Rude Staff 9/5/2012

The staff who answer the phone are extremely rude and in person, they are the same. In general, the staff doesn't seem to like working with animals. The vet who saw my dog was also unmannerly and when she called me to discuss my dog, she sounded irritated and in a hurry. more

This is a great veterinary practice 4/8/2011

I have been going to the Cat and Dog Hospital since November. We have had many appointments as we attempted to save our cat with kidney failure. The vets and vet techs were all very caring and helpful as they cared for my cat and taught me to hydrate her. When we knew she would not get better we had her euthanized. I never felt rushed or hurried and everyone was so supportive.\r For the persons who have complained about charges for everything try getting your oil or tires changed and check the bill for all the fees added. Overall rates are very good. I am surprised at how reasonable most things are. \r I have not had to wait long and everyone has been extremely helpful. Our pets are known by everyone and all people there seem to be such animal lovers. I know you may say they should be to work there but some offices I have been to that doesn't seem to be the case. \r We now have two kittens and have had their first checkups and shots. They have needed to be looked at for upper respiratory more

Very Happy with Service 11/4/2010

My wife and I have taken our animals to the Cat and Dog Hospital for over 15 years. We have received nothing but great care for our animals there. The staff is always caring and the doctors are very knowledgable. I wouldn't think of moving to another vet. I wonder, how many vets will some of the complainers go through before they are happy ? more

Very Greedy 10/2/2010

The clinic is not all that clean. They're also worse than hospitals, charging you for every little thing they use and/or dispose of!!!!! They were not as bad as they are now when I first started taking my cats to them more than ten years ago but I guess times are tough now and they're trying to pass their extra expenses on to their clients.\r I have no choice but to start looking for a vet. whose a little more sympathetic not only to their cat and dog patients but also to theirs owner's wallets! more

Bets Vets at a Great Price for Pets and Rescues 8/15/2010

I'm with Dachshund Rescue of North America and I've have been taking my personal pets and rescued dachshunds to the Cat & Dog Hospital for five years now. They have always worked with me to give our rescue great prices and great service. Their surgery and dentistry prices can't be touched by anyone in this area. I know because I've made a lot of phone calls getting estimates. I left my overpriced vet in Ellicott City because they wouldn't even give me a 10% discount on services for my foster dogs. I have nothing but respect for the vets and staff at the Hospital. These are people who give back to the community and don't charge the outrageous prices that others do. Many of the dogs I bring to them are older with many health problems. The vets are so kind to these little senior citizens that it is very touching. I wouldn't ever think of going anywhere else. I could tell you story after story of their kindness to me and my dogs. They are like my extended family because they are always the more

So if you want excellent care at reasonable prices , a choice of four excetional vets anda caring staff , I highly recommend the Hospital. You will not be disappointed. more

Best vet in HoCo 7/10/2010

We've been through three vets with our small dog, a yorkshire terrier. As soon as we got to the Cat and Dog Hospital we were in love. We've been going there for three years, and all of the staff knows our names and, more importantly, they ALL know our dog. Whenever we board her there, they get so excited to be seeing her again. We first discovered this vet when they offered to spay her for free when she was little, with a coupon from Howard County animal control. They did a great job with that operation, and we kept coming back. \r \r Our dog has an interesting story. When she was about 18 months old, Dr. McPartland decided to run a blood test on her because she was vomiting frequently. If she had not done that test, Lacy would almost certainly be dead by now. Dr. McPartland discovered a liver condition common to Yorkshire terriers, that is potentially fatal without treatment. After a year of traveling to specialists in Virginia, and much research, we went back to our team in Columbia an more

The Best Vet Office in MD 5/24/2010

I went to the Cat & Dog Hospital of Columbia after my older dog got into a fight with my family's new puppy. He was very nervous and scared, and the vet took great care of him. As well as giving me tips on how to avoid another situation between the two dogs. And on top of the already awesome customer service I got from everyone she only charged me for the check-up and medicine. Where as Banfield of Columbia Petsmart charges you for every thing they can think to charge you for. The Ladies in the office are some of the most patient and kind people that I have ever come into contact with. After the incident with my dogs I called the office for what I'm sure seemed like every hour. They always answered my questions and treated me with the utmost respect. I have been there several times with my dogs and have never waited more then 15 min to see the vet. And that has been on some of there busiest days. They have always answerd and responded to any problems I might be having at the time no ma more

Ignored reported symptoms, rushed to get me out... 4/23/2010

In February, I decided to take my three-year-old cat, Lily, to the Cat & Dog Hospital of Columbia for her yearly check-up and shots because I was recommended by a friend and read some great reviews. I wish that I hadn't. They had overbooked my appointment so I was left with a long wait. Once we did get in to see the vet, she rushed us through the appointment. When I informed her of several problems my cat was having she just told me not to worry about it. Two months later I had to take her to a different vet because the first one missed the fact that Lily has asthma, a heart murmur, and a slightly enlarged heart. Seeing how she had the exact same symptoms I don't understand how the vet at the Cat & Dog Hospital of Columbia missed it. Needless to say we will not be going back ever or recommending them to anyone. If you want a veterinarian who's only interest is in taking your money and doesn't care about the health of your pet then this is the perfect place. Otherwise, just go somewhere more

Try somewhere else... 4/13/2010

The front desk workers are extremely slow, unhelpful and frustrating. If you deal with a woman named Denise, I recommend asking someone else to assist you. Especially if you need to order medications from Pet Meds. I understand that this is an animal hospital, but it does not smell like the place gets cleaned often. I have visited several times and it smelled like wet dogs each time. The vets seem knowledgable, if you don't mind waiting a long time. I am looking for a new vet clinic. more

VERY slow and disorganized 4/1/2010

I like the personality of the people and doctors that work here but you better have a good 2 hours of time blocked out of your day just to walk in there. They are extremely slow and don't seem to care about the length of time you are waiting to see a doctor or just pick up your pet. Also, (this probably explains the slowness) the front desk is extremely disorganized and not helpful. Also, like mentioned by another reviewer, forget about trying to get something from Petmeds.com! more

D 2/2/2010

Cat and Dog hospital is a wonderful caring place to take your pet. I believe their rates are competitive and it is unreasonable to expect them to be able to offer the highly discounted rates of rescue operations. Dr. McPartland spotted my pets health problem almost a year before it was apparent to us. They have been wonderful in making sure our cat has the best care possible. more

Wonderful, caring vets and staff 2/1/2010

The vets and their assistants here really love animals. They have taken good care of my two cats for many years. I am delighted with them and would not go anywhere else! more

Cat & Dog Hospital Of Columbia DOES NOT SUPPORT STRAY RESCUE AL 12/5/2009

I helped a stray cat in our neighborhood when she was about to have kittens. Once they were old enough I called to find out how much the rescue discount would be since I was working with a local rescue group to get them all adopted. ( I already have 8 rescued cats of my own). They claimed that it would be $100 each for the females and 85 for the males. Thats nearly 500 dollars!!!! They said that this WAS the discoutned rated as they normally charge $300 for female cats. THIS IS A FULL LIE!!!!! I have had my personal cats altered there for not nearly the DISCOUNTED rate much less $300!!!! This is entirely unacceptable especially sine I trying to do the right thing by caring for them and trying to get them proper homes. This is not even my cat!!!! I WILL NEVER AGAIN RECOMMEND THIS CLINIC!!!!!!! more

Great Place 4/23/2008

I have been using Cat and Dog Hospital in Columbia for about 25 years. Drs Feinstein and McPartland and Oltman are all great. And the techs and receptionists are wonderful, too. Everyone I deal with at the hospital is compassionate and knowledgeable. I find the staff always exceeds my expectations. All of my cats have always gotten excellent care. My current cats are 14 and 17 years old. more

GREAT! 1/17/2008

I love this facility. The staff is friendly and I always know my rabbits are in good hands. Dr. McPartland goes above and beyond to help out with spaying and neutering our rescue animals, as well as those at the Humane Society. I wish all vets were this altruistic and caring. We need more vets like her! more

Excellent 1/10/2008

They truly care about you and your pet. My cat was always well taken care of. She recently passed, but they were helpful through it all. I intend on taking my future pets to this clinic (even though I now live in Glen Burnie). Their rates are competitive, but healthcare in general is expensive. They are friendly, helpful, and very professional. Dr Kelso was especially awesome. more

Convenient and high-tech 11/8/2005

This is a wonderful and conveniently located vet. I've never had to wait when I came in for an appointment, and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They give you a down to earth diagnosis of your pet's illness and have the high-tech equipment needed to put Sparky on the road to recovery. Of course, medical care is not cheap even for animals, but their costs are competitve. Appointments can usually be made for within a couple days of calling. more

Caring Veterinary Practice 11/8/2005

We have taken our old dog to this veterinary practice for the last 6 years and have been very happy with the care she has received there. They are definitely pet lovers all around. The vets have been very helpful dealing with her arthritis and related pain issues. We're now taking our two puppies there and expect to have a long relationship with this business. Dr. Feinstein is particularly delightful (very funny, as well!) more

Carrolltown Vet 11/3/2005

I have had wonderful experiences with this Vet. They are very knowledgeable and extremely gentle with my pets. They are always on top of things. Sending out reminder cards and letting you know when the next shots need to be given or medicines need to be purchased. They are also very good about fitting you in for an emergency appointment. more
