Section 8 living at luxury prices 5/15/2010

\r Place looks better in pics - Management nice until you sign the contract; Poor cable / internet service due to outdated wiring; No ventilation in bathrooms; High electric bills 250 to 300 av per month - (as a result of very leaky windows and old A/C units); Very outdated fitness equipment; Staff enters apartment without notice; grounds crew fires up blowers and mowers before 7 am on weekends and have no regard for cars in their path; garages are carports with doors; VERY LOUD noise from Instestate 91; Elevators old and break often; Snow removal crews pride themselves on blocking your car in; Security is a joke- they do drive by's and do not even stop - refuse to take complaints - refer you to police; Looks like Section 8 housing with all the junk and clothes hanging to dry on balconies; Laundry rooms are NASTY- machines are inefficient, old and expensive (cash card inconvenient- refillable at clubhouse during work hours only); Club house is not for residents use -or for rent - just for show; Ask how many people have died in the indoor pool-Unsafe - no attendant; Rocky Hill PD on site often; On the bright side - Tennis courts are new; Convenient location; Great pizza at West Side Pizza. Oh Yea - Not a place for anyone who does not appreciate Indian culture. Majority of residents are Indian. Sandles and shoes all over halls. Powerful odors of ethnic cooking and B-O overpower common areas. Children run and play in hallways and common areas -yes, indoors! Quite a different culture as a whole. Sign should boast: ""Section 8 living at Luxury prices""\r Pros: Convenient location Cons: old - outdated more

Not worth aprtment to stay 8/4/2009

The apartment is not worth for the price. The staff is very rude and arrogant. The property manager does not care about any thing. The aprtment utility bills are also very high. It costs average $300/month. If your neighbors, below and top of the aprtment is vacant you can expect even bigger bills. I saw bills like $900 during the winter month for one of my friend. Bathrooms will be leaking and management does not care about that. It sis totally useless apartment. Dodn't be fooled by the initial treatment. Pros: Schools are good Cons: Old Appliances, Poor painting, Noise, Rude and arrogent mgmt more

Not worth the price 6/11/2008

I have to Echo everything said above, there is a lot of water damage by my windows, rain leeks in, appliances are from the 80s, and barley work. It is LOUD, buildings, parkinglots, a lot of white trast driving their motercycles around the parking lots and yelling at all hours of the night.\r \r Pools are closed too much, and when they are open, parents just dump their kids in them and all they do is yell.\r \r \r Century hills is very expensive for what they offer, oh yeah, good luck trying to get something fixed. Pros: Near highway Cons: Loud, messy, in need of repair, pretty much everything more

Century Hills Apartment Complex in Rocky Hill, CT 4/24/2008

Our initial concern with the apartment was the extreme cost for such a primitive apartment (good space, but old appliances, messy painters left paint on the brick, plug sockets in the wall lop-sided, etc) however we took it anyway because the staff was initially friendly, it appeared safe and clean, and had good amenities available. Once we moved in it turned sour. The indoor pool is closed more often then open, our carpets were stained upon arrival, chunks of the ceiling plaster are falling down, and worst of all we found mold and mushrooms growing and have been stonewalled by the property manager, and the rest of the staff, about fixing it. We have tried to talk to anyone working in the main building, and everyone has told me they cannot help me, only the manager can, and the one day I spoke to her she said she would, however she has been unavailable since. I requested to simply transfer apartments due the problem to allow them to handle it however they wish, and I was denied this opportunity even though three days before the property manager had told me we could work it out. Everyone has been very rude and not helpful. The maintenance crew is sloppy and when replacing our toilet, left a mess, and we were not even notified they would be doing work in our apartment or that they would need to be in it. \r \r Everyone working here, since we moved in, have been very unprofessional, rude, and not helpful. I would never rent here, recommend renting here, or at another Capital Management building, ever again. Pros: Relatively quiet building, beautiful exterior, lots of space Cons: Poor/rude management, sloppy maintenance, dirty apt, mold/mushrooms, not taken care of well previously I guess. more

The only thing ?luxury? is the PRICE!! 11/20/2007

Kitchen & baths all have the cheapest bottom-of-line appliances, cabinets, fixtures & doors available, & all installed BADLY. VERY poor quality & sloppy workmanship throughout. Outlets don?t work, or move inside the walls because they?re not properly anchored into studs. Mgmt & maintenance are rude & unresponsive. Last year we told them several times about bad rain leaks in the cheap aluminum windows; they never came to fix it, & now there is water damage all over the bedroom wall. Ghe++o-@$$ neighbors yell & race motorcycles in the parking lot all night long; they use the halls, stairs, & grounds as their own personal garbage dump & graffiti gallery; & the elevator vestibule smells like a URINAL. Several car thefts this year, & the outside door locks always look like someone?s been trying to pry them open. The leasing agent raved about the fabulous golf course nearby. We went there ONCE, it was horrible & overpriced. WAAAAY too much $$ for just a mediocre apt, & the rent keeps going up. We hate it here & can?t wait to move!!! Pros: Close to highway; decent landscaping Cons: EVERYTHING ELSE more

Good property, Bad management and maintenance 8/16/2006

I moved in 2 months back and still not all of move in problems are fixed. My move in list ran to 2 pages... Didn't look like anyone tried making the apartment ready before move in.\r My AC is broken for almost a week now and nobody knows when it is gonna fixed.. yeah Mangement never cares to inform you on any ETA.\r Staff is rude and unresponsive. You will never find the person you wish to reach so all you can do is leave a voice message. I am yet to get a call back for the several VMs I have been leaving. Pros: nice and quiet property, proximity to highway Cons: Poor maintenance, unresponsive Management more

Bad place to live 7/22/2006

First thing me and a roomate took the apartment thinking it looked nice. We were right out of college, and we lived in woodhaven, willington CT a not so nice looking apartment. First problem in centruty hills we moved in and there was a hole in the ceiling. After complaining multiple times it was fixed (patched and did not clean up after their mess) and never painted. Then the walls are paper thin and you can hear the pipes everytime someone flushes a toilet... it took some time getting used to (I stayed in the room next to the bathroom, the other room had no problem). Then one of the apartments close to us caught on fire, we could not go into our place for a couple of days... thank god for the red cross who helped, staff was having a hard time organizing itselt. Then they installed centralized fire alarms, I am pretty sure they were fined and forced to have them place. They did a bad job, did not paint and left plaster everywhere. Then the hindus next door had the apartment with COCKROACHES!... then the apartments had to be fumigated. Later on we had a CARPET ANTS for which I bought pesticide. Before we moved out the balcony from the apartment above had to be replaced, again I complained for them to not make a mess. To my surprise they cleaned for the first time the plaster and sheetrock, but ofcourse when they painted they made a mess. There was paint left over on the carpet, couches, and my shoes. \r \r I lived in an apartment during college where they would have a cleaning crue clean everything after tenants left. Personally I think Centurty Hills is very unprofessional. If I was to give for rent a house or apartment I would have a cleaning crue clean the apartment when tenants changed. THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE I KNOW THAT DOES NOT SEEM TO DO SO! \r \r I WOULD HAVE NEVER MOVED IN THAT PLACE IF I KNEW HOW IT WAS BEING RUN. BELIEVE ME ITS NOT WORTH IT!\r Pros: Looks nice, close to highway Cons: not very helpful staff, thin walls, poor mantainance more
