From working in the medical field and recently having to deal with the office staff here, I am appauled at the lack of professionalism. I recommend family doctors all the time and I would never recommend this office. From the front desk that answered the phone to the office manager who was one of the ruddest people I have ever dealt with. In our line of work we are here to make sure the patients receive the best care possible and I felt like I was a bother to them. more

My experience at Point Plaza Family Practice was very pleasant, and i am very thankful. They have a great staff and i very much enjoyed being treated by the PA Melissa Lewis. Not long ago i had put a big gash in my knee and i had lost much blood and felt nauseous. She had treated my injury well and with comfort for i was nervous to be treated because i am very sensitive to these injuries. Yet the PA had calmed me and treated me with care. I was very nervous to receive the stitches for my gash. I had never received them before but she made it comfortable for me and easy. I was very much afraid of needles also. Yet she had came through and made it easier for me. I was quickly healed and was able to run easily and play sports as i have without reopening the gash. I was very happy with the procedure and would like to thank Point Plaza Family Practice. After this experience i returned with all my sickness and injuries because i knew i would be back on my feet quickly and be in balance with their treatment. I would recommend this to anybody for i have very much enjoyed the service they provide. more

I want to thank Point Plaza Family Practice for the care I received recently.... the care by Dr. Badolato in preparation for a recent elective surgery was excellent. He took the time to explain the procedure and put my concerns at bay. I am new to the practice and believe me, have been to several nearby practices that were not even close to Point Plaza with regards to professionalism, availability of appointments and quality of the facility.\r \r I was moved to comment by reading other comments here that are not at all consistent with my experience... especially those regarding PAs.... this seems prejudicial to me and I have met several PA and NPs for that matter who were at least as good as any Doctor. more

I am extremely grateful for the care I…\r I am extremely grateful for the care I‘ve received from everyone at the Point Plaza Practice, especially the individualized care provided to me by the dedicated Physician Assistant. When I opened this website for comments, I was surprised to see someone complaining about medical care provided by a Physician Assistant. Perhaps that individual does not realize that PA’s are trained to perform all the duties and procedures of a medical doctor and PA’s can specialize in many fields of medical practice. Believe me, having battled cancer for the past 14 years which has required too many emergency visits to ER’s than I care to remember, and having experienced way too many painful surgeries and procedures than one should have to deal with in one’s lifetime, I have become an expert in evaluating care received by Doctors, Nurses, and PA’s. Having lived in three different states while receiving treatment, I’ve had to get to know many different professionals in the medical field. Through this journey, I’ve dealt with several complications involving my immune system and internal organs, and many times it has been Physician Assistants working in offices of my Urologists, Oncologists, Hematologists, OBGyn’s, Dermatologists, and Immunologist who have provided me with the most personalized and dedicated care. And since being treated as a patient by the Physician Assistant (Melissa Lewis) of Point Plaza Family Practice, my quality of life has changed significantly. She literally has changed my life for the better. You have no idea what it is like to live everyday not knowing what new obstacle you’ll be faced with regarding complications of your immune system or perhaps dealing with yet another biopsy, new diagnosis, and new treatment plan. She has stayed on top of my lab results and is in constant communication with me and the specialists to whom she’s had my case referred. Dealing with the all the employees at Point Plaza Family Practice has been such a lovely experience. When I walk in the door, I feel like they really know me and really care about me. I am constantly singing their praises to anyone who will listen. Yet, the best endorsement for the great care received at Point Plaza’s Family Practice, would come from my mother. She’s now being treated at Point Plaza and she is the pickiest patient of them all.….so if she gives a group of doctors a thumbs up, you know they’re good. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE AT POINT PLAZA FAMILY PRACTICE…YOU ARE LIFE SAVERS!!!!!! \r more

Per Disgraceful New Physicians Assistant 10/27/2011

In my previous review of the staff of Point Plaza Medical Staff, I apologize as I have always been treated with care and respect from Barbara, Nadine, Donna, Jessica, and Nadine, by no means my previous review was about any of them. I will truly miss you all more

DISGRACEFUL!!! NEW SO CALLED DOCTOR ""PHYSICANS ASSITANT"" 10/27/2011

Our family has been treated by Dr. Cavallaro for the past five years. We have never had a problem with him.he is compassionate, professional, and personable, all the qualities that a patient needs when they are sick and do not quite comprehend their sickness. The patience he has for his elderly patients is unbelievable, he has been treating my mother-in-law for the past five years for dementia and has been very helpful in helping me deal with all the stress that goes along with the stress of being the main caretaker. I have called him many times crying and he has had the ability to calm both my fears and stress. Until now, most of the staff has always been somewhat disrespectful, especially the office manager, Donna, she has tried to intimidate me from the beginning, making me feel as if I had done something to offend her, fortunately Dr Cavallaro has opened his own practice and we might have to travel a distance to see him, I believe it is well worth the travel time for my sanity. If we have to pay a full copay to a ""physicians assistant"" I feel somehow the patient is getting ripped off. I also have a very big problem when someone is accused of something, when they are not guilty of anything, other than using a prescription written by someone other than the doctor. I worked for the government for 20 years, 20 and out, and we were taught that a person is innocent until proven guilty. I think in the future you should not jump to conclusions when you are not aware of the facts. more

Extremely unprofessional!! Rude and uncaring 4/25/2011

My mother and I were patients at this practice for a long time until we found out that one of the doctor's were prescribing her double the dose of her pain medication for her bad back for over a year. She now has developed a permanent stomach condition do to this error. Unfortunately, this is nothing compared to the eway that she was treated by the receptionists when she went in the office scared and in severe pain. They rudely disreguarded her and even laughed amoungst eachother at how she was acting because she was nervous and in pain. My mother is 65 years old, I hope that no one else has to have a loved one ever experience anything like this. Jessica was the name of the woman that she spoke to directly and she should be ashamed of herself along with the rest of the staff at Point Plaza medical practice! I was required to give at least one star to complete my review, but if it was my choice I owuld give them 0 stars. Thank You more

Friendly doctors, great service 9/3/2008

I have been a patient for about 10 yrs now. I was orginally seeing Dr. Botalata, but one day he wasnt in and I got Dr. Cavallero, and now Dr. Cav is my doctor. He is practically my whole family's doctor now. I always take my 2yr old daughter in with me because she likes him too. Dr. Cavallaro is very understanding and takes the time to listen to me, with all my problems. He doesnt mind if you ask alot of questions. He never rushes me out like most doctors do. You can tell he loves being a physician, he displays all his achievements in his exam rooms. I really like the staff there, they try to make you smile if your having a bad day. I give Dr. Cavallaro and his team 2 thumbs up! Pros: Friendly, Great Service, and close to hospital more

handling medical care in 2008!! 8/5/2008

i have been a patient for over 10 years. after reading the above reviews, you must have no idea what it takes to deal with us patients and our hmo insurances!!!! i think the staff at this office makes it very enjoyable and i guess you all cant handle how straight forward they are. of course, policies must be enforced, just image in this day and time what would happen if they became lax with the office policies!!! another problem in the medical field today is our society living for the quick antidote, SORRY there currently is NONE!!! just to let you know i am a specialist's, in the sewell area, wife!! i would never change my primary doctor from this office, SOOOO sorry the other reviews dont enjoy your up beat patient care!! I DO!!! more

Great doctors, Bad everyone else. 3/28/2008

I have been seeing these doctors for about 4 years. The doctors are great. Dr Honig is extremely personable and thorough. He answers all questions without ever seeming ""rushed"" (even though it does ususally take at least an hour of waiting in the reception area before even getting to see him) \r \r In contrast, their nurses, assistants and receptionists could all use a training course in people skills. Now I completely understand that there will always be that ""trouble"" patient, but to be nasty and snappy with all patients is uncalled for. I think out of all the staff they have only one receptionist was ever ""nice"" to me. The rest act like you are bothering them when you ask questions or need to get something from them. As far as the nurses or med assistants (not sure of exact ""title"") they are pushy and snappy. \r \r All in all, if I wasn't so fond of the doctors, I would immediately take myself somewhere else, but it all boils down to finding good medical care in doctors you trust, not nasty, unhappy ""nurses, med assistants and receptionists"". Pros: Dr Honig and Dr Cavallaro Cons: All other staff members as well as excessively long wait times more

Awful uncaring people 1/2/2008

Long long waits till Docs finish up with medical sales people & get their free goodies & restaurant gift certs. surly clerical help that have more rules than the IRS, and they are all posted next to the sliding window, which is the first line of defense protecting everyone from the irate patients. This is not a very friendly""people place"".Is this what socialized medicine is going to be like? Pros: Close to my house Cons: Everything else more
