We have used Bieber for over 20 years to travel to and from NYC without worrying about parking. We drive to Wescosville, park and leave our car at the terminal. Until recently, it has been a satisfactory arrangement. Two weeks ago, we waited in line for the 1PM bus from Port Authority for over an hour to get good seats together. We were sixth in line. Apparently there were over 60 in the line when it was time to depart so drivers divided us into two buses according to our end destination. After each bus had more than 30 occupants, the dispatcher decided there would only be one bus leaving at that time and 30 people on our bus were told to either be seated or stand on the other nearly-full bus or wait 2 hours for the next bus. By the time our bus emptied, the aisles on the other bus were full of elderly people who would have to stand for two hours. No seats and almost no room in the aisle, we stayed at Port Authority for another two hours. I have knee and back problems and the idea of standing for two hours on a moving bus (let alone if there were an accident) was horrifying to us. We waited, standing in line again for over an hour. There were two others who also waited and the bus driver did make sure we were at the head of the line when boarding. It was a very long and frustrating afternoon, made worse by the fact that we did everything right to be on that first bus. Incidentally, once they filled our bus at 3PM, they put 11 people on a second bus at 3PM. They didn't have to wait another 2 hours. Clearly, the decision to insist on one bus at 1PM with a second bus nearly full was not about economics or scheduling conflicts. We wrote a letter to the VP/General Manager asking for an explanation as to this decision but, after two weeks, we have heard nothing. A few other unpleasant incidents on the commuter buses have made us decide that Bieber doesn't care about its passengers' welfare. We will certainly not be traveling with this company in the future. Safety is not a priority for them.
