery Museum 10/8/2006

Our kids really enjoy the children's dicovery . We like the bubble area and the big fire ftuck that the kids can climb on. Seems like the older kids are beginning to outgrow it. more

My kids love it 7/26/2006

My kids love it here and I take them from time to time. They love everything in here and seem to always gravitate to something new each time. Food if not bad as well. more

Daughter loves this place 7/25/2006

My daughter loves this place and can't get enough. She also loves taking the light rail there and it drops you off right in front. The weekends are real busy so try to go on the weekdays. They have a food court which is nice and the food quality is okay. My daughters favorite place is the water exhibit. Plenty for kids of all ages to do for hours. They also have a couple crafts going on each day. more

Great, but in moderation 7/13/2006

My kids love going here as long as we don't go too much. They get kind tired of the same old things so it's nice they mix it up a bit with different attractions from time to time. more

fun day out with the kids 7/13/2006

The Children's discovery museum is a nice way to spend time with your children. They have all sorts of exhibits, including changing ones, that really engage the kids. \r \r It is easy to reach from the light rail. PROS: good exhibits, perfect for kids CONS: more

awesome childrens place 7/10/2006

The Children's Discovery Museum was one of my favorite places to take the kids when they were younger. Everything is a "hand on" exhibit. They can touch, interact and create. I recommend buying a season pass and going to the museum on weekdays between 12:00-5:00. more

Innovative, fun museum that's great for families 7/7/2006

We've been members of the Discovery Museum for almost 5 years and we love it. There are so many things for kids to explore and learn. We are particularly fond of the water area (bring a change of clothes!) and the fire engine at the front is an all time favorite. The exhibits are very well done and the area upstairs for very young children is perfectly designed to fit their size and interests. Don't miss the bubble area downstairs! PROS: Definitely worth the membership! CONS: more

love it 3/14/2006

This is a great museum for kids to learn and explore. My 3-year-old has a blast every time and keeps asking to go back. The museum staff are very friendly and helpful, especially to parents looking for a lost child even before you ask for help. The exhibits are entertaining, especially the water play area. It's great to have an area for pre-walkers as well. We got the membership and plan to visit frequently. PROS: excellent place for small children CONS: crowded on weekends more

Educational and entertaining 3/10/2006

Worth getting the membersihp to this place. The first time we went there, we werent sure if our kid would like it. Now, I think its great place to go to with kids. The fire truck, the bubble area and the Sesame street exhibit were really really cool. Love this place. more

Always a great time 3/10/2006

The Children's Discovery Museum is a wonderful place to entertain kids for a few hours, or meet friends for a playdate. It has a number of "permanent" exhibits, along with some rotating exhibits to keep refreshing kids' interest -- although my son's favorites are the permanent full-size fire engine and ambulance! Admission is pricey (especially since children 1 and over pay full price), so the "family" membership is definitely worth it. more

Definitely get the membership! 3/9/2006

With the wondercabinet, this museum is a great place to take your toddlers and preschoolers (I can't speak to the older kids enjoyment). Between the water play area, the sand, and the art room, my kids stay pretty enthralled for an entire visit. And did I mention the retired fire truck that is right inside the entrance. My son loves it! \r It's kind of pricey and they charge for kids over 1. The only thing I don't like about it is that they don't have any indoor tables for eating your own food. You can sit on the benches, but that's difficult with small kids who need to be strapped in to eat. You can order their food (which is typical amusement park food), but it takes a while and is rather expensive for what you get. But this is a rather minor point and I would highly recommend the museum. more

5 stars for the "Purple Museum!" 3/9/2006

Our kids affectionately call this the "Purple Museum." They love seeing the giant duck on top of the building as we get near. We have a membership, and have to go as a family, because our two kids go running off in different directions the minute we enter the place! Wonderful, stimulating exbihits, and a really big space! It can get quite crowded on weekends and rainy days, though. The membership is well worth the price, especially since members can enter 1 hour early on Sundays. more

Surprisingly fun 11/17/2005

The whole facility screams fun from the moment you see the giant purple building jutting out from the street. Inside, you'll find a wide variety of exhibits that are suitable for kids 10 and under, although older children might not appreciate the story readings and other such activities. A good place to bring your child to at least once, although older children would probably enjoy the Tech Museum more. more

Great Place for Kids 11/14/2005

The Childrens Discovery Museum is a great place for kids. Its highly educational with exhibits geared primarily with kids in mind. They also have garden activities for the kids when the garden is open so check that out. They also have a special room upstairs so babies and toddlers can also have fun. Its just a fun place and my kids ask to go back there often. more

A good place for kids 11/11/2005

Including the young at heart. Lots of stuff to see and do, very hands on. It may not work for the tweens though - they may not get past the babyish aspect (but may enjoy it if they go with a littler kid as the "reason" for being there)> They regularly have special exhibits based on children's characters - I remember a big red inflatable Clifford the dog (full Clifford sized, too) for that event. more

Lots to explore 11/3/2005

This museum is a great place for kids to run around. It is architected as a wide open space for kids to roam and explore. The exhibits offer lots of hand on experimentation. There's a nice water play area. They just added a toddler discovery area upstairs. One thing to note is due to the wide open area the displays are in, it is one LOUD place! I have to admit I always come away with a slight headache from the noise. Oh well. Children will be children. more

babies galore 10/23/2005

This is for those little tiny ones in our lives. Its kind of like the Exploratorium only for much smaller specimens. This is for toddlers. They have got hands on stuff to do which is obviously great because thats what babies like to do, its all touch touch touch. They don things like reading and singing too. You can get a membership. The price isnt too bad, but its not cheap either. Also something that all the mommoies like is that they have family (female/male) changing rooms where you can change a baby of any gender. more
