Central Jersey Appliance Service, LLC

Got home last night and turned on my AC only to find out it wasn't blowing cold air. In the morning I called a reputable company that does a lot of work where I live (unfortunately found out about them AFTER I called Central Jersey Appliance LLC two years ago, May 31st 2011). Advised the HVAC this morning that I had a problem 2 years ago I used Service Magic to find a repairmen. CJA LLC called be back to come and take a look at the unit. I was advised at that time that my unit was 10 lbs low on freon which costs $40/pound and then would be a $100 labor fee for 15 minutes of work ... $535.10 after tax!!! Well, the HVAC this morning advised me my unit only holds FIVE pounds of freon much to my dismay! These people are CROOKS and should be ashamed of themselves for stealing money from good people that are looking for fair service. I wish I researched them and the specs of my unit more carefully. Now I'm getting my entire system replaced for $5000+ and these thieves will NEVER get my business again but will ALWAYS have their name spread in vain to everyone I know. more

Utter and complete criminals - first they give me a quote over the phone for my AC (problem was outside valve was broken) - says it would be around $500. When the repair guy comes, he says my problem is MUCH simpler, and says he would expect it to cost much less. He calls into Greg, a complete joke of a character (Greg - when Satan welcomes you to hell, don't even bother putting up a protest) - and Greg just says it'll still be $500, the guy is still there, and makes a snide comment along the lines of ""i work in a great business"" meaning he was basically saying I have no choice. Later i find out the repair should have been maybe $75 tops. And guess what - a year later? Same problem - they couldn't even fix it - what a complete and utter waste of time. Avoid at ALL costs. more

I paid them $500 to fix my GE refrigerator. They ""fixed"" it. A week later it broke again. It took them 2 weeks to come back. They ""fixed"" it again. Broke again 2 days again. Took them another 2 weeks to come back. They said they don't know what to do and will refund our money. They sent us 2 checks for $167. They never sent us the 3rd check. We have been calling Gregory for 7 months and he avoids us. Now we have to sue them for the rest of the money. Avoid them at all costs. Once you pay them, they don't care at all. more

Do not even think about using this company or Service Magic, which is how I unfortunately had the worst experience of my life with a contractor. My Oven needed a new hinge and sensor. Gregory came out and replaced the senor and advised he needed to order the other hinge. This was on January 6, 2011. It is now March 16, 2011 and I have tried everything to just get the respect of a return phone call to find out status. I finally had to have Service Magic contact them and stay on hold until they could conference them in to get me some answers. I am now waiting for the part to be shipped directly to me and I will have a friend install as I already spent $300 with Central Jersey Appliance. ***Buyer Beware -- Do not even think about it. I am sending a full report to the Better Business Bureau on Central Jersey Appliance and Service Magic. Also - I did check with the BBB after this experience and they have an F rating. Save yourself the aggravation and go with a different company. more
