Owners changed and so did a lot at this used to be wonderful place. I used to frequent and have not been back since the ownership has changed. same for the steakhosue next door. Pros: NONE Cons: EVERYTHING more

The wait staff at this restaurant is terrible. We waited for 30 minutes, no service. When the waitress finally came, an I inquired about the wait, she said ""Don't get an attitude with me, sir."" When I asked for the owner, she said he wasn't there and the best ""higher up"" I got was some kid at the bar who didn't care. I have been to this place several times before and it's a 1/4 chance you'll actually get a decent waitress. I recommend the food highly, because it is really a fantastic recipe and the cooks have always come through. But the wait staff stinks. Period. Pros: Food Cons: Service more

My 85 year old mother purchased a $60.00 gift certificate for me for my birthday--and the new owner would not honor it! We have eaten there for years, through up and down service and food, but will never go back. The manager said she knew the certificate was legitimate--it was in her handwriting--but the owner said it didn't matter, he wasn't honoring it. Don't go to this restaurant--not customer friendly. more

We have enjoyed Casa Loma many times but they must have had an off week at our last visit. We were looking forward to having dinner on the deck and when we arrived there were plenty of tables available outside. The hostess immediately started to lead us to a table inside and when we inquired about sitting on the deck, she stated they were no longer seating and we would have to eat inside but when we left, every table on the deck was full! Please don't tell me you're no longer seating on the deck when there are tables available and you fill them after I am seated inside! The lighting inside is much too bright. Lower the lights to create more ambiance and calm down the congestion of your waiters running into each other outside of the kitchen door. Our food arrived cold and then when we received our check, a 20% gratuity was automatically added to our ticket for a party of 4 adults and 1 child. When we inquired about this we were told by the waiter that house policy is that the automatic 20% is added for a party of 5 or more. This visit has certainly jaded our thoughts about this restaurant that has been a very nice experience in the past. I hope management will take the time for additional training of their staff and make this the great restaurant that this area certainly needs. If you are out shopping in Wimberly and want a great place to eat, look no further... Casa Loma is a great place to chow! The margaritas are yummy and they dont skimp on the good stuff that goes in them! The food is great and the bands they have are a fun treat for a Fri or Sat night. When Gustavo is playing the place is jumping. Great overall place to hang out for a drink or a good eat. They have a nice steakhouse next door as well, Sullivans style! To start with, Casa Loma is a beautiful restaurant. The outside deck is stunning in its construction. It is roomy, cozy, and covered. There is an area for kids to play in the sand when they decide they can't sit still anymore. The service was top notch and our chip basket and salsa was never empty. The queso covered cheese encihladas are some of the best I have eaten anywhere, ever!!! If you are looking for a great place to eat in the Hill Country, try Casa Loma. more
