i really enjoyed myself when i had dinner at candlelight. A big group of us went there for a couple of birthdays (my first time there, but many in our group have been there several times) and they really did a great job. They are really a "good weather" place with lots of really funky space outside with huge beds, and white couches. However the weather wasnt great so they without asking, or problem moved us immediately inside. We were in the cabana room and had a great time. Really great drinks!!, great food!! (i guess they have a new chef who is pretty famous) great atmosphere!! great music (a DJ plays thursday through saturday) and great friends!! We really loved it, and it felt good to be treated so right. I WILL BE BACK!! Pros: good looking bartenders, comfortable place, good music Cons: slow service... a little crowded more

As a fine dining service trainer, the service here was sub par at best. The management is excellent, they will be willing to trade your 50$ steak 3 times over but not the service staff. The waiter I had was condescending and an idiot. You would think in a restaurant only half full on a saturday night with $50 steaks would be more than willing to help you but no, they are anything but. DO NOT try to tell them something is wrong because they will feed you a general story im sure they tell everyone describing how the steak was "temped at perfect medium rare" even though it was so well done the outsides of the steak were dry. Spend your money in a wiser place. Pros: Not busy on a saturday night. i.e., no wait. Cons: Arrogant Service Staff and Rediculous prices more

This venue was entirely sensual. Comfy couches, secret rooms, candlelight throughout. Very romantic. Outside was like being at a villa in Mexico. The food was presented beautifully and incredibily delicious. The service was spectacular. Two thumbs up. My date said that it was the most magical night that he will remember forever... ohmygosh!! I went to candlelight bar last weekend for my birthday with a bunch of friends and had a fabuous time. They actually had our private area already reserved for us right when we got there. We tried to get a cabana later but they are all first come first serve so next time we have to get there early! All of my girlfriends had dinner up on the "majestic deck?" and it was gorgeous!! we sat on a huge bed that had waterfalls everywhere and a view of the city. i am taking my fiancee there as soon as i find one. and to all my friends at candlelight, ill see you next weekend!! Pros: drinks, ambiance, music, ahi-tartare, grass on the floor!! Cons: the bar is busy. i heard they are opening a second bar soon. more

I have visited this place many times on different nights of the week. I have always experienced wonderful food and amazing drinks. Ecstacy is my favorite. Around 8pm When the sun sets on the upper deck it is absolutley romantic. It gets chilly sometimes, but they have heaters to compensate. Everyone is friendly. During Mon-Wed this is difinitley a place to lounge and relax, enjoy the night. Thur-Sat the dj bumps great beats that make you want to dance the night away. Fun fun Fun. more

Ridiculous! My 3 girlfriends & I drove from Valencia and Santa Monica to eat here. Restaurant was pretty much empty yet the service was incredibly slow. During our dinner a man came to our table (We thought for a second he worked there) he stuck his head between 2 of my girlfriends asked what we were eating then pointed to one of my other girlfriends and made a crude comment about the size of her breasts! We were shocked and confused at what just happened, but tried to forget about it and continue our evening. About 30 min later, the man came back, made another comment, and tried to touch her chest! He then proceeded to unzip his pants and pulled out his "you know what" !!!!! I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP! He totally FLASHED us then he jetted out of the restaurant with the guy he was with when we threatened to call the cops! He appearantly knew one of the servers cuz they were hugging good-bye (before "the incident" of course) He didn't seem drunk, and we are clueless why some guy would do that to us when we are just 4 girls trying to eat dinner, seriously!! The worst part was, our server said there was NO manager on duty! He had no idea how to deal with the situation, granted it was bizarre, but he literally disappeared for over 25 min, and came back and did nothing! We told him we had no intention on paying! We all work in the restaurant business, and we would all be horrified if that happened to the guests in OUR restaurant! Other than that, the food was pretty good, service was slow, atmosphere was fun before the "incident". Other than that, I am undecided if I'd ever dare go back. Candlelight Kitchen is quality!! I recently went with my fiancee because we live nearby (in the valley) We had heard of a new place in Simi Valley?? and wanted to go see what the hype was about. i guess later in the night gets a little crazy, but we were there for sunset. It felt as though we were in some european city with the waterfalls, and candles, and the beautiful sunset. I had the St. Tropez Cobb Salad (ive actually been there and the food at Candlelight is much better) and my fiancee had the Kobe Beef Sliders. We had to order another order because i ate them all!!! what a great place!! the location is to die for!! Pros: everything.. the food esspecially, the drinks esspecially Cons: a litle pricy!! more

Getting there is an adventure, its like going to a private estate up in the hollywood hills or something. When you arrive you drive through these huge lights and gates, and the club kinda emerges from nowhere. It's really beautiful, and the bar is so much fun. All the bartenders and servers were not like club staff that are just rude, and short. They actually gave good service! We went into the cabana room that is all white, it makes you feel like you're in a dream. my friends and i now have a new hotspot, just be careful because they make the drinks STRONG! candlelight kitchen and bar is the essence of beautiful. at first i was a little hesitant about a new place, but you have to check it out. i really had a great time. they have a really fun menu, and the emotions are amazing. try a large sensual!! you'll know what i mean! ha ha Pros: everything Cons: nothing more

i stumbled across this amazing place on top of the hill in where?? simi valley. but it's soo close to the valley, porter ranch, sunset hills, valencia. it was like being at the shore club in miami, but not so humid. They even have small and large martinis!! i recommend the brazilian big dog. it the best thing ive ever had!! definately go there. give yourself time to experience the sunset, and stay for the party!! we work in the area and there is nowhere else to go for a good drink and conversation. im so sick of hittin the 101 to wait for a drink and i cant wait to leave. the answer is Candlelight!!! me and my girls go out two time a week and we've found our place. we were there wednesday and it's the best jazz band ever!! im going back for carnival at candlelight on thurs, and im having a first date next friday. this place has everything!!! I think that everybody is just used to the old beat down bbq house that was located on the hill. The truth is, everybody that thinks the prices are too high is still blinded by the precedent name of the establishment. The service is ALWAYS picture perfect and has never seen more of a professional staff in my years of dining out. Considering some of the people complaining about the place cant even seem to spell "Ruth's Cris" correctly, I see them as very inexperienced diners that dont appreciate a classy restaurant in Simi Valley. Ive been living in Simi Valley all my life and as sad as it sounds, we're not used to having local restaurants that exhibit such an upscale ambiance and professional staff that caters to every need before you know it. You can count my family and I as loyal customers that have grown close to the management who all seem to have every avenue in the restaurant covered. Pros: Very Friendly and professional staff. Ok...they moved to a new place, and seemed to have lost their identity. Before it was a nice little laid back BBQ & Steak place, with decent prices. Now the ambience is of an upscale chop house, but the food is still the same old stuff, but costs more, think of going to Ruth's Chris, but being served food from Black Angus. The service is nice, the outside patio is nice, but the food, Im sorry is to expensive. The 35 dollar Filet doesn't even come with a salad, thats an extra 4 bucks. The portions are bigger than usually, though that doesnt justify the 30%-50% price increase. We also had to wait 30 minutes when there was 50% of the restaurant empty. I guess even those high prices doesn't cover the wages. It must be the rent. Pros: service, ambience Cons: expensive, good food,not great more

Our waiter was AWESOME!! But 3 out of the 5 meals at our table were cooked wrong...they were almost raw in one spot and well done in others. We were scratching our heads trying to figure out what could possibly be wrong with their grill. more

This place is so excellent, and worth every penny. For the same amount of $ you would spend at outback, black angus, and claim jumper. You can get portions that = dollars, and quality that is out of this world. A must try! more
