See Ya!!! 8/4/2011

I had used Capital Air for more than 5 years - not anymore! I called them last Friday because my upstairs A/C went out. Told them I had heard the fan on the unit out side making noise and believed the fan bearing had seized up. Guy got out around 2 pm and after testing everything tells me that it's a bad fan motor. OK, I can live with that. Then he tells me that the fan motor is back ordered and they won't have one until Monday morning!!! - and it's going to be between $350 and $425! Said OK but wasn't happy. I'm somewhat mechanical and changing a fan didn't scare me so I started to call around to see if I could find a motor. First A/C warehouse I called had ""a bunch of them"". Went and got one. Paid my $89 plus tax. Two hours later we had A/C. Oh, and when I called to cancel the Monday appointment on Saturday morning, the first questions was if I had one or two A/C units? When I said two, I was informed they don't make weekend calls if we have two units and one is running. I politely informed them that I was cancelling an appointment. more

Don't use Capital Air 6/3/2011

On June 2 I called Capital Air to have my Upstairs AC unit fixed. The problem was it would not cool during the heat of the day. So they sent the service guy out in the morning to fix the issue. He put Freon in the unit. I get home at 1:30 and the upstairs is 84 degrees with kids trying to sleep. I call Capital and they send the same guy back. He does nothing to fix the problem again telling me the unit is fine. So the unit works no better today then yesterday. I called to talk to a manger just to see if they would work with me because I spent $229 dollars for a repair that is still broken. I kept hearing it's to hot to fix the AC unit in Texas but this AC unit just broke. So I called to see why they can't fix the problem and get my money back. The Manager just keep saying I'm sorry sir you see it that way but we fixed the Unit. I feel like if you pay a professional to fix a problem and they have a warranty it should work or I should get my money back for repairs never done. more

bad instal caused Mold 6/2/2011

They deserve 0 stars. worst company I have ever dealt with. And the good reviews on here were written by people that work there. Go ahead, call them and ask for Diane Donovan. They did the install on my new construction house in '06, my builder chose them, and my builder no longer uses them. I live in a complex of 40 town homes and we have All had major issues, 3 people need new units and they are less then 5 years old. we have had 3 other companies come out to give us their professional opinion. They have all said the Exact same thing, and all are a laundry list of things they Capital did wrong upon instal? here is that list: - plenum is wrong size - return can unit is wrong size - Duct tape was installed on plenum, return can, and underneath coil - used mastic and tape - not supposed to use both - ducts pointing wrong direction - causing bad air flow thru house - duct to master bath needs to be replaced - mold in plenum -possible mold in other ducts- need to take the vents off to know for sure - ducts are tied to too tight - straps are crushing ducts causing condensation - copper lines going to outside unit - insulation going to outside unit is too thin - can cause condensation and eventually mold - the safety drain is not sloped correctly - bad air flow is causing too much pressure on damper - causing motor to go out quickly - connect safety drain to coil I have know idea how they are still in business?. more
