Today was my very first time visiting charm city burger and I must that the food is great but "little girl" with black/burgundy hair was very rude. I told her this was my first time here what would you recommend....she totally ignored me (REALLY) I don't know if was because I was black but she was rude to another black person that came in to speak to the manager. I would LOVE to come back because of the great food but you need to hire more friendlier people to take orders from customers. more

This was the most pathetic restaurant experience I have had anywhere in recent memory, maybe the last decade. I had heard about Charm City from this board and others, and am always in search of a good burger, so I decided to detour a little on my way north, and pick up a burger to go. Major error. I really don't know how this place stays in business.\r \r The counter staff was useless in answering a few simple questions, so I confined my order to the most basic, a burger, medium rare, no cheese, no anything. You are given a number and told to wait. I appreciate that they are cooking to order, but it is only burgers, and the place was not that busy. So, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, other numbers are being called, and I am still waiting. The numbers they give you are not in order [for reasons best known only to Charm City], but I went up to the counter to inquire, and was told curtly, that "the numbers are not in order." I told him I knew that, but people who came in after me seemed to be getting their food.\r \r After a few minutes, he came over and asked for the number I had. He then went into the kitchen, and told me mine was the next one up. But then I saw him go back to the register, and start riffling through the receipts, obviously looking for my order. I confronted him and asked whether they lost my order. He lied again and said, "no," but then asked me what I ordered, and disappeared into the kitchen. In the meantime, the kitchen called two other people who got there way after me. He then came out, and asked me how I ordered it cooked, and at that point, I was running really late, having wasted over a half hour on their incompetence and lying, so I just demanded my money back and will NEVER go there again.\r \r You might have thought that at this juncture, someone in charge would have tried to remedy the situation, and make an obviously and rightfully upset customer happy. But, then again, this is Charm City, where they don't give a crap. I even told them on my way out the door that I post on numerous food and restaurant related boards, so here is the Charm City story in all of its splendor. Go at your own risk, but don't say you weren't warned.\r \r While I was sitting there for so long, I was able to observe other people and the food. The burgers looked unnecessarily greasy, and overly gloppy with toppings. I saw several people just losing large globs of stuff as they tried to eat, and heard the people next to me complaining about the same thing. And $3.00 for about twenty french fries, or $4.00 for tater tots? You have to be kidding. For burgers of this genre, I will happily stay a customer of Char Hut, where at least I am watching my food as it cooks, and I don't have to worry about rude, inept and lying employees. more

I don't get the bad reviews of charm city burger! I'm a vegetarian and love their hippie burger with a side of tater tots...great and inexpensive. Try this place out for yourself! more

We read all the reviews before our outing to Charm City which is what we do before we go anywhere. The place was a cute small hole in the wall which we normally dig. The place was full of guests or at least thats what we thought until we realized they were all just friends of the employees. This is a place of business NOT a hangout! My husband and I both ordered the Volcano only difference was he added an egg on top of his. Both burgers were oily, greasy and not fresh at all. They claim that there ingredients are local... I call BS. Maybe the local frozen section at the local supermarket. Why call this burger the "Volcano" when there is absolutely NO heat? Pickled jalapenos have far less heat then fresh raw ones. A very disappointing burger. Now lets talk about their sides. What a waste of money. Both the onion rings and french fries tasted like they came from a frozen premade package. We will never go back there to eat and will pass this on to our friends and family. I suggest if you want to stay in business change your ingredients to fresh local like you claim instead of cheap processed and frozen! more

Been here a couple times, place is cute, good veggie burger believe it or not. They do serve Tater Tots wich are good, hard to find and reminds me of my days in elementary school . its better than eating at a fast food joint, horrible service like most restarants in south florida, could be a little cleaner like most restarants in south florida but i would go back ! more

I read about this place a while ago on NewTimes and BurgerBeast, then finally one day last summer after knockin back some cold PBR's at the beach me and my buddy found ourselves at CCBC enjoying some amazing burgers. My usual order is Cowboy Style with Tater Tots and a Cherry Coke. Sometimes the bacon is a little too crisp aka burnt but usually it's on point. Everytime I'm back home down south I try to stop by at least once.oh yeah and the music in there is great, in one sitting I heard Oberhofer and Best Coast! more

Don't be fooled by it's appearance, this place is amazing! This little hole in the wall full of hipsters has the best burgers I have ever eaten. You can actually taste the seasoning in the beef which lends itself to an out of this world burger experience. The generous servings of fries and onion rings you get with the combo meals makes for a very satisfied customer! Didn't even have room for a fried twinkie!! Caution: this place gets BUSY, so be prepare to wait up to 20 minutes for your food. more

This place has some amazing burgers! They can be a little greasy at times, but they have a very distinct taste to them and are very enjoyable. The place could be spruced up a bit, but the food is excellent especially for take out. more

I read the reviews below, and I totally don't work there or even know the people there, so my opinion about this place is not biased. Me and my boyfriend decided to check it out while ago, and walked the street from his condo to there, and ever since we walk down to Charm City to grub down on some real burgers. Granted the burgers can be greasy, but have you ever thought about that beef contains fat? It's not like it contains lean fat like turkey or chicken. The price is a tad bit up there, but you get a lot of food for ten something dollars when order your burger as a combo. Every time I have gone there, I never was able to finish my food because there is so much food! If you like your burger with heat, I definitely recommend the Volcano burger; it's a monster! The restaurant itself doesn't look dirty; it's clean. It doesn't look like the Cheesecake Factory, it just looks like a regular restaurant by the beach. The vibe is chill and they play great indie rock music. The staff is friendly; you order at the cashier and you pick up your food at the window like fast food style and choose a table to sit at. I have the no complaints, never been disappointed, and will continue walking down the street when I'm craving for an awesome burger. more

Finally went there to have what I hoped would the best burger in town, to say that I was disappointed is an understatement. The place looked very dirty and smelled bad. The burger was over seasoned and extremely greasy. more

Charm City Burgers you have three new fans, not that you need it..lol. \r \r During School Spring Break some fathers take their kids to a zoo or even museum, not me. I took my kids on The Best Burger Tour 2011. I took them to four burger places in four days and the winner is Charm City, hands down. \r \r We had two cowboy burgers and one plain burger served with fries and onion rings. My son had a chocolate shake, my daughter had water, and I had a Magic Hat Circus Boy. The burgers tasted like they were cooked at the best backyard party you ever attended. Better yet, biting into this burger tasted like July 4th and Memorial Day BBQs in my mouth. Just good $hit. The kids loved the fries and they also reminded me of this old raw bar that closed years ago called Half Fast Raw Bar on Commercial Blvd near Dixie Hwy. Skin on cut potatoes, salted and fried just right. The onion rings were standard to me, not the best but who cares. My son loved the shake and the beer was very refreshing. I've never had this beer before which is shocking...lol. Nice clean taste with no aftertaste. It was made with lemongrass, but it didn't taste like lemongrass, but man did it go down easy and smooth. \r \r Ambiance; DIVE all the way. The reason why I knocked it down a star is because the parking blows big time. We parked in the Publix parking lot about 200 feet behind the restaurant. I'm sure they will outgrow this place and find new digs to help with the parking gig. Service was very good. The guy taking my order recommended the beer to me so he is employee of the month in my book. \r \r Now Mr. Charm City Burger who is gonna pay for my gas even time my kids beg me to drive here to eat your delicious Holiday BBQ Burgers in my mouth? Damn you:) Of course like everyone else we will be back thank you for a great meal. Remember to tell them Dan sent you and Stay Hungry! more

We have been there twice and I'm hooked! burgers are amazing, fries are OK..but the burgers kick some serious butt. My only suggestion if you're going to get the emperor burger, request it on a regular burger bun, because the bread they use gets really oily..the place it's a shack, but they really got it going on...can't wait to try their milkshakes! more

I'm an islander - lived here 10 years now. Go to the Whale's Rib for seafood and CHARM CITY for burgers! I really like the flavor of the meat - they grind it fresh and blend in some veal and/or brisket - it's great. They make it EXACTLY the way I want it. My kid loves the sweet potato fries. Forget these reviews - read the newspaper and critics reviews. All in agreement - Charm City iS bangin' more
