Hello I have only been at Casa De Amigos for a month. I moved in the night after Ann Olsen passed away. I did not meet her face to face. I worked with Doris and upon the severa...

They don't allow Comcast into the park, the best DSL you can get is about 3Mbps download and only 512Kbps upload. So if you work from home a lot (or after hours like me) and you ...

response to 2 sides 1/15/2009

OMG you could not be further from reality lady. If you think for one minute Ann doesn't like you due to the color of your skin, then you're an idiot. I will defend the office ladies 200%. I just don't understand people who sit and point fingers. So you had a bad experience from someone, ever think to ask her how HER day is going? I do, I love to go sit in the office and talk to Ann, Doris, Freda and DeeDee. Oh, and by the way, not everyone that works in the office is fair skinned. If you want a voice then get involved with some of the community groups. Sitting on your butt at home doesn't accomplish anything but a big butt. I read the posts here once ina while and end up laughing my butt off at some of you. If you think City search is going to get you 15 minutes of fame, then keep trying. Get involved in your community as some of us are and quit whining.\r \r I happen to love it here and have for 14 years. Pros: location, neighbors, community activities and especially management Cons: idiots that sit and whine in our park more

Who stole our flags? 12/28/2008

I'ved lived here at Casa De Amigos for 8 years. Over all, I think it's a nice park. I don't agree with the attitude of management all the time, but it could be worse.\r Anyway...Someone stole the US flag outside my home last night and from the looks of it, a number of other flags were stolen down 1st street.\r It cost me over $60 to replace the flag (embroidered stars) and pole (tangle free). I'm (a word this site won't let me use), let's just say very upset, and am interested if anyone has any idea who did it and what can be done to prevent it in the future. more

Yes there are always two sides to every story BUT not only the side your on Counts! 12/26/2008

Dear Doris and CDA Staff, have you ever considered that fact that even though you may not be the one actually perpetrating the inappropriate behaviors that your leader Ann continuously subject the residents or I guess I should say (some of the residents)to that you are just as guilty as she is If you see someone doing wrong and you allow it by supporting these acts in any way then no matter how much you try to be the nice guy you are just as guilty. Pros: Its better then being homeless Cons: UNFAIR UNJUST MANAGMENT more

To so called Customer Support Management 10/6/2008

You know what, it's so sad that you are so miserable with your life that you're consumed to try and ruin someone elses reputation. Are you friggin serious??? If you have any ounce of self respect and not so consumed with yourself that you would see Ann Olsen, Doris and Freda are doing a great job. Ann has been a part of my childrens' lives since they were babies, it wasn't only Christmas and other holidays that they would see each other. Ann would great them at the pools when they were old enough to go alone as well as many seniors in the park taught my kids to swim. You need to quit whining on the internet and either get a life or get your a$$ involved. It's up to the residents to impliment change, and I am one who speaks from experience. Sitting on my butt not getting involved doesn't accomplish anything. Quit blaming someone else for you being miserable and change it yourself. I work full time plus, I'm an officer in 2 clubs, and am raising 2 teenagers along with my partner and mother. What do you do other than trash respectible people around you and sit on your a$$ and do nothing but threaten??? If you do not like it here, then please call Grady Burke and get out. Your type does not belong in MY neighborhood.\r \r A do-er in Case De AMigos. Pros: Management, I'll say it again, Management, great neighbors, and surroundings Cons: Whiners and complainers more

To Customer Service Manager 9/19/2008

I have lived in Casa de Amigos for several years and have raised my 3 children here. Ann Olsen has ALWAYS been very nice and professional with me and my children. And more importantly she has always been fair. You really need to review the rules you were given before you decided to purchase a home here. You agreed before signing on the dotted line that you understood there is not a playground for children here, although there are very nice parks in the area for those willing to take their children down the street or around the corner. Sounds to me that you probably just want to get your way about something that is not appropriate for any of the tenants here and because you are not allowed special treatment you have resorted to being very messy. If you have truly been in the customer service field for many years then you understand this is not the way to handle an issue. If a contract is signed and you agree to the terms, going back later behind someone's back and whining that you have been wronged is ridiculous. I have a suggestion for you and your self-esteem, JUST MOVE. Since you are under the impression no one likes you and treats you so badly even though the truth is the rules apply to all of us and the squeaky wheel does not always get the oil. Also just a hint that going behind the manager's back and signing petitions, etc. is not what most of us would call working together as you put it. And good luck with the court issue since you have signed an agreement stating you agree to the terms of the park. more

discriminating management and tenants 8/21/2008

I also live in Casa De Amigos, I firmly agree that the park grounds are clean and well kept. The problem isn't the power outages, the water outages or the super clean grounds. The problem is that management along with her very dedicated group of followers are a discriminating group. It is very clear to see that even though they try to disguise their contempt for families by doing halloween parties and christmas gift for the children, in all honesty their hearts aren't really in it. The grounds are always saturated so the children cannot play on them. The gardener himself has told me the reason they do it is because Ann Olsen has stated she doesn't want the children playing on it. I have been in customer service for a very long time, I also own properties elsewhere and never would I treat my tenants they way Ann Olsen treats her tenants. I have never been rude, abrupt or harsh with Ann or any of her staff, yet somehow no matter what manner I approach them in, the response is always rude. When my family and I first moved in various neighbors had this joke about how they were waiting for ann to ""kick the bucket"" a horrific thing to say about any person. Although I do not agree with that comment it is sad to say that I see where they come from. Very smart of her though to get her friends to write good reviews on her. But the bottom line is none of the people in this park older than 50 ever wanted this to become an all age park and it urks you that families with children are moving in. frankly we need to start working together , or in the end a nice little law suit will ensue due to the fact that families don't really seem to be welcomed here. Trust me Ken has already stated that isn't where they want to end up. But after all we do live in california and the families in this park will most likely win. I've gotten wind of a lovely little petition going around, and it doesn't look good for Ann if it makes it to court. In the end we pay for our sins in this lifetime. Pros: clean community Cons: not family friendly more

A nice park 6/23/2008

I can't believe the derogatory remarks from our homeowners. Rex and I moved to Casa de Amigos in March 1978. It was the best then and still is. Ann Olsen is the best manager we have ever had. Believe me we have had some lousy ones. I wonder how nice you jerks would be if you had her job. You don't keep your property and yards in an attractive manner. Thos of us that do so, resent you. You should apologize and be thankful for the masterful job that Anne does for each homeowner every day. more

A good, clean environment 6/19/2008

I?ve been a resident of Casa de Amigos for almost five years. In those five years of living here I have nothing but respect for Ann Olsen. After reading a couple of the negative reviews, I was amazed of how disrespectful people are. Most of these individuals forget to understand Ann?s main priority is to secure the well being of the residents. So when time of chaos comes such like the power shortages, people tend to over react and instead throw a fit like little children. But in the end , Ann is only human, and you must understand that during these incidents she is put under a lot of pressure and stress. Then maybe some of you who think negatively of Ann, could relate to what she goes through and have some consideration. more

Sunnyvale's best all age community 6/19/2008

I have seen on this post a lot of negative words about Ann Olsen the park manager. I think those of you that are posting these negative comments are wrong on all accounts. My experience with Ann is that she works tirelessly for her tenants, and that those of you that speak negative about her have ulterior motives that probably are more financial than factual, if you know what I mean. Ann has her hands full with over 2000 tenants, so lighten up and give her some peace of mind. Ann is a great site manager; one of the best I have ever known. A Great lady too. Pros: Two club houses, great management more

Office staff 6/19/2008

After reading what was put on the internet from some very untruthful people I decided to give my side of the story and talk about mixed emotions. I also have had it with screaming, abuse and threatening phone calls that only a minority of people have done. Whe I came to work eleven years ago I had no idea how cruel some poeple can be. I suggested everyone who lives here be in the office for one week and they too would know the hazards of everyday war. Not only were the residents without power so were the staff and sitting in a office w/candle lights in not my cup of tea. Freda, Dee Dee, Ann and I answered all the questions on the phone and I admit curing @ us made my blook boil once or twice. If for some reason I hung up on a person it was because they would not listen and screamed foul things at me. I know that the park manager and staff ty to do everything possible when a problem comes up. I thank everyone that came to the office and wondered how other residents could be so cruel and abusive. Not caring for the tenants is a farce. I know what she has done for the clubs, Halloween parties and money she spent for Christmas presents for the children (out of her pocket) to make a success and see their eyes when they received them. Thank you Ann, my boss, and also my friend. Pros: Great place to live and work Cons: Trying to please those who cannot be pleased more

Great place to live and Fantastic management team! 6/18/2008

I am a resident of this community and have the honor of knowing Ann. I find it disgusting and cowardly of the FEW people who say nasty things about her. Ann has for the years I have known her made herself available 24/7. She goes above and beyond the call of duty on every issue that comes up and because of NO FAULT of her own on this power issue she is being villified and dragged through the mud. \r \r HOW DARE YOU! This park is the most efficient and professionally run community I have lived in. Ann further has gone into her OWN pocket every single year to buy thousands of dollars in gifts for all of the children in the park, not because she has to but becuase she is a kind and good person. I read the mindless drivel of some of the people that have said such nasty things and it disgusts me. \r \r If you were to drive around this community you would see a spotless, safe, and well maintained group of homes. This is largely in part to Ann and her staffs efforts to build a better place for ALL of us to live. I hope and pray that those who have nothing to do but complain just get the hell out of this par and make it an even better place. \r \r Pros: A safe, beautiful and well run community! Cons: Only some of the people who live here more

I like living here 6/18/2008

I've lived at Casa deAmigos for almost 5 years and I don't think I want to live anywhere else. Granted that there has been some problems but for the most part they have been handled as well as possible. Some people living here are not happy no matter the situation and nothing pleases them. Management, Ann Olsen in particular, has the responsibility to keep this park running on a daily basis. When critical problems occur, such as water outages or power outages, she is contacting the appropriate person, to get the problem rectified as soon as possible. She is on call 24/7 during these crisis periods and often gets calls from residents at all times of the day and night. Think about how you would handle a problem that affects 900+ homes, and over 3,500 residents. Would you be willing to answer the phone at 3am knowing that it is an angry resident? Problems happen, and they are usually not ones that Ann has any control over.\r Some residents, a small number of them by the way, try to instigate others into creating an atmosphere that is not typical of most residents. I've dealt with Ann many times and she has always been fair and very responsive. Ann knows the rules that govern mobile home parks and those rules are NOT hers, they are the California Civil Code Provisions concerning Mobilehome Residency Law. Every household receives a copy of these codes every year. Some residents seem to think that the rules are for everyone else, not them. If they choose not to read them, that is their business. People need to understand what a large responsibility Ann has and know that she has done it well. Most residents like it here and most residents are happy with living in a park that is clean, safe and doing all it can for the residents. I enjoy meeting other residents and have joined in many of the activities here. Its fun and knowing that I can participate without having to get in my car and drive somewhere is great. I like it here! Pros: clean, safe, many activities, good management Cons: not enough visitor parking more

Quit complaining and get involved 6/18/2008

Instead of sitting back pointing the finger and whining about what you don't like, why don't you get involved in some of the many community clubs we have. I do not think anyone in this park truly knows what it's like to babysit over 1000 people a day and listen to everyone elses complaints. Have you ever taken money out of your own pocket and purchased gifts for over 200 park children, only to have 50 no-shows. Have you ever once thought about your neighbor in a time of need and taken them food because you know they aren't able to get out of the house, I can honestly say Ann Olsen has done this time after time and not just once. Instead of sitting back and finger pointing, why don't you take a look in the mirror and think about just 1-time that you've done something for someone in your own neighborhood. Why don't you get off your asses and get involved and see the grass isn't always greener. If not, then please put your home up for sale and move back to the hood where you came from, we really won't miss you either. Pros: community & Management Cons: Whiney azz neighbors and rule breakers more

4th of July celebration 6/18/2008

Well another awesome and successful park function put on by the many Casa clubs and wow, low and behold, our own Ann Olsen was there welcoming everyone to the BBQ and festivities and selling raffle tickets. She wasn't the wicked old witch you whiners and complainers made her out to be, she was there, smiling at everyone, welcoming the residents and guests and handing out gift bags to all the parks children that attended. Were any of you trouble makers there helping out or participating, or sitting at home trying to ruin someone elses reputation. We had fun with or without you. Pros: Management care, appearence, sense of Community Cons: Nothing that I can't life without more

A Solution for the Chronic Complainers 6/18/2008

It seems like every community has them - the people for whom the rent is always too high, there's never enough parking, the manager is bad, the food at social events is lousy, and so on, and so on, and? you fill out the list.\r \r \r No matter how good things get, these people still only see the bad - and they go to huge lengths to point it out to everyone around them.\r \r \r Like Hollywood actors, there are people who are rarely seen in the media, and those who's entire lives are played out in public. The only difference is the temperament and desire of the actor to be noticed. There are those who THRIVE on negativity, on being noticed, even if and especially because of their chronic complaining. Here's my response to them.\r \r \r What you so negatively describe goes against the very grain and is counter to EVERY interaction that me and my countless clients have had with Ann Olsen and her staff at Casa de Amigos over the years. In fact, what you describe sounds terrible! I don?t know how you deal with all of these problems! There are 61 other communities in this market, countless apartment buildings, condos, and single family residences.\r \r \r If it's SO bad, please.... call me or one of my associates... I think they'll agree, we'll be happy to help you move! Pros: FRIENDLY, gracious, compassionate staff, clean grounds, efficient and effective management Cons: A small eclectic group of chronic complainers more

Love living here and LOVE the manager and her staff! 6/17/2008

I own a home in this park and have lived here for 3 years. I have always been treated with respect and in a professional manner by the manager and her staff. How anyone can blame the manager for the recent electrical problems is absolutely unfair and ridiculous. She has handled this fiasco with class and has been overwhelmingly communicative with the residents. It is not her or her staffs fault that the electricity kept going out but she has always been available to respond to each occurence.\r \r I have lived in 3 other parks over the past 20 years and this park is by far the nicest and most professionally run community I have lived in. The rules are put into place for a reason and EVERYONE is held to the same standard, PERIOD. I find it funny that the people who complain the most are the ones who never seem to want to follow rules. If you don't like it here, I say move. \r \r Ann Olson, don't change a thing. You are the best thing that has happened to this park! Pros: Cost of living, very clean, nice faciltites, and management is the best! Cons: Many of the residents more

Honest review 6/17/2008

The truth of the matter is Ann Olsen is a very good park manager. She is consistent with applying the rules to each and everyone alike and very generous with her time and efforts concerning the residents. If it were not for her efforts and effectively enforcing the park rules which, are agreed upon by each resident during the initial process before purchasing a home here, the park would not be nearly as nice as it is. PG&E was working on their equipment before the first outage and power did go out for another mobile home park in the area as well as ours. Ann Olsen was available at the office immediately and took calls from the residents. She stayed in the office each time the power went out taking calls and on one occassion did not leave until 1:00 in the morning. Everyone has ideas about what should happen from the sidelines but stand back from the armchair quarterbacking for a moment and consider if it is more important to get the power back on or type a letter and distribute it to approximately 900 homes before getting the power back on. Opinions are of course free to everyone but if you are going to post opinions be honest in what you write. I don't believe for one moment that Ann ever cussed any of you and you would be hard pressed to convince most anyone otherwise. Calling into the office and having to wait if the line is busy is a hassle but once we get through the information we are requesting is supplied. Managing a mobile home park does not appear to be an easy job and I for one would never want to take on that task so I have great respect for Ann for keeping all these homes inside the park up and running 99.9999% of the time. She is human and nature will always prevail so if there is a hiccup give her a break and think about how well you handle stressful situations. Pros: Lovely park and on top of it manger Cons: Managing adults who don't always act as such more

mobile home park 6/17/2008

What a load of vitriolic swill.\r Ordinarily, I would never give 5 stars in any review. However in this case someone needs to offset the attitude of the previous reviewers.\r Have I ever been ?hung up on? by staff? Yes, after a conversation, a thank you, and a good buy. Sometimes, when things are hectic, or in the middle of a problem. I will be asked to shorten my conversation, but always treated with respect. \r Now then: Recent problems. If you take the time to understand the nature of the problems, and the solutions to those problems, you would also know that staff is not only doing what they can to solve them, but are also living through them. They have no lights, fans, air conditioners, TV, etc.\r The latter outages were in fact caused by the person that the fuel company sent to refuel.\r He refused to fuel while the generator was running, a perfectly safe procedure. Since he was not employed by the generator company. He could not restart it. Therefore the delay.\r He also damaged something in the generator when he fueled on that fateful Saturday, causing the failure Saturday evening.\r To prospective buyers: a great place to locate, easy to get to the major highways, shopping, and entertainment. Not to mention the LIGHT RAIL.\r Pros: mostly a quiet, friendly park Cons: some residents are hatefull more

Manaeger does not care about her tenants!!! 6/1/2008

Ok so yet again yesturday sat. 5/31 the power went out twice. Do you think the manager has given us any news as to what is going on. No not even one of her very unproffesional letters she writes us telling is how peopl are not doing things they should. Well she is not doing what she should and so of course she won't write a letter cuz she is not the inocent one yet again. All peol ewant are answers and she can not give anyone them...Just tell us what is goign on. Please everyone call the # writen below by angelkat512 and complain about how she is as manager. The truth is all they need. So if you are looking at buying in this part we have wonderful residence but the management is little to desire. They do not care about the tenants not even the elderly ones just like them, nor do they give you answers to problems that have been arising in the park for 3 weeks now. Oh and if you liked to be hung up on and cused at by manager when you are calling with concerns than casa de amigos is just right for you. Glad people gfinally took a stand last night to bad Ann Olsen is a coward and yet again won't give us answers. Pros: Great community to live in. Cons: Management are very rude and very un caring. more
