Carpet Source

We called Carpet Source and they came to our house to show us some samples. What I really enjoyed was not having to go to a store to pick samples out, they came to us and were very helpful and answered any questions we had. They came a few days later and took out the old carpet and replaced it with the new carpet that we had picked out. It took the crew about six hours to complete the job and it came out great. They moved our large furniture before and after and we definitely appreciated that. We were very satisfied with our experience that we'd consider hiring them again the next time we need carpets installed. I prepare market homes and design homes and I always go to go to Carpet Source for all my carpet needs. If i need carpeting I just call them and that's it. We have used Carpet Source twice in our rental house after tenant's dogs destroyed the carpet. Both times they came out within two days to provide a quote and not more than two days later the carpet was installed. Installation was fast and well done. We are happy. Carpet Source re-carpeted my entire home. They were prompt, thorough, and very careful with our furniture. I really liked that they brought the carpet samples to my house. They're very nice to deal with. They even gave us two days in between the installation in order to move our furniture from one side of the house to the other. The folks at Carpet Source were very responsive. The workers were capable, fast, and did a wonderful job. The owner even came back to replace the washer/dryer himself--they had been moved in order to make room for the carpet and he wanted to make sure they got back to the right spot. This is the second time I've been a customer of Carpet Source, and I've been very pleased with them! I was very happy with the owner who came out and did the estimate. He came on a Saturday, which isn't usually a workday, because I had a damage problem that needed to be assessed. The two installers were very proper and pleasant. They were replacing the carpet in my kitchen, and the refrigerator had to be moved. I had mistakenly thought that it could be moved in one direction, but it wouldn't go through the door, so the gentlemen had to rearrange some other furniture in order to get it through the other door. They performed the extra work pleasantly and gracefully, without complaint. They were very careful, and didn't damage anything. The carpet installation went fine. There was one little ravel, which they came back and repaired. I noticed that sometimes, when it's very hot in the house, there is a small wrinkle in the carpet. The installer said that if this happens again, I can just call them and they will come and fix it. I called the owner to let him know how pleased I was! more

For the most part, I had a good experience with Carpet Source. They installed carpet in my entire home and tile in the bathroom. I was most impressed with the installation crew. All of the installers were extremely professional and courteous. They moved my furniture with such care, and I was confident in what they were doing. Tim set the deal for me. There were positives and negatives to my experience with him. He was courteous, nice, and patient with us. He gave the bid and estimate while it was snowing. His whole presentation led me to choose his service over their competitors. My main complaint, and why I have a sour taste left in my mouth, is the problems that arose from getting the tile in the bathroom installed. I knew what I wanted from the get go, tile trim around the baseboard of the bathroom. But, I was talked out of it, because I was told it wouldn't look very professional due to rounded corners. Well, I thought about it a little bit, and saw that my church had a room with a similar installation I was looking for, so I knew that it was possible. When I decided that I wanted to go ahead with the tile, I was given an outrageous price for it. Had I known the price to begin with, I wouldn't have done the tile at this point in time. I felt that I should have been given more information up front. When I tried canceling it, I was informed there would be a 15% restocking fee. This brought us to the point of renegotiating. Now, I don't like to haggle, especially when I already knew what I wanted, and how much I was willing to spend on the project. And now I felt like the restocking fee was being used in a threatening manner. Eventually we resolved the issue. But, I never spoke with Tim again. The thing for me is, I knew what I wanted. I wanted a fair price, to know the cost upfront, so that I would know if I could afford it or not. Anyway, the issue with the tile weighs on the experience, and is why I can't rate the experience as a five overall. The convenience of them coming to the house was a plus. Not having to pay for an estimate was a plus. The installers were courteous and professional. I just wish the salesperson knew more about the specifics. I wish the issues that arose were solved in a less confusing manner, and that I didn't feel like I was overcharged for something I wanted initially. This was my first time using Carpet Source. They were really good. They were experienced and knew what they were doing as well as were friendly. Moreover, they didn't make a mess. They cleaned up after themselves afterwards. Most people say they will clean up, but they don't really do it. Carpet Source's people vacuumed around where the carpet had shed.
