Editorial review from Citysearch 8/21/2013

My name is Lorraine Roberson and I recently went to Dr. Jones for a Root Canal. This was an emergency and the\r treatment I recieved was excellent. Dr. Jones showed me a\r lot of patience and care knowing I was very nervous and\r scared. After reviewing other xrays of my other teeth, Dr.\r Jones recommended I get two cavities filled, this was done\r with very little pain. Dr. Jones also adjusted my lower partial\r so it would fit better in my mouth and enhance my smile. I\r could not be happier. This was a very pleasant experience\r and I highly recommend him for any dental work you need.\r Thumbs Up.. Dr. Jones. more

If you want the best, go to the best! 10/28/2011

I have been going there for 2 years and just went there this week for a routine visit. I have been nothing but satisfied with my experience with Dr. Jones and staff. It's a shame that people that do not know how to pay their bills in a timely manner or have zero pain tolerance try to take out their anger in other avenues. Dr. Jones is very professional, has state of the art equipment, and has been able to properly identify and solve all my dental issues. You even get to watch TV! How can that be so bad? They are extremely flexible with a working professional's schedule and needs for last minute appointment changes. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a dentist in this area. more

Report card from my visit 10/28/2011

If I had to give Dr, Jones and his staff a letter grade for their office, I would have to give him an A+. The level of professionalism and courtesy was extraordinary and off the chart. This was the most pleasant experience of my life. I would definitely recommend Carolina Dental Partners to anyone in need of any dental work. It would be in your best interest to visit and experience dentistry at its finest. more

Terrible Dental Provider!! 10/26/2011

Do not use this dental provider! First, the actual work is shoddy and rushed as they are always overbooked. Dr. Jones will run from room to room and halt in the middle of a procedure to tend to another patient. I had work done there in 2008 and I am now having to have ALL of the work re-done as it was poorly completed. Not only am I having to pay again to correct the pitiful work, I am now in COLLECTIONS for a bill from 2008 that has been PAID! I have confirmed via my bank and even spoken to someone at the office who says I have no balance. Yet collections claims that they have verified with the office that I have an outstanding balance PLUS INTEREST. Now I can not reach the office after calling them for two days; messages not returned. You are a fool to use Dr. Mark A Jones DDS @ Carolina Dental Partners. Do yourself a favor and stay away. more

Worst Dentist ever! 10/14/2010

Dr. Jones filled several teeth and I experienced excessive pain during the procedure and from excess material. \r \r During the procedure he did not let the lidocaine (used so you don't feel the shots) sit before he started the novocaine shots and they were not allowed to sit before he started drilling. When I told him that I had pain he laughed told me I was exaggerating then administered 5 more shots. \r \r When I left that day I was miserable my heart was racing for the excess novocaine and I was numb upto my hairline. This took hours to wear off. When it did I was in pain and was bleeding where he had given me the shots.\r \r The excess material from this filling was between 2 teeth and caused a tooth ache when I would bite down. I had to return several time to get it fixed each time Dr. Jones laughed and said I could not be in pain. This pain lasted for several weeks.\r \r This was not unique my neighbor had a similar experience with Dr. Jones.\r \r I never went back. The new dentist I found had to remove excess material from all the fillings the Dr. Jones did. more

Great Experience 5/1/2010

When I went to the dentist I discovered that I needed a root canal for the first time and I was a little anxious because from what I had heard they hurt a lot. Dr. Jones is very professional and exprienced that it really wasn't that painful. Every other visit has been a joy and I always leave with a smile. Pros: Friendly staff, great location, painless visits more

Rude and unprofessional receptionist and insurance biller 3/17/2009

We have decided to change dentists after several encounters with Dr. Jones staff. The dentist is not bad at all but his staff is extremely rude and unprofessional. They go out of their way to make you feel bad about asking questions or scheduling appointments. In fact, I have been so discouraged that I have even left messages for the dentist to call me back directly to discuss. I am pretty sure that the messages didn't get to him so I had to schedule an appointment for a cleaning in order to discuss my concerns. Once I visited my new dentist, I realized that there are way better dentists out there who are patient and whose bedside manners are much better. It also helps to have a kind staff who is willing to address your questions and concerns with a certain level of care and professionalism. This one is not worth it. Trust me! Find a new dentist and double check your insurance bill. Pros: not worth any of the pros Cons: Staff! Staff! Staff! more

Great experience! 11/21/2007

My wife, 2 boys and myself recently relocated to the triangle and found Dr. Jones for our dental needs. I only saw a couple of the postings in this site after I made the appointment for my wife and kids but decided to give Dr. Jones a fair shake and give it a go. My wife is very hard to please and she was very happy with her service. My boys really liked him and I have had an examination and a filling (like my wife) and have found this to be a top run place. Very friendly, efficient and fast - great prices too! I don't know if things used to be a certain way (other postings) but our experience has be nothing but super! Pros: NO pain! more

Do NOT See this Dentist 10/19/2007

My root canal experience with Dr. Jones was nothing but one problem after another. \r \r 1st I had to wait 30 minutes for him to get back from lunch before he could see me, which he never apologized for making me wait. \r \r 2nd he told me I didn't know what I was talking about when I said I had never had a cavity filled before since he thought he had seen one on the x-ray. But, unless someone drugged me, took me to the dentist, had a cavity filled and brought me back home before I could wake up, I've never had another cavity! \r \r 3rd he got angry with me and laughed at me because I said I was still in pain while he was drilling. A few minutes he found a LIVE NERVE and started laughing, saying that it was what was causing me pain. He never apologized for not taking me seriously about the pain either. Then he laughed at me again when I became startled when he cauterized the nerve with out any warning me that he was going to do it or that it would be very painful. I've had two babies, naturally, I know what pain is, and that was painful!\r \r Dr. Jones was rude, disrespectful, unprofessional, demeaning and childish through the whole procedure. One thing you can be sure of, he will never again touch my teeth! \r Pros: Willing to Bill Insurance, with a few dirty looks Cons: Rude, unprofessional, disrespectful more

Friendly staff, low prices, Saturday hours 10/16/2006

I was seen in Dr. Jones' office on 8/31/06 and was very impressed with the treatment that I received. I read the above posts and wondered if these people realize that if your insurance is in network, the doctor accepts what is paid. Also, some insurace companies do not pay the difference between a silver filling and a tooth colored filling. As an employee in the medical/dental field for many years, I know that doctors/dentists don't always know what the insurance company will pay and when they give an amount owed it is only an estimate. I also know that some people are not familiar with what is going on and they may have a temporary filling or crown and that it will fall off because it is a temporary! As a patient of Dr. Jones', I would hope that you would check into the above postings before making a decision. Also, I have seen four different dentists since living in Raleigh and he is the most reasonable. I also believe that the improper grammar of some of the above postings will let you know what kind of people they are. Keep up the good work! more

Terrible service 8/15/2006

When I called to make the initial appointment, the receptionist became aggitated and offensive over calrification of my insurance company. That should have been my first clue. My appointment went well at first, but then Dr. Jones fixed the wrong tooth. On my way out the receptionist told me I needed an evaluation exam. As my office was extremely short staffed and I couldn't get away durring the week, the receptionist offered a saturday appointment for 9 am on June 10th. I accepted the card she gave me which had the date and time clearly marked. That Saturday I showed up at 8:45 and waited until 9:15. Nobody ever came by. The following Monday I called to pay the balance on my bill and was told that the receptionist did not have access to the computer system and I couldn't pay that day. I told her I was not planning on coming back because nobody had shown up for my appointment but me and she said 'we don't do Saturday appointments.' I was very confused and instead of arguing I decided to just let it go and reitterated the fact that I would not be coming back & she said she would put it in the computer that I wasn't returning. The next day I recieved a message on my cell from the same receptionist calling to confirm my appointment for the following *Saturday.* At this point I was thoroughly confused and called back to AGAIN state that I would not be coming in and that my appointment had been for the Saturday past. It took them a month to send me a bill and then last night I opened my mail and found two bills dated 8/7/2006 and 8/8/2006 respectively.\r I just paid my bill this morning and I sincerely hope they get *that* part right.\r This whole experience has been a complete waste of my time and money and hopefully more people will consult citysearch before visiting this dentist...I wish I had. Pros: Proximity Cons: Incompetent staff, horrible record keeping more

Never again 5/23/2006

I wish I would have found this site BEFORE I seen Dr. Jones, I would have heeded the cautions from the previous two posts about their horrible experiences. This was truly the worst dental experience of my life. I was the first appointment of the day which was 45 minutes late because Dr. Jones was late coming in. He didnt even apologize. Not very professional, and this should have been my first clue. It took him over an hour to drill one tooth for a filling. After my appointment I found small pieces of my tooth on my shirt, which I have never had that happen before. Dr. Jones also charged me an enormous amount . The billing and customer service was an utter nightmare. I got stuck with paying his huge fee's for what I consider extremely poor service. Cons: rude, expensive, unprofessional more

no pain 3/12/2006

I take my hat off to Dr. Jones for getting me through all of my dental care with ease and no pain... I must admit, I am a wimp when it comes to pain and with the local anesthetics I received, I am no longer afraid to go to the dentist. I also appreciate the saturday hours and availability for working people like me. Pros: no pain, excellent care, great staff more

Horrible Experience 3/10/2006

I seen Dr. Jones for a routine filling. Later that day when the numbness subsided I realized my mouth was very sore. Upon inspection I seen that there was a huge blood spot way in the back of my mouth on my cheek (where my teeth cant even reach) as well as cuts all along my gumline and under my tongue. When I tried to call the Dr about this, he wouldn't return my call. Then after recieving my ins benefits statement I seen that he charged a total of $570 for two fillings, he only did ONE. I am stuck with paying $230 of this. I have had the same ins. co for several years and have had dental work (fillings, root canals, etc) at other dental offices.. never have I had such a horrible dental care. This Dr. obviously is all about the money. Pros: Location Cons: unprofessional, uncaring, money-hungry more

Worst Service Ever! 6/15/2005

What concerns me the most about this situation is the dishonesty and disrespect reflected by your office staff. Even though I asked specifically how much the fillings would cost, I was not given the correct answer. When I called later to speak with the office manager about this, she became quite rude and hung up on me. When a patient enters a medical facility, he or she already has a certain amount of trust in the staff. I have never been treated so unfairly and with such disrespect, and I am saddened that someone in the healthcare field would take their job so lightly. more
