Carenza Color Cutting Experience

I've been a client of Carenza for 5 years now. From the staff at the front desk to the actual service providers, you couldn't ask for a better team! The atmosphere is modern, yet inviting. The employees are all very knowledgeable and don't push products/services on you - they truly listen to your needs and find a solution best suited for you and your needs. My stylist is Shaun and I've never had a better experience with any other stylist anywhere. Expect a great color/cut and get ready to laugh - he's hilarious! I highly recommend him if you're looking for a best-in-class experience. more

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! I went to get the "ombre" look which is dark at top and slowly fades to lighter and looks natural and like a beach look. Sean was my stylist, I brought in several pictures of what I wanted it to look like, and he continued to color my hair like they way that he thought I wanted it. After washing my hair he then curled it, I liked it when I left. (I spent 140 on this look) When I got home and straightened it I realized he had done a HORRIBLE job there were dark streaks and chunks in the light part of my hair and the color was so uneven I could've done a better job out of a box at home! I couldn't even wear my hair down without getting looked at funny. I called and complained and they had me come in to fix my hair for free. I arrived and had Jenny as my stylist she acted as if nothing was wrong with my hair and had the manager come out and they both said " since your hair was dark there will be some pieces that the color wont pull through all the way" ( i kept thinking in my head so im supposed to look like a zebra??!!?) They continued to tell me they couldn't just dye my hair back to my solid brunette color before ( because i would have to pay for it!!) they could only try and re-do the ombre look they already messed up..after 20 minutes of prying at them they agreed to dye it my original hair color. SERVICE WAS UNEXCEPTABLE, and extremely rude. NOT ONCE did anyone from the place apologize for what they had done to my hair or admit that the first stylist had messed up....needless to say I will never go back there again i ended up paying 160 for them to damage my hair be rude to me and dye it back to the color i first had. I hope nobody ever has to go through with this EVER. more

I travel a lot for work and used this website to track down a good salon. I am so glad I did. I have short hair and was looking for some razor cut finishing. I was booked with Mickey. She is FANTASTIC! She listened to what my needs were and gave me a cut even better than I expected. She showed me a new way to style. She has 13 years of experience and has a large client base, so you have to book ahead. She also told me Ingrid taught her how to do razor cuts and to ask for her if Mickey is booked. I travel to this area often and will definitely schedule again at this salon. Make sure to check their website for discounts. I missed out on $20 off my first hairbut - bummer! It would've been nice if they'd provided this discount regardless. But, I'll be back! more

I agree with all the reviewers. Carenza is great. I am a serial monogomist when it comes to hair stylists. When I find one I like I stick to her (never found a guy yet) without straying. I was getting my hair cut at the famous Bumble and Bumble in Chelsea, NYC for three years before I found Holly at Carenza. Frankly, I get just as good--or better--cuts and color with Holly for a fraction of the cost. Their prices are very reasonable for the service and quality you get. Sometimes its hard to get an appt with Holly, as she only works two days a week. But in an "emergency" the staff is very helpful in coordinating care with other stylists in the salon, so Holly can guide/participate in my cut and color. I would recommend in a heartbeat. more

I was a client of Carenza for many years before moving to Scottsdale AZ. Nicole was my stylist and always did a great job getting me from a dark-haired brunette to a cool platinum blonde. She'd listen to me and my goals with my hair. Even when I was growing it out she never cut more than the "shnibbles" off of the ends, just to clean up my look. My hair was in the best shape it's even been in during the years at Carenza. I only wish I could find a salon or stylist like that in my new town! Pros: Best color, best cut, always listen! more

I love this place. I have been going to Carenza for 11 years now. I am always happy with my hilights and color and haircut. The atmosphere is relaxing, yet trendy. I feel like i JUST WALKED INTO A RUNWAY SHOW....I leave feeling great about my hair and myself. I always enjoy my conversations there as well. I am amazed by the large number of stylists and staff Carenza has employed that make up a special group called the 10+ Year Club. I have been a loyal customer of Carenza for many years and have enjoyed getting to know so many of these talented , creative and experienced professionals. I find it remarkable that these 12 senior team members continually commit themselves to the highest level of service to their clients and mentoring the young talent. I am very upset about this salons etiquette. I applied for a job there and they decided it wasn't important to call me back even if I wasn't one of the people they were looking at hiring. I understand everyone cannot be hired, but I feel it is important to call back the people that take the time to come in for an interview and send thank you notes and follow-ups. I also think it would be polite to send an e-mail, even, to let them know that they are full and not interested in hiring any more stylists, so that the people that did come in to visit and research your salon would know that they can start looking at other salons that actually are interested in them instead of waiting a week or two for a salon thats not interested in them. I loved my experince at Carenza. I had a total makeover last week. I went from over blonde to fabulous! The atmosphere was amazing! Massage chairs for shampoo area!! Great drinks. A real value in relaxation. I have had some of the more experienced gals and they are so nice and knowledgable! Some even have some sort of color test certification that is very impressive. The best money well spent when I leave feeling beautiful and receive so many complements. Very unpretentious and friendly atmosphere! Try it you won't be dissapointed! I went to THE OWNER thinking he'd do a great job. IM STILL CRYING! A month later. My hair was down to my waist. I showed him several pictures of exactly what I want. LONG. Avril Lavine type haircut. He cut off 12 inches. My hair is naturally curly, he and his assistant first straightened it without shampooing. Then we talked in detail as to how I?d like it. He showed me exactly what he?d do before he cut it. I was excited. Angled in the front to long in the back And Bam he cut it straight across the back all off to above my shoulder blades 12 INCHES!. And it took The the owner 3 1/2 hours to do it ON DIRTY HAIR. they straightened first. And did NOT shampoo me after. He knew he did a bad job so did not charge me. But he should have paid me for all the hair he took from me. Not only did he cut it all off it has no shape. It looks like a square bob just past my shoulders. I had to then go home shampoo and streighten it my myself I had an event to go to. It looks hideous curly I can only wear it straight. IM STILL CRYING. Im devastated! The place is decorated nicely and the cut was ok but the highlights I got were nothing but horrible - orange/yellow and my hair was so dry. I have had highlights in the past and there were no problems but the stylist didn't use heat or keep the color on long enough. I shouldn't have to tell someone what to do especially for $200. Being that it's only a day after Thanksgiving, I felt it was important to give a special thanks to the place that leaves me smiling after every visit...I have most recently gotten my hair cut for the third time and every experience I've had at Carenza has been exceptional...It starts from the moment I walk in, to the moment I leave. It's so relaxing and gives you that comfortable feeling that you can't find anymore...The layout of the salon is fabulous and its interior design is remarkable...The customer service has been outstanding and more importantly my hair cuts are amazing...The young lady that cuts my hair is Stephanie...I'm always greeted with the biggest smile, and a nice conversation to go along with it...She allows me to keep the hair cut I have if I prefer it, otherwise she always has some new updated style that is way ahead of the trends...It's like the styles that celebrities always have in magazines, that we always wish our hair could look like...My co-workers and more importantly my wife are constantly complimenting my new hair style and say that I always get what they call "model cuts"...I feel great and in turn that reflects not ony my work but also my attitude...Thanks to the place that makes me feel that way..."Carenza" I'm so happy and realize I'm fortunate to have such a great place so close to where my family lives...Take it for what its worth but anytime you leave a place in today's society feeling like a million bucks, its a very special feeling...Thanks again... When first walking into Carenza in Brookfield, the bright coloring and unique music makes it a fun place to be. The large plasma screen TV's mounted on the walls in the lobby area plays different types of shows, mostly pertaining to top hair stylists and a few top fashion designers. The wide variety of hair products (Bumble and Bumble, my favorite, and Aveda products) make it easy for a person to waste time before waiting for their appointment. They also have a full makeup counter, a nail salon and waxing as well. Carenza's stylists exude large amounts of professionalism, but are also friendly and it is easy to form hair-stylist and client relationships. I have had two different hair stylists at Carenza and both are fabulous. It is extremely easy to communicate my ideas with them and they're always asking questions to confirm what exactly I want. The best part about Carenza (besides walking out and feeling like a million bucks) is the "blue room". Calming music, a soothing aqua / light blue wall and amazing massage chairs make it a wonderful place to have your hair washed. The stylist tops it off with a heavenly head massage. I highly recommend my stylists, Erik or Rosa. Pros: friendly staff, unique atmosphere, talented stylists, head message. Cons: takes about two weeks to get in, depending on stylist. Expect to pay a little more for more experienced stylists. more

The new Carenza is in Brookfield, near the mall. I'm new to Mikwaukee and needed a colorist. Recommended by someone and just looked online about the place. I saw all the stylists and was able to search the perfect colorist with the best experience. The place was beautiful and so modern. I love it there and my colorist is perfect for me. I like a place that's open about their stylists and shows all their bios to compare what person I need for my individual needs. By showing their bios, it encourages the staff to constantly better themselves. This place is always busy, I have to book 3 months in advance just to see my colorist, amazing.
