Steve Centouri talks a great game, but when all was said and done I would've been better off with my wife's lawyer. His office demonstrated no urgency in regards to ensuring that the opposing counsel's inquiries were being fulfilled or related to me, stretching the proceedings for a standard (no children, no shared property) divorce out to over two years. As an example, after hand delivering my tax return directly to his receptionist at his office, they ended up losing it and never informed me, leading to the judge finding that I was engaged in “fraudulent disposition”. After finally receiving the decree of dissolution that was exceedingly favorable to my ex-wife, it was directly stated that Centouri could have supplemented or submitted a new decree within two weeks of receipt...that he neglected to do. He also didn't respond to my ex-wife's China Doll affadavit that awarded three times the lawyer fees as was previously decreed, leaving me on the hook for that. And of course, he never responded to any of these complaints or concerns. Basically, if you are willing to babysit him and do all the work of representing yourself while using him as an empty suit, then best of luck to you. Otherwise you'd be better off with someone who actually cares about the outcome of the case. more

Mr. Rene S. Alcoverde Jr., was my lawyer in a family law case. The invoices I received from his office were very detailed and transparent. I never got the sense that he was using any gimmicks to run up billable hours. He was efficient in his handling of the legal matter at hand. During the proceedings, Mr. Alcoverde remained proactive and informative on the progress of the case, explaining how the positions of the other parties involved would/could affect his initial strategy. At the conclusion of the case, Mr. Alcoverde followed up with me and made sure I knew that he and his staff were willing to assist with any lingering questions I may have. Throughout this ordeal, I felt confident that, win or lose, Mr. Alcoverde was providing me with vigorous and competent representation, without resorting to vitriol to make his case. In the end I won my case and Mr. Alcoverde’s help with navigating the legal landscape during an emotionally stressing time was greatly appreciated.
