Casa De Carlos Restaurant

I was scammed to pay $78 for drinks that were advertised for about $30. I decided to take my employees to this place the Friday before Labor Day for a drink. I arrived early at the restaurant to reserve a table at the bar for my associates. I noticed a sign at hostess stand that offered Margaritas for $2. A waiter offered to have me seated in the restaurant, but I was specific to tell him I am here for drinks only and I pointed to seat in the bar. He said A/C is not working in the bar and we can order drinks from the dining room. In any event, even though we all ordered the $2 margarita specials, they charged us almost $7 per drink. I objected to the manager, and he pointed to the sign in the lobby which said $2 drinks are in the bar only. I told him I asked to be seated in the bar but the A/C was not working and we asked for the special drinks when we ordered. He did not want to hear any of it and just walked away. Stay away from these people. They are dishonest and a bunch of scammers. more

The worst service in the world!!! Why the owner, Larry has not fired that horrible little fat manager is beyond me!!! That ignorant little so and so only knows how to insult customers. I feel sorry for the staff that has to work for him. Food is below sub standard!!!! and very expensive ($16 for a nuked buritto, ridiculous) Very unsanitary conditions. I go Casa de Carlos frequently; alone & with family or friends. While the food is expensive it is usually pretty good. We normally have a coupon (buy one/get one for $12 off with purchase of 2 drinks ) - sometimes they take the coupon and sometimes they say use it next time (like last night). With the entertainment card you can dine alone and get 50% off - a nice option. more

Last Saturday ,I went to dinner with my mother and my 5 year old daughter. The food was pricy for the quality, but I did not care because I had a certificate that I had purchased online. After the meal, things began to take a turn for the worst when the waiter informed me that the manager would not honor the certificate. Although I tried to put up a good civilized argument, the manager would not budge. I went to the front of the restaurant to pay, and as he was processing my transaction I reminded the manager that he had honored the same certificate a few months back. This comment made him angry, and he replied in a rude manner. I told him that I wasn't there to be disrespected. He proceeded to slam his hand in the table, and he told me that it wasn't his fault that I never learned know how to read !! !! At this time I lost my calm, and I told him in Spanish that he lacked customer service skills. He continued to raise his voice and say more rude comments. Since he could not identify my accent in Spanish he asked me in a demeaning way if I was Venezuelan? I told him that it was none of his business, and stormed out. I felt horrible when I left the restaurant because at the end I paid for my meal, and I got mistreated for voicing my opinion. His comments were way out of line, and I think that he needs to be fired. more

To say their customer service is lacking is an understatement. On an absoultely dead Wed night their staff was slow, rude, and surly to say the least. We were waiting for our party of 15 to arrive, so some of us headed to the bar to start drinking. Everything was fine until the fat, little, grumpy old manager got upset that we were ordering drinks at Happy Hour prices. So, we told him to close out our tab and we'll go sit at the table. I don't think Casa De Carlos ever heard the time honored saying ""the customer is always right."" No, at Carlos' House not only is the customer wrong but the staff takes it upon themselves to lecture and berate their customers who happened to be confused by their utterly inane (and unwritten) happy hour policies. At the table, we ordered our food and continued to drink (now at full price) .. and what do they do? They seat a family with 4 small children next to us. Probably not a good idea to have toddlers around a bunch of drunk adults, right? Especially when you have the rest of the big, empty restaurant to seat them. Well I guess they didn't take that into consideration because they sat another family nearby soon after. We ate, drank, blew out the bday cake, and tried to have a good time anyways. But by 9 pm they cleared off our table, turned off the TV's, and dimmed the lights. A hint to leave because they're closing?? Nope, turns out the place doesn't close til 10pm! There are two types of Mexican Restaurants: Mexican and MexiCants. With terrible service, not so great ""authentic"" food, and high prices ... Carlos is the latter. Save yourself the headache and money and just go to El Torito. Cons: WORST SERVICE EVER!!!! more

Today, I went to Casa De Carlos with a friend and my son. We get there and ask for a table away from the TV's. The manager was rude but gave us a table. We attempted to order, but everything on the menu had a separate charge. I wanted the combo with 3 chicken enchiladas, and each one was charged an extra dollar to make them chicken, this is on top of them costing $14 to begin with. In addition, after the first basket of chips, the waiter told us we had to order a beverage or the chips would cost us money. Fine, we ordered one drink to split between us. The manager then comes over and throws the menu on the page and says if we don't order a drink each, we will EACH have to pay $2.95 for the chips. At which point, my friend got up to talk to the manager, saying the waiter had told us that we only had to buy one drink. The manager decided to argue the point so we left the establishment. On the way out, we realized we left the car keys on the seat, and my son went back to get them. When he did so, the manager whistled at him and came within 6 inches of kicking him. I am FURIOUS. Had he actually made contact with my son, you had better believe I would have sued him for child abuse, and any other charges I could find that would apply. Keep your kids safe, and do not go to this establishment!!!! more

My girlfriend, a friend and I all went here with a coupon ?BUY ONE ENTREE, GET ONE FREE?. We sit down. I mention the coupon; the waiter tells me we must buy TWO BEVERAGES. This puts me off, because it was NOT on the coupon. We order two sodas, although none of us wanted one. After about 40 minutes, our too expensive food comes. We eat less than half of the portions, because they're soggy and undercooked to begin with. Our waiter was cold as an icicle throughout anyway. We finish, and a half an hour later WE ALL GET SICK. ALL THREE OF US. My guy friend and I are okay by morning, but my girlfriend has to leave work early and is SICK AS A DOG through the next day: nauseu, throwing up - the whole 9 yards. I was a little wary as soon as i walked in and saw a TV sitting in between the buffet items, but still gave it a shot. The food was rediculously over-priced and terrible, and they don't even list the beer and drink prices (probably because they are way over priced as well). The staff, including our server, were extremely cold, short, and rude, and the nicest person there was the bus boy refilling our water. When we FINALLY got our food, it was cold, soggy, and over-cooked. IT WAS BARELY EDIBLE! The one single thing that was in any way decent was the free chips, salsa, and bean dip. AVOID THIS PLACE! SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO TO CHEVY'S!!! Pros: the free chips salsa and bean dip Cons: OVER-PRICED, OVER-COOKED/SOGGY FOOD, RUDE STAFF, TERRIBLE! more
