caring and compassionalte 2/6/2012

I have been using CTAH for over 20 years. They have seen me through the death of 2 dogs with compassion and understanding, helping the surviving dog deal with the adjustment. We now have 2 other dogs and continue to go see them even after moving to the Round Rock area. They truly care about their patience and do their best to make them as comfortable as possible. Terrible Customer Service 2/4/2012

Although I found Dr. Coleman to be very compassionate and informative about my 12 yr old dog's diagnosis, I was very dissatisfied with the clinic manager's attitude and the way she handled payment. It was taking an usually long time to drain fluid from my dog's abdomen and after I had paid the invoice, Michelle stated "We didn't charge you enough. It's taking too long and too many staff members to get this done so we'll have to charge more next time.". My dog is in the end stages of liver failure. The last thing a grieving pet owner needs from the staff at a clinic is a crappy attitude and someone making them feel bad because it taking longer than normal to perform a procedure. It was past closing time on a Saturday and I felt as if she was being nasty to me because she couldnt close for the day. We have been patrons of CTAH for years and after our sweet lab passes away, we'll be looking for a new clinic. It's not always about the bottom dollar CTAH... It's about making your clients feel at ease and well taken care of, especially in times of grief. Pros: null Cons: null more

Dr Modok saved my cat...staff is great 3/5/2011

My cat was skin and bones after his best friend, another cat had died. Dr. Modok understood cat behavior, gave an internal injection of fluids under the skin and sent us home...all for a reasonable cost. I doubted the treatment, but followed his instructions for at home care. Day by day my cat's health improved. The staff there was very knowledgeable about animals and compassionate. From front desk staff to the techs...they knew their stuff. I hope they keep up the good work. They have cared for our pets since 2002. more

Always There for You! 1/18/2011

We've been using CTAH since moving to P'ville 15 years ago. They have been attentive to all our pet's needs and very professional. The records they keep help us to remember what is needed. I have recommended to numerous friends and recommend to all that are reading this review. more

Love it!! 10/1/2010

I have 7 doggies and love the attention of the staff of the hospital. Everyone is always friendly and we are treated like family here. They GIVE back to the community by sponsoring many activities helping senior pets and rescues. I have been a client for over 3 years and would not take my babies anywhere else. more

CAT KILLERS 9/11/2010

I brought my cat thursday sept. 09, at 10 am in an emergency due to high fever\r \r the vet treated her with steroids, fluid and antibiotic injections\r the day after my cat was panting, unable to breathe and I brought her back to them friday sept. 10 at 10 am\r \r after two hours of meaningless exams, they were unable to see her distress and that she had fluids in her lungs!\r \r dr coleman was more worried about charging me whatever she could charge me\r \r at 6 pm I brought her to the emergency clinic in round rock for her to have oxygen therapy\r \r around 9pm the vet called me to say the diagnosis changed, she had fluids in her lungs, not a asthma attack\r \r they called me around 11:30 pm to tell me that my cat had stop breathing\r \r my cat died a horrible, painful death because of central texas animal hospital\r \r the fluids in her lungs is the result of the thursday's injections and they're not even able to see their screw up\r \r GO TO HELL CAT KILLERS more

Good staff poor groomer 5/23/2010

I have taken my dog to CTAH for 6 years. She gets excellent care, I have never been unhappy. I like that they have weekend hours since I work. I also board my pet when I travel and they call me if there is ever any problems. The reception staff has been there long term, is very knowledgeable Pros: caring staff Cons: uncaring groomer more

Extremely Poor Service Quality 4/30/2010

If you read nothing else about this review, take from this that you should NEVER take your cat to be groomed at Central Texas Animal Hospital. Pros: friendly receptionist Cons: Cannot groom cats, groomer has poor customer service skills more

Dr. Julien was TERRIBLE 4/4/2010

The building is lovely and the vet techs are friendly and helpful. I have only met Dr. Julien, but I will never let my dog see him again. I knew my dog was having some balance problems, but I needed to get him in to a vet for an exam and to pick up a heartworm med. prescription. Dr. Julien decided without consulting me (or telling me the price!) to draw blood samples for a distemper test. He then did not even so much as listen to my dog's heartbeat or look in his eyes and nose, instead he told me that he was sure my dog had distemper and I would need to figure out what to do about it. And then they charged me for an exam, in addition to the very expensive bloodwork! My neighbor warned me that Dr. Julien was awful, and she was absolutely right. Maybe other doctors at this location are better, but if I ever go back to that clinic, I know I'll never have him see my pets again. more

My Second Home 3/17/2010

Everyone at CTAH is great! They're all caring and compassionate and really care about animals. I'm there often since I have 10 animals. I've been to all of the doctors, and they're all excellent. One unsung hero at CTAH is Janice, their groomer. She's worked there a long time and is very good at her job. My dog was groomed last week, and it made me stop to think that she needs a thank you. Her job can't be easy, dealing with dirty, stinky, matted (and some that absolutely don't want to be there) dogs and cats. Yet she does her job professionally and better than other groomers I've been to. I've taken a couple of my cats, long-haired and matted, for her to groom for the summer, sure they'd have to be sedated for her to shave. But no, she's done them without sedation and says she'd do them again, which I guess means they didn't go ballistic. And my little dog smelled so good and looked so beautiful when I picked him up last week. Thanks, Janice. Thanks to everyone at CTAH. You guys are like my second family. Pros: Best animal hospital in town! Cons: None more

Consistently superb care 1/14/2009

CTAH is the best! I've brought my pet's there for years and I'm amazed at how I and my pets are ALWAYS given the ROYAL treatment. Every person I see working there is pleasant and professional and it's nice that they've all been around for so long (they've watched my son grow up.) They seem to love what they do and that makes all the difference in the world. Pros: discounts on shots, spays/neuters Cons: hard to get in for boarding more

Caring Professionals 9/9/2008

I moved here eight years ago and looked for a clinic near my house. I feel very fortunate that it was CTAH. They have not only administered routine checks but also gave me expert advice on seeing a specialist in caring for surgical emergencies. I wish finding a doctor for my two legged family members was as easy. Drs. Banks and Modak are extremely competent and the staff are truly supportive and friendly. Can't wait for building completion. more

We had a great experience at Central Texas Animal Hospital 8/23/2008

I recently took my 12-year old dog in to the vet because her ears have been really itchy since we moved here. It was the 1st time I'd been there - we're new to the area - and I was greeted cheerfully by the receptionists up front. They fussed over my Ginger, really made us feel welcomed. I'm a little late getting her shots (with the move and all) and was dreading a guilt trip at the vet. But - no one made me feel bad. (My vet in California would have really jumped my case!) The doctor did Ginger's exam - he seemed very thorough and put her (and me) at ease! He cleaned out her ears and prescribed some medicine. The doctor's assistant showed me how to do the medicine and asked if I had any questions. Everyone that I encountered there was so professional and helpful. They even called me a few days later to see how Ginger's ears were doing. I will definitely be bringing my other dog and cat there when they need to see a doctor. I recommend Central Texas Animal Hospital - they a more

Money grabbers 7/18/2008

Modak is misdiagnosed my dog a few years ago. Said she was incontinent. The dog was only four years old. Wanted me to put her on pills the rest of her life. (Money grab) The problem cleared up on its own in a couple of weeks. Julian is just as bad. Said my dog whos is nine now has kidney problems and needs KD Science diet. $44 for a 20lbs bag. He said she needed her teeth cleaned. The bactiera in her mouth was part of the kidney problem? Charged me for $370 total for it! I have owned several dogs in my life and they all lived past 12 years of age without a teeth cleaning. What a ripoff. Female doctor there tried to tell me to buy their joint health food. Said it might help my dogs allergies too? Give me a break. They will tell you anything to keep the money train coming. I am done with them. more

They saved our dogs' life. 6/6/2008

We had to take our little dachshund down to them for weekend care that our regular vet couldn't provide. He was in the hospital, recovering from a teeth cleaning that had started to develop into pancreatitis. (He's an older dog). Anyway, our regular vet couldn't quite get the diagnosis down. The doc's at Central were able to correctly diagnose and treat him so that instead of taking him back to our regular vet on Monday, like we thought we were going to have to do, we were able to take him home! The only issue we had with our experience was that the billing was a little deceptive in the way it was presented. It was not clearly explained and I still think we were charged twice for two procedures, however, we are very grateful for the care that our dog received. They know what they are doing for your pet...the paperwork, not so much. Make sure you double-check your bill! more

Consistently Excellent Care 5/27/2008

In my experience, the Doctors and staff at CTAH deliver "world class" care! I've been taking my cats there for 7 years and have always had great experiences. Even when my Callie had to be put to sleep, the entire staff showed such compassion. I recommend this hospital to my friends because I know that they'll be treated right.\r I also LOVE the groomer, Janice. She takes great care of my babies! more

"She Came To Me For Help" 5/23/2008

My review is 2 thumbs down for sure. My 3 yr. old cat was diagnosed by Dr. Modak and Dr. Julian wrong. They at first (Dr.Modak) even told me that sometimes our pets tend to act more hurt than they were in company with the owner. Couldnt find anything visible wrong but agreed she had trauma to her left front shoulder. Gave me pain meds for her. I was the one who found punture wounds on her a block away from the vets office and went back. No one had shaved her to really look at her until I went back. Modack was already gone and Dr. Julian said it looked like she was bit by a dog. gave me antibiotics to go along with the pain meds given a few minutes ago.To make this long painful story short < Trinket was bitten by a rattlesnake. By the time anyone figured this out by the next day and I rushed her to the emergency for the antivenin it was too late. The one bottle that they administered to her along with blood they were fixing to give her was just too late. My Trinket died because I believ more
