I had a bad customer service experience when I went in to buy a wedding dress. I ended up calling to complain, and was able to speak to the owner, Patrice. She was very concerned and nice, listened to what I had to say, and did a great job making up for it. She gave me a very hefty discount, and made things very easy from there. I'd recommend checking the place out, and if you have any concerns, talk with Patrice directly and she'll help you out. Pros: Friendly owner gave a great discount more

I went to catans fashions on the advice of my sister in law. I walked in and was greeted by the owner(mrs A) and another staff member. They where friendly towards my mom and I and even offered us pastries. mrs A took care of me personally. I told her my budget and she gave me a great deal and helped me pick the perfect dress and I found a gorgeous pair of earrings!! I will go back for the rest of my bridal needs and I will recommend catans fashions to everyone I know!! thank you to everyone at catans!! you have made my bridal experience wonderful!! I have never been spoken to in the manner that the owner spoke to me. She called me rude and wouldn't let me speak. She told me she was doing me a favor... I'm sorry a favor?! HAHA! No you are doing business... NOT A FAVOR! By the end of the conversation she threatened that if I ""walked in with an attitude when I got my veil, she would not render me service""- excuse YOU I'm the customer and my payment is NON Refundable, so if she did not render me service, there would be police involved. Clearly they do not take criticism well and cannot handle customer concerns properly. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! No apologies, and she HUNG UP ON ME! Catans is nothing but a bunch of con artists. Their bridesmaids dressing rooms looked like Goodwill threw up. The only nice person I had was the headpiece consultant. Had I known the owner was a complete crazy ape, I would have never purchased ANYTHING from them- because of course it's non refundable. I hope they go out of business and I will continue to express how crappy their service is. All their employees were stuck up, that is if you could find them. DO NOT SHOP THERE- EVER! We drove from Toledo to shop here, and it was very easy to find. Directly off the turnpike, and straight on 42. What a selection! All the staff were friendly, and very, very helpful.Huge selection and prices were very reasonable for the type of dresses they have. It just happened that we were there during the Tony Bowls trunk show, and got to meet Tony. What a fun morning and what great dresses! Our consultant was foreign, unfriendly, and seemed bored with the whole process. She did not show us anything like what we were asking to see, she just didn't understand. I think her poor english skills may have played a part. She made the bride feel fat and unattractive. The bride is a size 8, by the way. Go the David's Bridal. We went there directly from Catan's and were treated well and bought a beautiful dress for about half of what Catan's average price was. Cons: bad employees, expensive more

My experience at Catan's was the best ever! I ended up ordering my gown and all of my bridesmaids' gowns, as well as my slip, headpiece, etc. The alterations department is outstanding, as is the bridal department and bridesmaids. The ladies in bridal and in bridesmaids both took the time to explain the differences in sizing on bridal size charts from what we're used to with retail sizing. Their selection is wonderful and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I would hands-down recommend this store to anyone looking to plan a wedding! Planning a wedding is a once in a lifetime experience and the ladies at Catans are there to help you through it, every step of the way! I have never been so unhappy with a bridal store. I have been to Catan's about 4 times now and everytime it is pretty much empty and you cannot find an employee to help out. And when you finally do find an employee to help out they have no idea what is going on.\r I ordered a bridesmaid dress through them and although i told them i am a 0 they still ordered me a 6. The alerations will cost more than the dress did. I told them to at least order me a 2 but they said the dresses run small. The only dress they had in store similar to the dress was a size 14, so we couldn't even try it on to compare sizes.\r I called in to complain about the huge size difference and they were extremly rude and told me that it was my fault. Umm pretty sure it is their job to pick the right sizes. \r I will never go to Catan's again and hope word gets out on their awful service and lack of knowledge on bridal and bridesmaid dresses.\r P.S. I would give this place no stars but the website requires you to pick at least 1. Cons: bad service, rude employees, no idea what is going on more

Catans has been my dress shop since I went to my first school dance in 8th grade. I have always had wonderful experiences with the workers and Pat Catan herself! They are always honest on what styles work best for you (which may cause some problems for people because you don't always look good in what you like!!) and by doing so you leave there looking your best! When it came time for my wedding, I made the mistake of being sucked in by another bridal shop that lied and made promises that never came true. Going back to Catans, they came through for me and I could not have been happier with the results. My dress was bustled beautifully, the bridesmaid’s dresses fit just as the employee predicted and they needed little alterations, and when the flower girl dress was sent in the wrong size they did everything possible to correct it. The dress arrived two days before the wedding and they altered it on the spot. They also have a tuxedo company on site with colors that match the bridesmaid’s dresses perfectly, and I say colors because I had six. Very professional company who will never let you leave looking anything but your best. Pros: Honest, great selections, wonderful alterations more

I went to Catan Fashions when it first opened for the day. I was expecting really good customer service from the consultants. However, I got the extreme opposite. My consultant was rude and not helpful at all. When asking me questions about what dress I was looking for (I still don't know why she asked me these questions..she never used my answers to help me) she made me feel like a complete moron with her attitude and how she spoken to me. She looked like she just rolled out of bed, her hair was a mess and her clothes were NOT professional looking. She did absolutely nothing to help me. She just basically showed me dresses in my prize range and left me to figure out that they don't carry all the sizes..So me..a size 4 was ""trying on"" a size 14. I was looking through a Catan book and I asked her if she had a specific dress I actually liked. She said she didn't know but found a dress that didn't look anything like the dress I liked. So when I found three dresses that were worth something, I waited and waited for her to reappear (let me reminded you the store is still completely dead). Finally she asked if I wanted to try the dresses on.. So I try on the over sized dress, come out holding it up so it doesn't fall, and wait for her to come back to explain the train and pin the dress...She never came...So, I just left the store without trying on any of the other dresses. Their dresses are way over priced and they are UGLY. Do not waste your time at this place...You will regret it. David's Bridal is a much better choice. Cons: Rude employees, overpriced dresses more

I am from South Carolina which is where my June 6th wedding will be taking place. 3 of my cousins will be in my wedding, but the reside in Cleveland, OH. On a visit to Catans we picked out 3 dresses and the girls went into to be measured. My junior bridesmaids dress is SO LARGE it falls off of her and the alterations will cost over the cost of the dress. When my older flower girl was measured her mother questioned the size. Catans employee assured her the measurements were correct and if she had a growth spurt there would be ""plenty"" of room to take the dress out. My flower girls mother decided to go a size up just in case. Well guess what??? When the dress came in it was so small that my flower girl could no fit her arms in the dress or zip it up. Her alterations are costing almost 1 1/2 the cost of the dress. DO NOT SHOP AT CATANS!!!! Awful experience and they have done nothing to fix it. I couldnt have been more disappointed. I've never written a review, but my experience with Catan's was so horrible, I never want another bride to have to go through this.\r \r I bought my wedding dress and my bridesmaid dresses here. Once committing to Catan's we immediately saw a different side of their service. We were treated rudely and one staff woman almost brought me to tears. We were bullied into getting dresses several sizes larger than our measurements indicated. Once our dresses came in, we had to wait forever for a room, even with an appointment. In the fitting room, one girls dress fell straight to the floor when zipped it was so large. It's no wonder Catan's wanted us to be swimming in our dresses, alterations for the bridesmaid dresses were more than the dress itself. Alterations for my wedding gown were almost as much as my gown. Taking advantage of consumers during an overwhelming and special time is a shame. Catan's rude service and poor business practices should be known. I had an excellent experience shopping for (and buying) my bridal gown at Catan's. We made an appt for early on Saturday, and our consultant was friendly and attentive. I was allowed to browse the racks and select some dresses that I wanted to try, and then I worked with the consultant to select some additional gowns. She talked to me thoroughly about what I wanted, and then offered some suggestions about what she thought would look good on me based upon my ideas. Ultimately, I fell in love with a gown that she pulled. The inventory is huge, and they carry a variety of price points and styles. Also, I knew that my maid of honor was coming in town the following weekend, so my consultant scheduled a second appt on that day just for me to come in and try on my gown for my friend. When we came for the ""viewing,"" the staff helped us to pick out bridesmaids gowns and offered to carry them to the bridal section so that we could see the bridesmaids dresses with my gown. Go anywhere else. You will be so much happier to find the dress of your dreams (or that which your bridemaids will wear) if you go somewhere where they know how to measure you, order the right size, and not talk you into something you know won't fit. Because if that happens, you have to fix it at your own expense and they accept no blame for any of it. Will be extremely rude and discourteous to you as well, even going so far as to deny what actually happened. Unprofessional sales staff. I ordered my wedding dress from Catan's and due to their mismesurements and incompitencies, I am left just weeks before my wedding with no dress and a $800 whole in my pocket. When I discussed the issues with the owner, I only received accusations of being a liar! Who talks like that to a customer?? This is the most unprofessional place I have ever worked with and it makes me very sad to know that they do this to brides all the time and there is no recourse. \r \r Please please do not go there! I have talked to many people that have regretted it but I thought they just had bad luck.... I now know, it wasn't them - it's Catan's. It's not worth the risk - your dress is too important and there are so many other good places to go. I went to Cantan's for my bridesmaids dresses. The girls were very lazy and unhelpful. My maids and I did all the work, pulling the dresses, finding the styles, and tracking down someone to get our sizes. They also tried up size my bridesmaid, meaning more money for take ins. Even though they have lots of vendors and options the customer service was not worth the headache. I went out three times with my maids to get the dresses ordered. I asked four times what my color options were, the girls all said any of the 55 five colors could be used. Here we are 4 yes 4 weeks after ordering the dresses and there is a problem with the colors, only 12 of the 55 can be used for the style dress that I got for the brides maids.\r \r While Davids bridal has less of a selection their customer service is great. I had no problems getting help there. I wish I would have spent the extra 52 dollars at Davids, Cause now I have to make a fourth trip out to fix the problem. Do not waste your time or money at this place! I ordered my bridesmaid dress from there, they admitted that they ordered the wrong siz and refuse to do anything about it! None of the bridesmaids got dresses that fit! They ordered the dress 2 sizes to big so to take it in will cost $70.00 then it will need hemmed (although it is tea length) and that will cost me another $40.00. They want to charge me $110.00 when the dress is worth $150.00! They said i could talk to a seamstress, but what is that going to do, because it is still going to cost me pretty much the cost of the dress to get it right! I have 2 close friends that bought their wedding dress there in the last couple of months. They are both extremly unhappy with the service. They might have cheap gowns, but they charge you $300.00 in your ""bridal package"" for your alterations. I bought a designer gown at a high end store and they are only charging me $75.00 for all of my alterations! CATANS IS A COMPLETE RIP OFF!!! DONT WAST TIME OR MONEY THERE! Pros: NOTHING! Hello, my experience at Catans Fashion and Bridal was awesome!! Very Caring and Helpful Staff !!! I Found the Gown of my Dreams after only 30 min. and I had spent 5 hrs. at David's before going to Catans!! A Special Thanks to Paula ,Pat and all the Staff for making this Dream wedding in October a Reality and a litlle less stressful !! The only draw back was not using new bra's and slips to try on gowns, I beleive you lose some of the effect of seeing gowns in their true shape!! However that is the only complaint that I have Found!! I Look forward to purchasing all the other items I need for My Victorian Dream Wedding In The Smoky Mountains Of Home in Tennessee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If You don't want the same look as Everyone Else definately Shop Catan's!!!!! Pros: Very Elegant, Made shopping experience Special, I mean it's not everyday you shop for Wedding Things!!
