Want GREAT service from a GREAT guy? Then Fred is your man. My GF's garage door lock was broken and I had a problem. I was in Marionville, Missouri and she was in San Marcos. I made a couple phone calls looking for estimates. Both greeted with an answering machine. I left messages on them and then called Fred. He answered on the 2nd ring. WHAT? A real live person answered!!! I asked to speak to Fred, based on a review on Yelp. He acted a bit surprised that I knew his name and that he is a former Marine. Anyway, we swapped some sea stories and then I explained my problem. He was ready to go check it out within 2 hours. My GF was at work, so I had to make sure she OK'ed it first. i.e., check with the boss first. I got ahold of her at lunch and gave her Fred's number to schedule an appointment. He gave her a FANTASTIC ESTIMATE. He had to order the part to cure the door. 2 business days later the door was fixed. It is working perfectly again and secure. Great person. California Coastal Garage Doors repaired our garage door in the summer. They replaced a frame or two of the door and it works fine now. They were very accommodating. I was at work during the repairs, but my adult son was at home and he was suppose to write the check for the repairs. He ended up writing the check incorrectly, so the repairman took my credit card over phone. The work was done proficiently and professionally. I was very pleased. more

California Coastal Garage Doors did a service overhaul on the doors. They came down and adjusted the springs, did some lubrication on them, and the man who worked for us was polite, courteous, and knowledgeable. more

California Coastal Garage Doors replaced my whole door except for the track - just the sections and the motor. They didn't replace the track because it wouldn't have worked for me. They were very flexible about replacing just the sections and the motor. Everything turned out fine. They did a very good job. I would recommend them. They were professional, did their job, cleaned up after, and gave me all the information I needed. more

My wife and I just moved from New York City 2 months ago, so this is the first time we ever had a garage, hence the first time we had a garage door opener. The remote control stopped working a few days ago, and I called California Coastal Garage Doors expecting to set up an appointment and probably end up spending $100 on the service and a new remote. But after walking me through some troubleshooting, Fred suggesting cleaning the tabs on the inside of the remote that got corroded, and it worked like a charm! Maybe I'm used to New York City companies that think nothing of overcharging customers with a needless service call, but it was so refreshing to deal with an honest company!!! Fred recommended that I take my wife out to dinner with the money I saved and I will do just that. Technician came right on schedule, that morning. Our 20 year old garage suffered a broken spring. That old unit required a new spring, sort of rare now days. The technician managed to get/hold the door open so we could remove our cars. Then, as promised, he returned Monday morning with new springs, and installed them promptly. Great service! Couldn't ask for more! more

Unreasonable charge. Bought $55 for a remote because he claimed that my 2 remotes are not working and he charged me $70 for labor. The technician just checked my box because I said it's too noisy everytime the door is open and he said he can do something that might decrease the noise but not guaranteed so I refused. I was billed $129.40 basically for the remote and programming. Thanks. more

Our garage door spring broke this morning trapping our car inside. I contacted Calif. Coastal Garage Doors on positive recommendations fromboth my sons. I am so glad I listened to my sons. Their crew (Gabe and John) arrived a couple of hours after calling and they promptly and efficiently replaced the springs, as well as, servicing the entire operating mechanism. They also discovered that my entire garage door operating mechanism was about to collapse on our two new vehicles. This was the result of a faulty installation years before. They quickly performed this repair at no cost and then installed the springs. I have been burned several times in the past by so called contractors.........but not this time. A can't say enough about our positive experinence. I would highly recommend this company. These folks are the real deal. more
