California Moving Systems has hidden fees! They came to my home a couple of weeks prior to the move to give me a full quote and at that time and during the next couple of weeks while they were in communication with me prior to the move, they never mentioned a minimum hour requirement. On the day the moving truck arrived, they informed me as I signed papers that they had a whopping four hour minimum, which was twice as much time and money that I had anticipated spending. Near the end of the move, the movers were taking their time and outright stopping work to drag the time out even longer. They told me all of my wood furniture and anything not in a box would be wrapped and protected, however my new bedroom furniture set was not covered in any way and they transported my night stand on a dolley with heavy objects loaded on top of it that scraped and scratched the top surface. Upon paying at the completion of the move, they informed me for the first time that they charged for driving time, including driving from their company location to my first residence I moved from, so they started the clock before they even arrived at my residence and they charged for the time it would take them to drive back to the company from my new residence I had just moved to. I was deceived with these hidden costs and the company refused to compensate me for an appliance they broke, as well as all of the scratches, dents, and scrapes they damaged to my furniture. I highly recommend going elsewhere, and there are several very reputable movers, as I have found, online with excellent ratings and customer service satisfaction. Don’t be taken for a ride and an overwhelmingly huge bill! It’s not worth it!
