Best

Being from Italy, I have a hard time finding Italian food in America that I really like. My husband and I love to go to Casa D'angelo. The food is fantastic at a resonable price...

Worst

I have given this restaurant my usually three attempts before I write a review. The first time it failed to impress me, the flavors were just not there, the second time the pasta ...

Casa d'Angelo is likely serving the highest quality cooking in Ft. Lauderdale. If you're the kind of diner that 1) pines for a premium dining experience - and doesn't mind paying for it; 2) has been to Italy and loves authentic cuisine; and, 3) enjoys a first-rate wine selection, well then you're going to appreciate Casa D'Angelo. \r \r Having dined there over 50 times, I can't recall a sour note, even a minor disappointment, or a misstep by the seasoned waitstaff. Mind you, if you think that Olive Garden serves fine Italian meals, stay away! You will find Casa D'Angelo overpriced and pretentious - plus I don't even know if you can order a Coke with your pasta. more

The title says it all. I had a basic pasta dish with ground meat that was OK, but it was definitely nothing to rave about. The worst part of the experience was the RUDE service. For example, at the end of my meal, I asked for a box to take my leftovers home, and the waiter told me something like, "umm no wait until the rest of your party is done eating" in a NASTY tone. EXCUSE ME?? First of all, my party was pretty much done. Secondly, I am the paying customer and it is the waiter's JOB to serve me and do it with a smile. Skip this place and go to La Veranda for TRULY impressive Italian food that doesn't come with an attitude. ;) more

Casa D'Angelo is the best Italian restaurant for certain people, absolutely not for everyone. Someone who is happy with Italian- American food, or chains like Macaroni Grill, should not come to D'Angelo. It is far more expensive. The ingredients, preparation and philosphy are not the same. This is an Italian restaurant for people who yearn for the type of food they can find in Milan, or Rome or Sorrento, which is very different from what most Americans think is Italian food. It is a restaurnat for oenophiles who enjoy browsing through hundreds of wine selections from Sicily through Alto Adige and everything in between, who are thrilled to find a bottle of Amarone for $100 that is found no where else. This is not a veal parmigiana spaghetti and meatballs joint. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, you need to skip this place. Otherwise, you are in for a treat. more

1. Extremely overpriced \r 2. Terrible service and attitude from both the servers and management\r 3. They will NOT split your checks\r 4. They will NOT accept more than 6 credit cards on a check. EVEN if the check is nearly $1000 and you're a party of 15\r \r The worst part about all of this is that when our party of 15 was initially sat we explained that we were ALL first time guests. You'd figure that servers or management would at least inform such a large group about their credit card/check procedures--not only for our convenience, but THEIR OWN!! \r We sat there at our table for an HOUR trying to calculate everything, while the managers, servers, and bus-boy STARED at us and laughed! When we finally broke everything down into 8 payments, it was at THAT point that the server refused and stated that he could only take 6 cards per table. NEVER mentioned anything to us in the HOUR we were sitting as he and his buddies WATCHED us make so many checks. \r \r We were very polite and patient during the duration of our dinner (half of the guests in our party have either been servers, bartenders, or both. I work in fine dining myself!)\r Had the server been better, he easily would've been given a 30% tip as opposed to the mere 18% he received on the gratuity. \r \r Don't waste your time. There's WAY nicer restaurants with much more hospitable staff and management. more

Casa D'Angelo is amazing! This is one of Fort Lauderdale's really special and premier Italian restaurants. Everything about this restaurant is right! And they now have a full bar. For entertaining, impressing a date or just spoiling yourself this is the place to go. Exceptional wine list, great service; fantastic food and save room for some truly elegant desserts including my personal favorite - the apple tarte with ice cream more

I experienced Casa D'Angelo for the first time a couple of weeks ago and was very impressed. A group of our friends and family met for dinner at the Fort Lauderdale location and enjoyed everything. The appetizers were unique (zucchini blossoms!) and tasty. We also had the antipasta appetizer, the bruschetta and the cannelini beans. The wine was amazing and the entrees were all very good and beautifully plated. I would highly recommend this restaurant for your next night out on the town. It's also refreshing to have a "nice" place to enjoy your dinner and not feel like it's just another chain restaurant. more

My expectations were sky high, but nothing was particularly great. Good food at a high price. more

I have been to Casa D'Angelo many times in all seasons, holidays, weeknights and weekends, with large and small parties. It is a fantastic restaurant, with great Italian food, as good as Italy, far better than any I have had anywhere else in the US. I understand people have different tastes, but from reading these comments, I do not understand the criticism of the service. Without fail, in every visit, I have had a friendly, helpful and professional wait staff. This is not a snobby restaurant. The waiters here are one of the restaurants best assets. more

The staff was rude and I've completely forgotten what I ordered there. What does that say about the dish I had? See title of post. more

Went with friends during the weekend of the Fort Lauderdale boat show. It was packed to the gills, but the food was great as I hear it always is. The service was gracious, and they were kind enough to put together a lovely vegetarian pasta dish with what fresh ingredients were available. My friends from out of town were impressed with Casa D-Angelo, and grateful that I suggested it. \r \r It's in a weird location, in a strip plaza, but you forget once you're inside. I'd recommend it without hesitation. more

A fabulous family owned restaurant where the food is delicious and the service unparalled in Fort Lauderdale. Angelo creates exquisite dishes (up to 20 specials per night) and these are recited to diners tableside by pleasantly attentive waiters. It is a very special dining experience. more

A romantic atmosphere with an authentic Italian menu. Definetly a great place for a nice dressy dinner, but be ready to pay $15-$30 a meal. Great selection of wine and great service! more

Chef Angelo was the clear winner at the cook off with Jean Pierre cooking school Chef JP. Best Italian food in South Florida! more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 8/6/2009

The title says it all. Mario Batale has nothing over Chef Angelo. I'd love to see Angelo compete in the Iron Chef competition. What other five star restaurant does the chef/owner personally inspect every dish that leaves the kitchen?\r I've been going there for several years, and our guests and I have had almost everything on this menu from the veal to the risotto, from the bufalo mozzarell to the fresh seafood. Never have had a bad meal, ever.\r If you are a tourist, you owe it to yourself and your family to an italian treat that can be considered the Peter Luger's of Fort Lauderdale.\r If you live here and you haven't dined at Angelo's, why not? It IS the best value and quality restaurant in the County. more
