Margarita's on the patio! Ole and happy frijoles! This place has a huge patio, overlooking some kind of canal with lattice work pergolas and such. Heck just look at the pictures. Very quiet, no traffic noise. Just the gentle sound of crunching chips all around.
The 70 degree weather was just great to eat parilladas in the shade. I know you're wondering was the heck are parilladas? Well, the look like, taste like and smell like fajitas. So why don't they just call them fajitas and be done with it? Beats me, but a whichever they were, I ate all on my plate with relish, gusto and delicious flour tortillas. At least they still call a tortilla a tortilla!
The sides were really good as well, especially the guacamole and pico de gallo. A full ice-cream scoop of tasty guacamole and pico needed their own plate, they were so big. The rice and refried beans also came on their own plate. A large plate of sizzling fajitas and the table was full up. Three plates (four, if you include the tortillas) all for ME! I'm still full, and this was almost eight hours ago. Easily splittable for two. Please, don't try to eat it all in one meal. At least take some home with you. No mas! (At least not until manana).
My wife had the lunch special # 5, 2 cheese enchiladas with chili con carne, rice and beans. ($7.95). She said it was delicious and, "just the right sized lunch for ONE" (her own emphasis) as she stared with disdain at my empty plate. (Pause while I relive my gluttonous shame -- OK, that's enough).
Needless to say, there was no room for dessert.
So, why no five star review. Well, I'm a tough reviewer and that fifth star doesn't come easy. The only thing I didn't absolutely enjoy, was the rather weak salsa. I mean, if the salsa doesn't singe my tonsils, there's no 5 star! Maybe next time.
