Felt safe and secure.?? 8/27/2010

Booked this hotel for its convience to Hyde Park area. Spent three days, two nights in this more than adequate hotel. Staff was pleasant, courteous, and helpful. Beds great. Slept like a log after sightseeing all day. Internet worked perfectly and continuously. We were surprised to discover that room cost included on-site parking, which in this urban neighborhood is at a premium. Room was clean and had been refurbished within the last couple of years. Our room on the north side had beautiful view of the lake from the big window, but was not noisey as it might have been overlooking Lake Shore Drive. Public areas were being reorganized and exercise machines were all over the lobby. Good restraurant on-site. Wide variety of ethnic eating options available in the Hyde Park neighborhood. Seemed to have been a flood on the 2nd floor and that area was being cleaned. Felt safe and secure. Not perfect, but certainly not the hotel others have complained about in the past. more

giving credit where it is due 8/25/2010

After the reviews I read about the Ramada Inn, I was afraid to stay there, but I had l already paid my money and it was within my budget. I was pleasantly surprised at the superb customer service(especially Angie) and the new manager(unfortunately I cannot remember her name). Our room was clean and the staff was incredibly nice and accommodating. \r \r Everyone has a negative experience somewhere no matter how exclusive the hotel is, but when you have a positive one, how about writing about that and giving credit where it is due!\r more

Great bargain 7/13/2002

If you need to be close to the University of Chicago Hospital, this is the place to stay. While it is definitely not a luxury hotel, the rooms were clean and the staff were very accomodating. The direct shuttle to the hospital was ""worth it's weight in gold"" to us, and Gordon, the driver, was an absolute treat. Very personable. The food in the dining room was excellent, and the wait staff were tremendous, especially Mark. Another bonus was the free parking. We definitely will stay there again.
