Capital Plumbing

This company was selected by my home warranty company to look at my leaky shower valve. After about a week of pestering them to finally make an appointment, their ""plumber"" walked up to my shower, turned it on and off, then walked back to his truck and submitted a report to the home warranty company. His report concluded that we had performed ""unauthorized work"" on the shower, which conveniently happens to invalidate coverage under my home warranty. Before leaving he did take time to mention that if the home warranty failed to cover he'd be happy to come out and repair at my expense for about $500. After the home warranty company informed me that they would not be covering the repair or reimbursing the $100 I paid to Capital Plumbing, I tried repeatedly to get Capital to send me a copy of the report they had submitted to the home warranty company. They promised three times to send it. I never received a report, not even an invoice or receipt for the $100 they required over the phone before they came out. I eventually found another plumber to provide a second opinion. Not surprisingly, he said there was no possible way a plumber could determine ""unauthorized work"" by simply looking at the shower handle and turning it on and off one time. He also said my problem was a common occurrence that occurs over time due to normal wear and tear from use and chlorine in the water, which would clearly be covered by my home warranty. The only logical conclusion is that Capital Plumbing colludes with the home warranty company to tell them exactly what they need to hear to deny coverage. This company is corrupt. I used A. Mann Plumbing and they were quick, honest, and reasonable. The repair cost under $100 more

I had them out to fix a leaky toilet for me because my regular plumber was on vacation. I had sticker shock when they charged me over double what I usually pay for service. My toilet ended up leaking the next day after they left so I called my regular plumber to fix it again. He said they never set the toilet right when on the last service call as far as he could tell. I have dealt with numerous plumbing companies over the years, and Capital Plumbing is by far the best. They have always been courteous, professional and timely, and charge a fair price. more

I have read reviews and I honestly do not know how this organization receives any positive ratings. My home warranty company contracted this organization to replace my air conditioning compressor. more

I would use this company again and I have recommended them to my friends. I had a back up in my basement and they came right out. The technician knew exactly what needed to be done. He cleaned out the main sewer line. When he was done he cleaned up after himself. He even wore those caps over his shoes. The price was exactly what he said that it would be before he started. A $30 service charge just to get an unreasonable, inaccurate estimate; rude and insulting employees; and terrible customer services means this company should be avoided. Find a local plumber who will be appreciative of the work and will care about the services provided, not one of these 'mega-plumbers' that only care about getting in and out in as little time, with as much money, as possible. I was woke up in the middle of the night to find that my basement had flooded due to the excessive rain. My sump pump had failed and I unfortunatly I did not have a back-up sump pump. I called several plumbing companies but was only able to talk to a real person when I called Capital Plumbing. I was relieved when the dispatcher (Tricia) told me that she would send a technician out immediately. When the plumber arrived he was clean and professional. He explained all of the options to me and went over the pros and cons of different back-up units. I decided to purchase a water powered back-up sump pump, because I liked how it would continue to operate even if my power was down for a long period of time. The price of the new sump pump and back-up unit was very fair, but most importantly I now have the peace of mind that my experience with my basement flooding will not happen again! more

I had them come out to install a battery backup sump pump. Of course he wanted me to buy a water powered back up witch they sell. Had to point out several items on the factory installation manual that came with the pump, which he failed to adhere to until I said something. Pros: punctuality Cons: cost more
