Worst. Pizza. Ever. 7/11/2011

My wife and I were craving good pizza in the Moreno Valley area. So we Yelped pizza places nearby and thought we would give this place a shot because of all the good reviews they had. We did not have to wait to be seated, this place was almost empty on a Saturday night. Before we sat down to look at the menu, the server asked us what we would like to drink. We ordered water to cool us down while we looked at the menu... then we found out they charged for the water they brought out. No big deal. It was a really creepy atmosphere inside the restaurant. Pictures of random people and bad airbrushing lined the walls. About 5 workers were standing around talking... one of them was sitting in a dining room table across from us and would not stop staring. Weirdo! The ""Chicago Style Pizza"" we ordered was horrible. Undercooked vegetables and crust made this the worst pizza I've ever had. We did not finish eating so we decided to take it home to finish cooking for leftovers for lunch the next day. We asked the lady to box it up, and she did(stapled closed). The next day I finished it off in the oven and sat down to try it out again... until, I saw a PUBIC HAIR! Right on top of the pizza was a big black pubic hair, so disgusting! I don't recommend this place at all. more

Poor Food, poorer service 12/20/2008

I was there a week before Christmas with a large party. We were neither loud nor rowdy. He told us as soon as we got there not to bother his other patrons...all three of them. Do you remember Seinfeld's Soup Episode? I actually WAS expecting him to scream NO FOOD FOR YOU and throw us out. When the food finally did arrive he slapped a piece of pizza onto our plates and barked WHO ELSE WANTS THIS KIND? I was expecting the food to be fabulous to compensate for our abysmal service. I was sorely disappointed. The taste was comparable to Sbarro's perhaps Domino's. (Only they have better customer service). Our 'deep-dish' was more like a regular pizza with a hard two inch tall lip. Waiter/Owner kept sending his minions in to watch us, as if we were going to steal his pepper flakes or something. If anyone had to audacity to ask for something (like a fork or straw) his minions were equally as inhospitable. Once half an our went by waiter/owner came and demanded plates. He did not ask if we were done he had already decided. He would come in and check his watch and walk away. We got there around 8pm and we were there for less than two hours. I personally have never been to a sit-down restaurant on a Friday night that has closed before eleven. This was my first (and last) experience as this establishment. Someone had said that's how they (Italians) are. While that's all well and good, we were not in Italy. I know from experience, the customer may NOT always be right but the customer is ALWAYS the customer. A general rule of thumb, when your food is lacking you had better have outstanding service. If you do not want a large party in your place, do not agree to having one. I'm sure the tip was included in the bill which is a good thing for him as not one of us would have dropped a single cent. If you MUST have mediocre Italian food, I assure you, this is NOT the place to get it. Pros: cheese/pepper shakers were full. Cons: rude service, mediocre food, no parking more

Food was great... AWFUL service... 5/23/2008

To start out the pizza we ordered was awesome. The problems with this place had nothhing to do with the food. We were seated fairly quickly by a waiter who took our drink order. There was one other customer in the restaurant besides us and it took him 20 minutes to get out order and bring us a drink despite the fact that they were already eating. There was from what I could tell 4 waiters and several kitchen staff at the time we were there. I watched as this strange waiter took pizza order calls on a cordless in the middle of the dining room. He became very frusterated at times and even hung up on one patron. Pros: Awesome Pizza Cons: BAD decor and even worse staff more

top-rate Italian food 1/5/2008

Whenever I am in the vicinity of Moreno Valley I make a point of stopping at Chicago Pasta House. The deep-dish pizza is very good. However, for me, the real show-stopper is their linguine with clams in red sauce; there are plenty of clams and the sauce is laden with chunks of garlic -- it's just delicious. Highly recommended for anyone passing through the Inland Empire. Pros: great food Cons: Moreno Valley location -- we need one in LA! more

The Best Pizza West of Chicago!!! 9/15/2007

The Chicago stuffed pizza is easily the best and most authentic pizza west of Chicago. Pros: The Pizza, Service, Chef, and Originality. Cons: The older building it's located in, and the drive. more

I can't believe the high score that it has attained 8/10/2006

I do have to admit, about 5 years ago, this place was awesome. The food was good, the service was good, it was a nice little hole in the wall italian restaurant. I just dined there about a month ago and could not believe that this once descent restaurant had turned so bad so fast. It has remained with the same management since it's opening but the way they run the place has downgraded drastically. There were termites all over the windows, spiderwebs that have had to have been there for at least a month and the food was horrible. They changed the recipies and started using very poor quality products to make the food and you can taste it. About 5 years ago, I could see this restaurant getting a good review but now, no way. more

Best Chicago Style Pizza West of the Mississippi. 6/21/2006

The stuffed pizza is just about, if not as great as the pizza you would find at Gino's East in downtown Chicago. Service is a bit slow but well worth the wait. The place itself is nothing fancy but it's the ""hole in the wall"" restaurants where you find the best food at times. Pros: Great Value. Great food. Cons: If at all possible should relocate to a different area. more

Day and Night difference 6/27/2005

I thought the chicago pasta house was great the first time I went on a romantic evening with my husband, then we went for lunch with our one year old child. The service was terrible we sat for 30 minutes without a menu then the waiter brought us an old, sticky, and dirty high chair. I was extremely pissed off. We just got up and left. It was nothing like the service we got in the evening. Pros: good food Cons: crowded at night, terrible day service, bad area more

True Italian Cooking - West of Chicago 4/26/2005

Delectable! At Chicago Pasta House, Dino has retained true to Chicago with his authentic Italian cuisine. Upon arriving at Chicago Pasta House, you feel right at home with the cozy ambiance and friendly service. His Chicagos Original Famous Stuffed Pizza is the ""Best in the West."" You cannot compare to any other unless you've tried this pie. Other dishes include: Veal Scaloppini, Linguini Pescatori, Stuffed Eggplant, and my favorites Fettuccini Alfredo in a white wine sauce and Spaghetti with Mushrooms in Angel Hair Pasta the way spaghetti should be served. For the large groups, I highly recommend the Godfather Especial - A large pot of Ciopino overflowing with crab legs, shrimp, bacalla, lobster, calamari, scallops and fried fish and vegetables, it will feed 5-6 people. To put it simply this is the best food in Southern California, at the best value, anywhere. Pros: Inexpensive, Great Atmosphere, Ample Parking more
