Wonderful, caring and professional 9/8/2010

Kay and her crew have been watching my four cats for 2 years. It is with great regret, i can't convince her to move to SF....as i'm doing :).\r From day one, she has been professional and provided immediate responses to questions and requests. My job is a bit crazy and she was always ready and able to meeting my quickly changing needs.\r Kay and Nate's compassion during the recent loss of my beloved Rags, was so comforting, that i was able to handle a stressful time at work and take care of my wonderful ""old man"" with dignity and respect. Of special note; Nate, you are a winner and i was blessed to have you babysit the kids :) more

One happy puppy 4/16/2009

We have used Cambride Critter Sitters since we got our puppy in August last year. He is a chihuahua mix so he was just over 3 lbs. when we got him & in need of more than just one visit a day. Out of the 3 dog-walking services I found in my area CCS was the only one that could accomodate the twice a day needs of our pup (and for the record one didn't even respond to my inquiry; CCS and the remaining co. had exactly the same prices). One of the walkers we had (James) was excellent & even helped our pup with his training during his walks! CCS easily accomodated us when we switched to a once a day visit - although we ended up with a different walker as a result (not a problem though). My only issue is that one day I came home fom work to have my landlord (who lives on the premises) tell me that my walker had taken my puppy for a ride in her car - but nothing was mentioned about it in the note she left for the day. Um, yeah... not really comfortable with that, I mean I'm paying you to walk my dog not drive him around. Other than that one instance I've never had an issue with my service. Communication is easy enough (leave a note for the walker or shoot an e-mail to Kay), price isn't outrageous, billing is easy (get the e-mail from Kay & give her the OK to pay), you can meet the walkers (and can tell that they enjoy animals) and ultimately my little guy is happy! Pros: very flexible, easy billing, walkers love what they do more

I've used Cambridge Critter sitters on many occasions to take care of my cats and have always been happy. I left detailed instructions and they were followed to a T. The sitter left notes every day and took good care of my beloved pets, they even watered my plants and brought in the mail! I have recommended this company to friends and family and they're the first people I call when I'm planning a vacation or a weekend away. They also do daily dog walks, and I have a couple friends with dogs who swear by them. They're very professional, but with an attention to detail and personal touch you just don't see much anymore. Highly recommended! more

Undeserved Reviews - the bad ones that is. 11/26/2007

I happened upon these reviews while just looking at all the info about the service and was pretty shocked at the negative reviews. First, anyone with any sense knows you don't name names in this type of thing, it points to an angry immaturity. It is, to put it mildly, totally un-professional, not to mention one may have to actually defend their comments. I found it interesting these folks didn't advertise their own names. At any rate, Kay McDonald is a warm and caring professional well liked and respected among her peers and associates. Some might say she really is a sweetheart.\r The individual who found it ""troubling"" that he was asked to pay up front is laughable. Obviously he hasn't done a lot of business. Service businesses often require this if you're not an established business with a line of credit. Those who don't get stiffed often. There's nothing out of line with a request like that. Any chance he's a slow payer or a no pay? And if a refund was due you can bet he got it. As for the person who characterized Kay's only response to the towel wearer problem as ""sorry you feel so uncomfortable about the situation"" no doubt conveniently leaves out any sincere and professional efforts to address things - notice the big information gap - and then goes on to misrepresent what surely sounds like the tail end of an apology by using it against Kay as though it were the only thing she said. \r \r Personally, I've never had a problem. All service businesses, no matter how hard they try - and CCS has rigorous employee standards, will suffer that unwanted moment. At any rate, there are a lot of other sources to recommend Cambridge Critter Sitters and Kay. Beware! 8/3/2007

Extremely unprofessional - we were informed by our dogwalker, not the owner that he had switched assignments and someone else would have access to our house and dog. Our second walker was not informed about ANY of the rules we had for our dog and was shocked to find that he did not respond well to large dogs, all though this was all told to the owner in our ""interview"" process. After one month on the second walker we were informed on a Thursday that she would not be back that Tuesday and we would once again have another walker, at that time we decided this company was not for us. We would suggest going elsewhere for your dog walking needs. more

Professional, Responsive, Caring 7/23/2007

I can't say enough nice things about Cambridge Critter Sitter. I have been using their service for almost two years and find the owner very professional and organized. My walker is a sweetheart, I know she really cares for my dog. And, she, too, is on the ball. I have used other services and have found some very nice walkers but there wasn't a real manager behind them who could handle all the scheduling and business side of things. Put my mind at ease... 7/23/2007

We had to travel almost every other weekend this summer to prepare or a move to Arizona. Cambridge Critter Sitter made all of those travel weekends much less stressful. I wish I had used this service years ago. Both of our cats always seemed so content when we returned. Tracy, who took care of them most of the time, was so great. During the contaminated pet food scare she returned my emails promptly and made me feel they were in the best of hands. I was able to prepare for this life-changing move without stressing about leaving my cats so often.\r Pros: Prompt response on last minute trips and happy pets! more

Great dog walking service! 7/8/2007

I've been using The Cambridge Critter Sitter for the last four years. I've been delighted with the service and my dog goes out for daily playgroups with the same group he has gone out with for years. The walkers are professional and experienced and the owner/manager is accomodating to our needs including off hours visits and weekend stays when needed. We're delighted with them. more

Careful 6/15/2007

Be careful using this one. The owner is very threatening and in addition, the walker did not show up on one of the days we were home (they did not know we were home). Further walker wrote they had shown up when they hadn't. Owner was very unprofessional handling the matter. Key customer (the dog) was unhappy with services (if he even received any!) more
