Central Chem-Dry

We had our senior tech that has 22 years of carpet cleaning experience to Julies house. She showed him 2 rooms she wanted cleaned. One of the room measured 330ft. The tech stated that the room was over 300ft and would count as 2 rooms as per the voucher she purchased. Julie said she knew it was over 300ft, but since there was furniture in the room it should count as one. Julie had the choice to have the one room cleaned as her voucher, or she could choose another room that would be under the 300ft. She said we were a scam and to leave her house. By this time I was on the phone with the tech. I told the tech to leave. Julie stood in front of her door and would not let the tech leave her house. ( Very Bizarre) This has never happened in 14 years in business. The tech had to tell her she was holding him hostage in her house and it was wrong. She finally let him leave. I am very thankful we did no work at this home. Amazon did give her a full refund for the voucher she purchased. more

I had a horrible experience with Central Chem-dry. I did an Amazon voucher and the would do 2 rooms under 300 square feet. They said my first room was 334 ft and would not do second room. I explained that they were messuring wrong and including a 4x4 alcove as though it went across the room when it did not. The room was 288 square feet including alcove when(16x17(272) feet plus 4x4 (16) feet) I measured with tape measure. They then called office. I asked to speak with office and said it was a scam. They then refused to clean carpet or let me talk to office even though I said just clean the one room since I had already paid for it. I obviously got very upset since the already had my money. The technition was rude to me. The owner said they would not make money on voucher unless I was a repeat customer so would not clean. I did get money back from Amazon, but very upseting day. I am having company this weekend and really wanted my carpet cleaned. more

I was asked to review my experience with Chemdry. First off I bought a Groupon for 2 rooms. It was inexpensive so I really didnt expect much. I was amazed on how the carpet looked. Most of the stains came right up. I did pay for the pet treatment. I wish they would of included it for free but hey, I know they have to make something. I did add on an extra bedroom and they charged me $35. All in all ill use them again. more

My carpets were cleaned today. I was asked to place a review so here it is. They showed up a little early which I was ok with. I called off the Val-pak coupon. I had him clean the sofa and loveseat. There was definitely a big improvement. Thanks. more

I used Central Chem-Dry for the first time, recently bought one of the $59 Groupon deals and I was very disappointed by the whole experience. I have used other chem-dry companies before and have had great results. This experience with Central was a complete nightmare. They cleaned my carpet with a buffer machine and a cloth towel and left a dirty stale smell in my home and I had to vacuum the carpet after it dried. I usually pay $99-$120 for the cleaning from other chem-dry companies in Nashville and the cleaning has been excellent. This company used a completely different cleaned method and I would never use this them again. more

I was very disappointed with the service. The actual price was almost double what was quoted to me on the phone. I had the cleaning at 11:00 and it still was not dry by 5:30 PM They are overpriced and the carpet is not dry in the time frame of 2-4 hours. more

The current Groupon is the same price as the TNT Chem-Dry coupons already on their page. I'm not sure if you can use two coupons at once. If so they have a 3 rooms for $99 and a $25 off carpet cleaning. I'm not sure of the rating since I won't have my carpets cleaned until next week. more

This is a response to ""Overexpensive ..."" . I am Diane Baker, owner of the company. As we run the company ourselves, I talked to this customer to set up the appointment and to try and resolve these issues. I am very sorry that he was not happy. We have built our business on repeat customers, so this is a very unusual occurence. We used the Chem-Dry Legacy system to clean his carpet. This system has been perfected by Chem-Dry for over 30 years. Our procedure when we have a complaint is to go back on site to view the problems and see what needs to be done to correct them. The customer refused. He stated the carpet looked fine when we were done. There were no spots that did not come up. We did offer to re-clean everything at no charge. Again, the customer refused. As to the dry time, since we were not allowed to go back into the home, we have no way to verify how long the carpet was wet. Drying times could be affected by many things including temperature in the home, humidity, air circulation, the content of the carpet fibers, etc. My best guess from 10 years in this business is that he had a traffic lane that was treated extra heavy (at no extra charge) to make sure it looked just as good as it could. When we do extra treatments it can take longer to dry. The customer stated he could have had his carpets cleaned for 1/10 of the price. I find it hard to believe that a reputable company would clean his carpets for $20. As for being on time, he was the first appointment of the day! We work hard to run on time to all our jobs, but it's certainly not for lack of work! The customer did not offer us $50, he only offered $20. And he disputed the charge on his credit card. The credit card company reviewed his dispute and found it not valid. They would not remove the charge from his bill. In all, our company stands behind its work and strives for customer satisfaction; however, we don't return money on a cleaning when the carpet looks great. more

I'm an average homeowner that has had carpets cleaned plenty of times before, and the only reason for choosing this company was due to a coupon advertisement that stated very quick drying times. Worst mistake of my life. Take my advice and stick to regular carpet companies that use a real steam unit and vacuum. First of all, I was quoted different pricing over the phone and in person. I was also told that furniture areas will be deducted out of total sq. footage to determine final price, but the cleaner said it was a policy to charge for the whole sq. footage of the room. A regular carpet cleaning is 1/10th the price of the Chemdry system and seems to clean the carpet just the same as Chemdry. First of all I will say I am really picky. I called around to several carpet cleaners before deciding on this chemdry. I spoke with Diane which was friendly and seemed like she really wanted my business. Many places I called just wanted me to schedule an appointment without telling me why I should. Diane asked for apromixmate sizes of my rooms and then gave me a price. I had a forty five dollar off coupon I got in the clipper magazine. The technician they sent was about a half hour early. I didnt really like that for I wasnt ready for him yet. He offered to wait in his truck but I let him in. The price was close to they quoted over the phone. He cleaned for about two hours. I thought It would of taken longer. I will say the carpet looks alot better than expected. There was a red stain from a drink that didnt come up. Most of it did but not all. After two hours the rooms were dry but not the steps. It does take alot to impress me. I will have them next time. Pros: Carpet looks good Cons: was a little early more

We had Central Chemdry clean our carpet last week. I was amazed. The carpet looks way better than I or my husband thought. We will definately use them again. Pros: On time Cons: Took longer to dry that 2 hours more

I based my estimate on the fact that Ashley?s home was about 1200 sq. ft. Framing, inside walls, and tiled/wood surfaces reduce the actual cleaning square footage. When giving estimates over the phone, it is impossible to know the exact price without the dimensions, so I said the technician would measure and give her a price upfront. When it comes down to it, her rooms were bigger than I had estimated. Ashley was very polite in her dealings with us, and I am deeply saddened that she feels she was taken advantage of. We do not give low quotes over the phone to get bookings. As with any purchase, the customer can refuse service if they do not like the price. Making inaccurate estimates over the phone would waste our time, tie up valuable appointments, and wear out our technicians with bogus appointments, not to mention our cost in wasted gasoline, man hours, etc. If you call us with exact room dimensions, you will receive an exact price. If you do not know the room sizes, I will ask you questions to determine an estimate. We will measure your square footage and give you a price before we start. If the price is too much, we will call it a free estimate. The majority of our work comes from repeat customers which is a testament to the way we do business. Ashley, I am very sorry that you had a negative experience with us. This is certainly not the norm for our business. As for the addresses being different. That is an address we had 7 years ago.
