Central Arkansas Pediatric

I have found that as far as wait times, either on the phone or in the office, are about the same compared to other places. Most of the nurses are pretty nice and professional. I have only had one issue with the doctors and it has me questioning whether to stay with them or not. I brought my son in one afternoon with a 103 fever among other issues. My daughter had just gotten over the same sickness the week previously and she had been given antibiotics to kick it. I was told that he just had a bug (even with the exact same symptoms as my daughter) and was sent home. 5 hours later I was heading to the ER because his fever spiked to 105+ and I was unable to keep it down. He was diagnosed with pneumonia. We spent 10 hours in the ER room and in the end, were given the same exact antibiotics that my daughter had. more

I have been bringing my child to this clinic since June of 09. I was in there last week and we had an 8 am appointment (no one else was waiting). Guess that was too early to be acknowledged while I stood at the window to be checked in or spoken too. As the other comments have mentioned the front office leaves little to be desired with their ""people skills"". Then the nurse called us back...same thing no good morning, how are you nothing. We see the doctor whom we have seen numerous times...he seems to be in a hurry and does a rather rushed exam. So, due to this I take my child to another Dr. b'c he was running fever going on 3 days, they do a swab of his throat and what do you know...strep throat. Could have had this diagnosed days ago. Not too happy! more

I have only been with them a Year, and yes the front office staff of nurses daughters and relatives it seems think they are too good to be of any help , and really can't offer much info.. I love the Docs they are right on, and very attentinve, but the nurse are hateful, I hate to say in a hospital setting they would be eaten alive by the veteran nurses I subject myelf to dailey, I once called to schedule an appointment , with one of the little girls up front, She put me on hold , and then I get this nasty RN. Who thinks she is going to talk to me any way she wnats , tone of voice and all, if I could find another place I would go, not sure I won't keep looking more

My daughter has seen Dr. Weed since she was born. He is a great doc. As far as the staff goes...I can't complain there either. The on call nurse always calls back and talks with me about how things are going (never rude). If your going to be late for an appt. all you have to do is call and let them know and if you under 15 min they will hold your spot. If not they will try to get you worked in that day. I don't know how good of a mood i would be in if i had to deal with parents and screaming kids all day either. I'm sure the job description doesn't say they have to go above and beyound the normal to make you feel comfortable. I get greeted each time with a hello and then they ask my childs name. As far as the toy issue goes if you've ever been down to the wellness clinic theres toys down there. I agree 100% that i don't want my daughter playing with toys that sick kids have been coughing and snotting all over. Everyone knows a runny nose can't be stopped and some mothers just don't pay close enough attention to it. Pros: Great Doctors, Always an openning Cons: To far away from my home more

In response to the previous review, I must agree with her about their wonderful doctors. However, I have to strongly disagree with the comment regarding the waiting room toys or books. I have been with the clinic for years now and in the past they have had toys and books for childrens use. The books were torn to pieces and the toys in my opinion were huge germ collectors. Just imagine all the sick little hands that played with them on a daily basis! You can't Lysol them after every sick child! I would always bring my own toys/books for my son to play with and now we can just watch a movie which is much easier. I do always hold for long periods of time when I call. I know they are very busy, but you think they would have enough people to take the calls. The people that I have dealt with there are always friendly and professional. I gave this office 3 stars ONLY because of the doctors,, i totally agree with the person before me. The staff that works there certainly get the job done but act like its a BOTHER, and kind of hold their noses up at me. I'am no different then any other person in there, and it almost made me switch to another office, but i cant because of the long drive.. They might think of adding some toys or books to their offices to give kids something to do while they wait for an hour, cause me little girl drives me and her crazy when she has to go because of nothing to do. I have used Central Arkansas Pediatric Clinic for five years and liked them until recently. The front office staff acts like it is a bother to help you. They do not treat you friendly at all. The girl at the check in that sits to the left when you walk in is the worst. She always ignores me when I walk up to sign in. At the off chance that she actually helps me(which is rare) she doesn't make eye contact or smile at all. I have recently switched to Little rock childrens clinc and have been treated nicely since then. It's really a bother to drive to Little Rock when there are pediatricians in Bryant but I am not willing to put up with bad attitudes.
