Best

I was here for to do a presentation for a group. I was able to eat from the buffet and it was all very good...

Worst

How can an Italian Ristorante be considered good when it can't even prepare a good tomato sauce. Sure it may have the best veal pamesan, but if the meat sauce is a cheap maranara...

been a patron there since 1975 8/11/2011

Ill tell ya in 1975 this place was awesome,What a treat it was .You were served a tripple relish tray with REAL italian bread upon the sit down. The place was all a buzz on the weekends .Music in the cozy bar. It felt more italian than it does now without being a bit pretenious.I believe it was more about the food then.Back then they had a rainbow trout pan seared ...my favorite.Other than that I got the cheatau briand, they sliced it at your table. You could call a week in advance and order a seafood feast.Ok but enough about the past. Now when I go there it seems like the food is not cooked from scratch like it was.The menu is all different. It jsut seems mediocre now but it is still good. The place seem to have gone a little generic more like an olive garden too bad.I challenge the cooks there to get out some of the 30 yr old menus and try to duplicate some of the old best sellers ..nothing remains the same . more

Never had a bad meal 6/8/2006

I have been going to cascones since i was a kid. I have never had a bad meal. I love the pasta, buth the filet is to die for Pros: The food and service and nice wine list Cons: they always run a wait on the weekend (make reserv more

Horrible sauces and very pricey! 2/24/2006

The mushrooms taste like they are from a can and the prices are a little higher than expected. The service was nothing to write home about, very stand-offish. The wine selection is great, but that won't get me back there again. Pros: Large wine selection Cons: Below average service, Horrible sauces more

How can anyone not like this food 6/6/2005

Cascone's is the one restaurant I miss the most since I left Kansas City. They make this dish that is angel hair pasta, peas, and a combo alfredo & tomato sauce. It is to die for!!!!!!!!! All of their dishes are good tho, they have been in business a long time and believe me there is a reason for it.... They know what they are doing! If you go anywhere to eat go here!!!! more

Tomato sauce????? 7/2/2003

How can an Italian Ristorante be considered good when it can't even prepare a good tomato sauce. Sure it may have the best veal pamesan, but if the meat sauce is a cheap maranara with a meatball thrown on top, it is not a good restaurant! --a good sauce takes time and finesse. more

Best in the city 12/19/2002

Very attractive place with excellent food and professional friendly service. Good Northland location. Try the Veal Parmesan. more

Best calamari EVER! 10/31/2002

Cascone's is one of my favorite restaurants! I've never been to the other two locations, but this one is great. The calamari is the BEST I've had in KC, including Bugatti's and Italian Gardens. Cascone's is a great choice for traditional Italian food. Plus they have a swanky retro neon sign out front. (Actually, it's probably the original sign.) Pros: Food, Service, Ambience more

Ben there, tried it, won't go back 10/21/2002

Went to the once in Overland Park. Highly disappointed. Rude staff, overrated food and overpriced. At least Olive Garden's food is predictable. In fact, Olive Garden is at least 10 times better!!! more

grrrrrrrrrreat! 10/16/2002

4 stars 8/8/2002

We had taken a student (from Mississippi). Her meal was not satisfactory. The restaurant made it up by not charging her for the mail and gave all of us (6) free desserts! Now that is service!! more

Best Italian in the midwest! 7/26/2002

I have enjoyed every Italian meal I have eaten at Cascone's. The wait staff are nice and friendly, seats us promptly. We had our daughter's birthday dinner's there, and also had her rehearsal dinner at Cascone's. This is an excellent restaurant!!! Pros: parking, party's, Friendliness more

Still hungry 7/5/2002

Went to this place and ordered lasanga. It was pretty good but I was still hungry when we left. To top it off the waitress added extra 15% grautity to each persons bill that sat at the table with out telling us. I was going to tip her because of her good service but decided not to. more
