Always a beer of the day on sale. Like that a lot. The burgers are the best. Better than CityGrille. Better than My Brother's Bar. Better even than fancy steakhouses (Elways, etc...). Think I'm wrong? I'm willing to continue to try the competition... tell me what I'm missing..... So for my birthday last night we decided to stay local and head to the Cherry Cricket. After having a good first experience at this semi-dive bar we decided to head back. The first of the many turn-offs to this place happened when one of the girls we were with (28) had forgotten her id, so instead of her heading back home she just decided to not drink at this place. UNFORTUNATELY the staff at the cricket did not ""trust"" us so they had one person at all times stand in the corner of the outside patio and shadily watch us. Needless to say it was rude and did not allow anyone to fully enjoy themselves. Things like ""dont try anything"" and ""we'll be watching you"" made us feel as though we had done something wrong from the second we arrived. The night ended when the girl we were with was informed she had to leave at midnight bec/ they were no longer serving food and she was deemed underage. This bar has great ambiance, and it located in my favorite Denver neighborhood. We watched the soccer finals a few years back the first time I had been there, and it was a perfect spot. The drinks were good, plenty of TVs to watch the action, and an overall jovial crowd made for a grand time. Cherry Creek dissolved away, and we were in England throwing back a few pints with our best buds. The only drawback was lack of parking in the area. Seems mellow and laid-back, especially for the Cherry Creek area, with decent burgers and the like. Crowded. Parking could get tricky here. If you want to spend a night of dinner and other activities in a less yuppie-fied area, you might want to try something closer to downtown Denver or west and northwest Denver. more

This is one of my favorite places to get a burger and a brew. I have eaten here several times and the wait times have always been reasonable, and the food fantastic. Remember, that it is bar and everything will really be ok. I always get the Cricket burger with smoked cheddar and some fries or onion rings to share with everyone. While the food is well done, the service makes the experience not worthy of repeating. I even gave the Cherry Cricket a second chance and once again they blew it. The second time we didn't even actually eat there. We stood at the door waiting for someone to seat us for ten minutes, we were completely ignored by every member of the wait staff for that entire period, not one word was spoken to us even though we were frequently walked right by. And when the dim witted hostess finally arrived, with no explanation or apology, she asked us if we wanted to be put on the list, as though maybe we were standing there for our health, only after asking the people who had walked in the door right as she walked up (as in ten minutes after we did). I don't mind there being a wait on a Saturday night, but the complete lack of competence is inexcusable. Their wait staff leaves much to be desired. more

It may be a dive, but the burger is honestly the best I've ever had. Any aficionado of burgers MUST try this. I go white cheddar and mushrooms medium rare with some queso and chips to start.... make sure to douse the queso with Cholula! more

I hate to tell people about this place because it's crowded enough already. I am the world's expert of chicken wings and my husband of burgers, and this is best place for both. Good prices, even better food, and more beer than you know what to do with. The people watching is great since it's the closest thing to a dive bar you can get in the uppity Cherry Creek area. No pretension here! Seriously, we've gotten all our friends hooked and we don't even live nearby! A down to earth crowd in the heart of Cherry Creek. Is it possible? Yes! Nothing fancy, nothing over priced just good food, drink, and crowd. Haven't tried the burger yet, but the wings were fantastic. I like going here to hang out with friends and kick back a couple. Everytime I am there, it's packed! This, by far, is the best burger in Denver. You cannot beat the price, either. Not once have I felt neglected by the Cricket wait staff. All in all, great value. There's a reason this place is famous. more

I checked this place out a the other weekend because I heard about it on the news as having the best burgers in Denver. It was a Sunday evening and it was PACKED in this place. It took us a few minutes to find a table among the screaming children and the amplified conversations struggling to be heard over the music. The service was bad. Very slow & it was so loud in this place it was hard to place an order. I understand they were busy, so maybe another waiter or waitress on staff would have been a wise choice. However, I asked for a large ice water and that's what I got. It was HUGE! A+ on the drink sizes! I took one look at the menu and was seriously disappointed. The burgers, burger toppings and fries are all a la carte. I paid over a buck for a measly 3 thin slices of avocado to add to my burger & fries that ended up costing about $10 and I only got two toppings. The fries were perfectly crispy and well seasoned, they tasted great! The burger was so greasy it was dripping through the bun which made the bun soggy. It was gross & messy but regardless of the mess, it did taste good. We sat at our table after we ate for what seemed like an eternity of our waitress ignoring us and after FINALLY flagging her down we were able to pay and get out of there. I don't see myself going back. If you're a rich Cherry Creek yuppie who thinks it's ok to spend $10 on a HAMBURGER and need somewhere to take your crazy children, this is the place for you. I have been to the Cricket 3 times. I think the burgers are over rated. I find them to be too dry. Like chewing leather. I think to be dissatisfied 3 different times and to not have a good experience there, I will not be returning. I guess I just don't see what the deal is for best burger. I have had better burgers delivered via Mama Mia's. more

Burgers, like pizza's are subjective things. One person may like a greasy, messy burger. Another may be about size or texture or what the burger comes with. Don't get me wrong, the burger was awesome, and the beer selection is good. I was in the area with some time to waste, so I decided to pop in there for a bite eat. It was a good atmosphere and everyone was friendly. I ordered a simple burger with fries and one beer. I was quite impressed with the burger, but when the bill came, it cost me a whole Jackson ($20) after tip. All I had was a burger, fries, and one beer. Seemed a little pricey if you ask me. So I would definitely recommend this place, but I'm just kind of curious how they classify this as a ""Cheap Eat"" on Citysearch. more
