Century Roof and Solar

Integrity. Honest and friendly. this is a wonderful roofing/solar company. I had a roof installed by them recently and they did a great job on the installation (as far as I can tell, as I am not a roofer). BUT I can talk intellegently abou the whole experience with them. Tony was great. very personable, friendly and polite. He really impressed me with his honesty and integrity. He talked me out of a more expensive product, and he counciled me to wait on Skylights (I was planning to buy 3 (and I will later from him)). He reported that they had found dry rot in a rafter after removing the roof, and then quickly corrected that, when he found out it was just a little peeling paint (other contractors would likely have jsut replaced it, what do I know?) also when the manufacturer sent 2 differnent lots of shiingles, and the colors did not match, he had his guys rip off the unmatching shingles, and replace it with the material that matched, even though the manufacturer told him that it would "even out in time, we can change it later anyway." he did not settle for that and always impressed me with doing the right thing. Century is a bit more expensive than a typical roofer. but in my opinion they are WELL worth the peace of mind that comes from a company with such high standards, and does such a quality job. (the roof looks GREAT as does the new gutters and down spouts). His guys kept my property nice and clean, always orderly put things away out of sight at my house (around the side yard, nicely stacked) and treated my place with respect. all in all a great experience. if you are looking for a great person to do business with, and a Fanstic and worry free roof, talk to Tony at Century. more

I couldn't be happier with my choice in roofing contractor. I'm always looking for ways to improve my house and I was driving home from work one day when I spotted Century Roof and Solar working on a neighbor's gutters. I later asked my neighbor if they did a good job and she was very pleased so I gave them a call. They came out and recommended several the "Villa" tiles for my house. Got to work right away and finished fast. Roof looks flawless. Very pleased more

I'm writing after the recent Northern CA rains to let you know how pleased I am with my new DuraLast and MonierLifetile roofs. Now, everyday that it rains, I just smile. I was a bit concerned about replacing our 80 yr-old tile roof and losing the old-world charm of our carriage house. However, with Tony Diaz' guidance on product selection and construction techniques, we now have the look of an old-world estate house instead of what used to be the less flamboyant carriage house. The Barcelona 900 S-tile is gorgeous and the custom look created for the hips and ridges looks fabulous. Equally dramatic is the new copper gutter that was somehow included and still within our project budget. Finally, although I had initial doubts about using DuraLast for our flat roof carport and roof skylight area, now I couldn't be happier. Not only does it look great with it's clean lines and seams, it has the longest guaranty of any flat roof product I looked at and that gives me peace of mind. Making smart choices about the right products is directly attributable to Tony's advice and guidance early in the project, but it is the quality and professionalism of Tony and his crew that motivates me to post this letter. I didn't think our house was going to be a particularly easy project, but my expectations were exceeded every step of the way. For those folks trying to figure out who to trust in the roofing business, I recommend Tony Diaz and Century Roof & Tile. more

I have no complaints about Century Roof Tile. The professionalism and expertise was obvious when I first spoke with them on the phone. I explained to them that I was looking for a new roof and new gutters. They explained to me the different benefits of the different styles of roofs and gutters and helped me see which one would work best and look best for my home. I went with the grand sequoia shingles with some copper gutters that look amazing! Century Roof did an outstanding job and would highly recommend. more

Tony came out and did an analysis of our electric use and what we wanted to achieve. They showed us the new solar panels that replace the roof tiles and are in several colors that match the roof. We chose the brown tiles. We have to point out that we have the solar tiles to most people. Because the company was a primarily roofing company for many years, before adding the solar part to their company, they are very knowledgeable about roofing and any problems! They do a good roof inspection and remove the old tiles and completely replace the wood strips and the protective paper under it. This was done for the complete area where they are adding panels. Tony was very helpful with the PG and E rebate forms. We received a around $4500 from PG & E. In addition, we received a 30% tax credit. The work was done with care and they cleaned up every day. It was exciting the first time I saw my electric meter go backwards! I have had my share of bad contractors, but with Century Roofing and Solar we had no problems. I have recommending the company to anyone who is interested. The job was done with skill and efficiency. During each phase we were kept informed. The design was approved by the city and the Fire Department with no problems. We were up and running in a reasonable time. more

We hired Century to fix a leak in our roof. They told us that there were three options for repairing our roof, one of which included replacing the roof. We opted for replacing the roof because we were sick of the leak and didn't want to have to think about the roof again for a long time. They guaranteed that the new roof would fix the leak. Century put the new roof on, which looks good. Sure enough, however, with the first rain the roof was leaking again. It turns out that we did not need a new roof at all because the water was coming in from some exposed beams on the side of our home. In fact none of their proposed fixes would have fixed the leak. To add insult to injury they wanted to charge us for the ultimate repair - which did not cost anywhere near the $20k we spent on a new roof we didn't need. In fact, we are still fighting with them to get them to fix the leaking area. more
