California Test Only

I'm looking for a Smog Shop, and I'm hoping to find an honest business. After reading all of the reviews, I think I'll mark this place off of my list of 'possibles'. Even though I only read one bad review and the rest of them were positive raves, it was obvious that only one review was written by a customer. If you compare the raves, it's pretty easy to see that they were all written by one person. Compare the raves and you'll see what I mean. Even though they used different names, it's still pretty blatant. more

Get your smog checked here! This place has some of the quickest, friendliest service I've ever experienced. And the price is great, too. I had my smog checked this morning and I was so overwhelmed by the positive experience that I came straight home to review it on Yelp. The check was done in about ten minutes and the guy who runs the shop was really nice. more

I called and a lady picked up and said they had time to do my car. I asked about the coupon and they said to just print it out and bring it in. I drive over there and show her the coupon. She asked if i just called and if she gave me a quote. I told her no i did not get a quote. She then writes down that its going to be 92 dollars to get my car smogged. 92 dollars... with a coupon that is 10 dollars off. So basically 102 if i didn't bring in the coupon. That is the most scam like price ive ever seen. last 3 places ive had my car smogged it was 60 dollars max. I told the lady that the price was way too high compared to any other place and got her to knock it down to 72 dollars (on pass). In the end my car ended up passing the emissions but failing the Fuel Evaporative Controls Functional and Ignitions Timing. Sounds like that's ok, but the thing is, i JUST had the evap system tested and it passed no problems at another place a week ago. Also, my car didn't actually ""fail"" these two, the technician said that he couldn't fit the piece on. I don't see how he couldn't when the other place could. The fact that they were going to charge me 92 dollars for smog is insane. pros - they were fast cons - I got scammed. I would never recommend this place to anyone with an older car. I don't think these people know as much as they think. I was failed under the lack of knowledge of the technician. more

From start to finish, they were quick, convenient, and friendly. I did my smog, registration, and title transfer all in one place without having to wait in line. They're open till 6:00 on weekdays which is great because I didn't have to skip a day of work to stand in line at the DMV after getting my smog work done. I just drove my car to CTO after work and drove away with it my smog certificate, tags, and registration paper and my title work done. I'll be back for sure and I'll recommend them to anyone who asks me where to get their smog and/or registration done. more

I had to get a last-minute test only smog for my vehicle. I called at 5pm and asked if I could come in even though they were closing at 6pm. They said that they would see me and then when I asked the price, the woman asked if I had coupons. When I told her ""no,"" she quoted me $50 over the phone. I asked, ""does that include taxes, fees, and everything out the door?"" She replied, ""yes."" I thought great! I went in right away, told her I got quoted $50 and that's all I paid. I was in and out in about 10 minutes. Seriously. I will definitely be returning to this place. Pros: Super fast and great price Cons: N/A more

This place has the best people to do your smog checks, they are fast, honest, reliable and friendly. Before you go to any smog station call them and ask what is the Total Out the Door Cost. This place does not do repairs, so they have no incentive on failing you and try to sell you repairs like most other stations do. Ask for Willy, and he will get you in & out as fast as possible. They are the first shop off Rose St. Do not go to the repair station next door to them""quality auto repair"" they are crocks, they will tell you the smog is $20 but will try to sell you repairs you don't need.!! After reading the reviews, I called. I was greeted and asked how I could be helped, I asked for a quote, she gave me the quote, I said thank you, and she hung up, the receptionist didn't even say thanks for calling... So I was thinking whatever. I called a second time to find out if they were available for me to come in today and she said ""anytime until 6"" I said thanks, and she hung up. I get to the place and tell her I needed to get checked and she writes on the paper and I'm about to sign it and the price is TOTALLY different then the quote, I told her I had called earlier and she GRABBED the paper back and told me, ""YOU SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME BEFORE I STARTED WRITING IT DOWN"" I apologized, and she didn't say anything. and to TOP it off, when she called me over to tell me that my car was ready, I went up, gave her my fiance's card (mine is on it's way in the mail) and she told me I couldn't use it, THAT I totally understand, but since it was taking me awhile to figure out how I was going to go to the bank, SHE PICKS THE PHONE BACK UP AND says ""I'm going to have to call you back."" So I call a friend, go to the bank, come back to pay and she practically throws my keys at me across the counter and just throws the paperwork on top. So besides the fact that she was totally rude to me, it's a good place to go because it's not expensive and the service is quick, and there's coffee and what not.
