Editorial review from Citysearch 2/21/2013

What I notice here is that these people (or maybe just one person) have a personal vendetta against Canine Comfort Corner. \r \r I have boarded and brought my dogs for day care at this kennel. It far surpasses any other kennel I've seen or used in the past- especially locally. It is much safer- they don't leave your dog unattended with another dog they don't know. Much more fun- they pair up dogs based on play style which means my 30 lb dogs get to have fun and not be stuck with a bunch of small dogs who don't play. And much more responsible - if an accident happens caused by another boarding dog they pay for vet care themselves and don't even ask you to pay.\r \r I have seen how other local kennels us 10x5 indoor kennel runs and even put dogs in with other dogs they do not know- unsupervised! I have seen how other kennels chain ""unruly"" dogs to a wall in a 30x30 room and have over 100 dogs ""playing"" at a time. At CCC nothing like that happens.\r \r I, honestly, would not take my dogs to most kennels that are operating. But, CCC is safe, fun and reliable. Most other kennels board over 200 dogs at any given time and give no personal attention. All the staff at CCC know my dogs by name and they are so happy to see them every time!\r \r I saw all the bad reviews and am disgusted at the lies being spread here about a great business.\r \r more

Don't Board Here ! Read reviews 3/28/2012

We recently boarded our two dogs at Canine Comfort Corner for the first (and last) time. Our dogs have been boarded a number of times before at other kennels. They do not like being boarded but they do OK. When we picked them up this time after boarding them for 9 days,we have never seen them in that kind of shape. I don't know what happened to them while they were there (I just have suspicions I can not prove) but it took them nearly a week to get back to normal.\r They were thin, exhausted, filthy dirty, lethargic, and very thirsty and hungry. The website information sounded wonderful... they sleep in their crates and play outside most of the day. I don't think that is what happened. I don't think they had water easily accessible and I am inclined to think they were left shut in the crates for most of the day.\r One of them is a picky eater so we brought our own food (dry and canned) for them to eat. There was almost none of the dry food used by the time we picked them up. When I e-mailed during our trip I was told that both were being picky eaters so she was ""changing their food every couple of days. It wasn't helping much and both were having diarrhea"".... duh.... they don't do well when their food is changed!\r We will never board them there again. The place is very unprofessional in appearance and in practice. I think they might even drug the dogs to keep them quieter (again...no proof, just suspicions). I don't think the experience they provide for the dogs is anything like they note on their website. more

NEVER TAKE YOUR DOG HERE 6/20/2011

i boarded my dog here while I was away. We can and took a tour it seemed like the prefect doggy get away nice fields other dogs to play with the office lady was really nice. I was referred there by a friend. I paid good money for training when i picked him up I was informed that she spent about 20 mins a day with my dog... that’s it .All she does is spend an hour with you teaching you how to do it yourself. When I picked up my puppy i was informed that he had diarrhea and was vomiting for the last 3 days!!! I was told by one of her employees that she gave him metronidazole and he wasn’t support to tell me about it but thought I should know because my dog wasn’t doing so well. He also said he did not get to play with my friends dog since her dog is a plays to rough.... they play together all the time!!!! They love each other. I immediately took my dog to the vet who told me that it’s a good thing i was told about the metronidazole because he was allergic!!!! Good thing we caught it soon enough cause he could of died!!!! This lady is not certified to give them any drugs without the owner’s consent, but the boarding contract i signed made it so there is nothing I can do about it. this lady is a scam and gives your dogs drugs with out asking i hope this places gets shut down i see many other bad reviews and another review about her druging some one else’s dog. She says she can have up too 25 dogs there but I saw way more than that when we took a tour. The owner her self is vary rude and doesn’t seem to actually do much with the company. How is this play still in business. more

Gross Negligence 9/14/2010

I tried to thoughtfully board my 3 year old Sheltie for the 1st time, I carefully questioned facilities about their policies and how the pets spent their time there. Thankfully my trip did not exceed 10 days and I was able to provide him with the Emergency Vet care required for him to survive. Within the first. 3 days I was contacted to advise me my dog was vomiting, when I inquired about the food he was eating; I was alarmed that contrary to specifically leaving instructions to not feed him anything but the kibble provided he was eating only canned food. I called there 4 times to inquire about how he was doing at his "" puppy camp"". I was assured he was ""happy"". I picked up a lame dog, that I carried to my car, the unopened treats I provided and a new bag of dog food with approximately one cup removed from it, for the ten day stay! His feet were bloody from being forced to travel over gravel to the fields and woods. The staff would not provide me with any information regarding what food was fed to my dog or what. treats were given to him, only a printout was provided with e-coli symptoms and a staff member told me other dogs boarded at the same time had problems because there was a recall on dog foods due to tainted dog food! One would think. these things would rise to the level of gross negligence, but the 007 Contract. that I voluntarily signed releases them of all liability, accountability and responsibility. They retain the License to Kill and in the event of a cre... (message truncated) more

They Suck 6/4/2010

I went in for an interview for a job and i am training to be a dog trainer and I'm 16 years old and Ive been training dogs since i was 5 and i grew up with dogs and Janice (the owner) was laughing at my techniques and how i train dogs and i have 2 fully trained therapy dogs and one that i just adopted and im training and i trained all 3 of them on my own but anyways she laughed at me for that and she laughed at this one kennel that i used to work at. Canine comfort corner looks like a nice looking facility but it smelled like there was pee that was soaked into the floors and walls and the way they introduce dogs is they put the dogs in dog runs and even if the dogs start going at it and growling and parking at the fence they don't stop them and then they just let them in the same area and that didnt work out so well, I mean if a dog doesn't seem to get along with another dont put them together and introducing them with a fence between them is a really bad thing. They also put dog tie out wires on some of the dogs so if then dont come to them they can just step on it and get the dog which sounds like a good idea but its VERY dangerous when they are playing with other dogs especially if its playing with other dogs with wires too, there is ALOT of bad things that could happen from that Janice also was saying she hates Newfoundlands because they are aggressive and i was thinking no they aren't I have never met an aggressive Newfie, and most Newfies I've seen are life guard dogs cause they are big and great swimmers But the thing that bothered me the most is the owner asked me if i have ever train and deal with someone with something wrong with them and i said someone with disabilities? and she said yes and i said yea i have i just finished training a girl with disabilities and she wanted her pit bull puppy to be her service dog and Janice laughed and said a pit bull good luck with that and that wasn't the only thing that annoyed me, she was saying what is the point of a service dog anyways? and I'm like some people need it if they are in wheel chairs or handicapped or have a disability and this one lady was saying some people are afraid of going out into the real world alone and the dogs just keep them calm and dogs always give people confidence in doing things and Janice said people need dogs to go out into the real world thats stupid dogs don't do anything for them and people like them shouldn't have dogs, that is what PISSED me off. But what ever you do DO NOT take your dog here it is not safe and i think they should be shut down! And if you need a dog trainer/walker/watcher that wont make fun of you and laugh at you or hate your dogs breed just contact and hire me: Ashley Nitro@quantumdesignstudio.c o m more

Clean, loving and caring place for dogs 3/17/2010

I have a rescue pomeranian the animal shelter termed ""un-adoptable"" due to her behavior. After behavior classes & working with her on a daily basis, we finally got to a place of trust. As you can imagine, the vacation I planned over a year ago made my heart twinge with anxiety when it came to finding a place to board my dog. After searching out referrals from fellow pet owners and touring many, many boarding places, I finally found a clean, positive, & loving environment for my dog. I couldn't be happier with Canine Comfort Corner. Although I live near Sea Tac Airport, driving to Bothell is well worth it to ensure my dog is in a safe & loving environment.\r \r As a matter of fact, my dog loved it so much there that when I returned home from overseas to pick her up, she ran to the owner instead of me as I walked in the door. My husband & I stood there with our mouths open in awe at that. Especially since my little dog is a high strung, anxiety ridden rescue who trusts nobody. \r \r In addition, while I was in Europe I was able to log on to the internet and get updates from the owner as to how she was doing while I was away. This extra added touch by Canine Comfort Corner allowed me to enjoy my vacation without stress and worry.\r \r Finally, the owner at Canine Comfort Corner only takes a limited amount of dogs in at one time. This is very important because one place I toured actually had 144 dogs they were caring for & only 3 staff people to manage. The place was covered in fesces and urine, and there was no play time or play area for the dogs. It was heartbreaking.\r \r I could go on and on, but the owner and staff at Canine Comfort Corner have my business from this day forward. \r \r Thanks you guys for all that you do!!! Pros: Gentle positive kindness towards animals more

Great place for doggie daycare and boarding! 12/20/2009

I absolutely recommend Canine Comfort Corner in Bothell for both doggie daycare and boarding. Janice and her crew are extremely loving and consistent with the dogs they care for. Canine Comfort Corner has a very real understanding of the canine world and lots of space for the dogs to play. I have tried a few daycare/boarding facilities because our dog, Caddis, has LOTS of energy and she plays well with other high energy dogs; and Canine Comfort Corner has been the answer to our prayers. During play sessions, which are often and throughout the day, Canine Comfort Corner pairs our dog up with other dogs that maintain a similar play style (it isn't just a free for all with all dog personalities which can cause problems; Canine Comfort Corner is smart about how they group their dogs for play with space). Caddis always comes home exhausted and well behaved; because they also work with her on recall, sit, etc. while she is there for daycare or boarding. I have left Caddis there on many occasions and up to one week (and would for longer if it was necessary). I know our dog is happy because each time I bring her there, she wags her tail when she goes through the door, excited to play! I appreciate the care they have provided to my super cool and high energy dog!! more

Play hard, come home happy 12/1/2009

I have been using Canine Comfort Corner for many years for boarding and would never go anywhere else. They match the play style of my somewhat crazy dog with other compatible dogs, and they monitor activities continuously. They have multiple double-fenced play fields, they keep records on who plays well with whom, and the staff are all deeply involved in the well-being of the dogs. The assertion that the dogs are drugged is beyond outrageous and borders on libel. I recently started using them for daycare as well and it has changed my dog's life immeasurably for the better. He comes home tired, calm, and happy, and it lasts for a couple days. I can't begin to express my appreciation for the turnaround in our lives since my dog has this twice-weekly outlet for his energy. Yes, when you make an appointment (particularly for boarding) it is important to keep it. This is for the well-being of ALL the dogs and I do not begrudge them the occasional necessity of enforcing it... these people work incredibly hard and I have profound respect for them for it. Highly, highly recommended. Pros: Personal touch; caring staff; huge property Cons: Appointment times are for real more

Doped dogs? 7/6/2008

My wife and I had used Canine Comfort Corner before and were very happy the first time but this time our plans changed and so we decided to pick up our Lab and Golden 4 days early, we called and asked if we could swing by in a couple of hours and get them and after a moment's hesitation they said they should be fine, We arrived at 5pm and after being away from them for 5 days was expecting a excited tail wagging reception, instead we had 2 very weary and half awake dogs who looked like they had just woken up!!, we were told they had been playing hard all day and were just tired! I don't think so, my dogs never behave like this, My wife did not want to make a scene so we left and the dogs fell right to sleep on the car journey home, This morning they are back to their old selves, This place is not as they would have you believe!! I believe that they drugged my dogs and spend very little time in the supervision and welfare of our pets.\r I will NEVER take my dogs back there. Pros: Location Cons: Welfare of pet, Customer service. more

LOYALTY?? CUSTOMER SERVICE!! 9/3/2007

WOW!! two years my lab has been going to this wonderful dog haven only to be told that because I was 20 min late, got the cold shoulder from the owner and charged an extra $60 late pick up fee!! This place charges $30 a day!! $60 for 20 min!! I think she lives there!! On top of that, I was told over the telephone that and I quote, ""Other businesses that close at a specific time would not stay open past their hours!"" Ummmm, I call BS on that comment.... I have been to many places including my local dry cleaners that have stay opened...did I mention that we called at 5:30pm and 5:50 to let this woman know we'd be a little late..she said pick him up tomorrow....oh wait, she lives there too!! Not like she was doing anything anyway and was soo cold when I actually picked him up...I thought I was more than ""a client"", guess I wasnt.....I recommend that you do not go here for one reason, you ARE NOT THE CUSTOMER!! She makes you feel like she is YOUR client...you are hers....bring your pets somewhere else because they close at 6...and your dog, according to her, should be as important as a pack of gum at a convenient store that closes at 6 sharp!! Pros: Dogs play all day outdoors Cons: Owner will not stay open 15 minutes past close and charge you for 2 days!! more
