Charm City Burger Company

Charm City stole my heart. The food was so good from the enormous burger to the tater tots finished up with the best fried oreos served with cookies and cream ice cream (better than the fair). The people who work there including the cooks were so nice and concerned if we were happy with our meals. I love little places like this in comparison to the commercial restaurants that dominate South Florida. I will definitely be a regular. more

Stopped in for lunch on Friday. I walked into the smaller than expected Charm City to a wall-to-wall crowd. There stood a long line of folks waiting to order all of whom were hoping to grab a table. \r \r A relatively small line up of burgers was not an issue because you can dress the burger with add-ons. I grabbed a Volcano Burger with hand cut fries and the last Hop Devil IPA in the house. They have a pretty big selection of microbrews which is a big reason why I wanted to check out the spot in the first place. The burger is greasy, but you cannot expect anything more from an oldschool burger joint like this. Expecting more would be naive, Wanting more after you leave means you didn't take full advantage though.\r \r I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch at the lunch counter listening to a decent soundtrack of mixed Led Zeppelin, Black Angels, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, etc. The whole experince made me feel like I was back in Little 5 Points in Atlanta. \r \r If I were to make one gripe, it would be that if you want a second beer or anything else after your first long turn through the order line, you may just be out of luck. I sat at the lunch counter close enough to the cashier that I thought I might be able to get a second without waiting again. Couldn't get his attention. So I wolfed down my jalapeno topped burger with a single beer. I'm a psuedo tough guy, so I was okay, but do yourself a favor and order 2 beers when you go through the first time.\r \r Not really a family spot, but I'll gladly go back for a solo lunch or with a buddy or the wife. Gotta try the Greek burker of ground lamb and feta next time. more

After seeing this place advertised as winning a "best burger" award, one presumably has rather high expectations. I ordered the emperor burger and I have to admit I liked the idea of aged gruyere and a truffle aioli. Upon first receiving the burger, you could notice an unsightly pool of grease so much so that the bread it was served on was dripping with it. The smell of truffles was apparent, but it seemed barely used on the burger. I wasn't sure if they were trying to conserve the truffle oil or what, but for about $11.00 for a burger most people would expect a bit more bang for their buck.\r Also ordered the cowboy burger for my companion and then it was clear that the unsightly oil pool around my burger wasn't with every burger.\r The staff was nice but the soda fountain machine was out of order and burgers on the menu weren't available.....I worked in a few restaurants in my time but c'mon.... It became clear from the staff that this wasn't the first day they were out of an item. \r Overall, probably won't go back or recommend it. Still feeling the grease slide down my throat- gross! Didn't eat all my burger and thought it was way overpriced for what you get. CAN'T BELIEVE THIS PLACE HAS BEEN AWARDED FOR BEST BURGER BY ANYONE! IF THIS IS THE BEST, I'D HATE TO SEE THE WORST! more

Great local burger joint tucked away in a hole-in-the-wall type location. Amazing burgers and shakes. Good selection of local brew beers from around the country. Good vibe here. Check it out! more

Gotta love the Charm City Burger Company... had a fabulous burger (The Cowboy) with awesome fresh fries, and a cold beer... have to add, love that they carry microbrews and craft beers! Everything we ate was fresh and delicious... The peppered bacon gives the burgers a nice bite to them. They have a nice variety of burgers to choose from, from a simple cheeseburger to a great kobe beef with gruyere, mushshrooms, and truffle oil... not super expensive, and the service was friendly and fast. A definite repeat! more

The burger was awesome. Super fresh bun and veggies. The fries were excellent. I would go back anytime I wanted a burger. more

However they do it, they have it down. The place is a dump, but the burgers are delicious. more

we have been eating at charm city over the last few years, and all i have to say is that it keeps getting better. keep up the good work. for the money it does not get any better . more

My wife and I went to Charm City Burger Company after reading the great reviews here. The place was dirty, the burgers were not good, and the fries were not good either. They mixed up several orders, took them back into the kitchen, changed the condiments, and sent them back out. I have no idea where they got the name "Charm City Burger Company"! Don't believe the reviews! more

My wife and I went here today Friday. I have to say that I agree with JC. I like a good burger and had my hopes up for a good one here. Would not recommend the burgers or the hand cut fries....the beer was good!! I don't like fast food, but save your money and go to Wendys. more

Well first off to totally disagree with the review by JC; the food was fresh, the sweet potato fries I got looked hand cut and tasted fresh, and I am not a family member of anyone that works there. This was my first time trying the place out. Also if you click on the profile for JC and read another review they wrote it's almost word for word a total criticism of the pastry shop. JC = No taste and a total grump. Probably a snow bird, I wish they would just stay up north like most S. Floridians feel.\r \r I had the Bahn Mi burger, made of Vietnamese pork and shrimp, TOTALLY DELICIOUS.\r \r Nice variety of beers, not just Buttweiser. Nothing like a good burger AND a good beer to go with it.\r \r The girl working the counter, Brooke I think her name is, totally nice and knowledgeable about their food, very personable, the kind of staff that makes a small hole in the wall place friendly.\r \r I'll be going back for sure. If you haven't been there, go. more

I found none of these reviews to be my experience. I am wondering if they were written by family members. My husband and I went there today (Sunday). We found nothing special about this place. Not the burgers or the fries. The hamburger bun was dry and not fresh. The fries didn't look or taste fresh cut. The appearance of the place was not good. The young male server had long messy hair and a lip ring. His personality left much to be desired. My husband and I were very disappointed. We went there today because we took the advice of these reveiws. Also, most of the food items mentioned on this site and all those photos of special burgers were NOT served at this location. I asked for the Philly cheese steak burger and he didn't know what I was talking about. This burger was shown on this site! The only item we found to be ecxceptional were the onion rings. more

Amazing burger & sides. We live right around the corner, and kept passing by. Stopped in one night & now we are hooked along with our whole family. Truly the best burger in S. Florida- must try! more
