Miserable Experience 1/27/2009

They called us the day before our party and told us that they could not complete our cake. We had paid a lot of money for the cake and we had ordered it well in advance and so I was really perplexed as to why they would call at the last minute. The owner said that kind of thing happened "all the time" and she tried to get us to take something else instead. The owner was so rude and unprofessional and despite that we didn't get any cake at all, she refused us a refund! This has to be one of the most unethical and bizarre customer experiences I have ever had. more

Best Cake EVER 1/20/2009

In reading the other reviews, yes, it is pricey. Let me also say you will NEVER regret paying for it or their service. We went to cake testing after cake testing and there was good and not so good. The Cakestand made those others taste like sludge. They delivered the cake on-time and were extremely professional. Another positive about them is that they make you a 6" cake for your one-year anniversary. Therefore, you don't have to hold onto your topper for one year. Our cake was our biggest expense and people are literally STILL talking about our cake. Do yourself a fovor..spend the money!!\r \r Lynn Hooper, Rowlett, TX more

Outstanding 10/12/2008

I've purchased several cakes for special occasions at The Cake Stand in McKinney and never been disappointed. You must order at least two weeks in advance, but it's well worth it. It is not your run of the mill grocery store cake-fresh ingredients are used with no preservatives. The cake by the slice and other bakery items are also great for taking home the same day. The Cake Stand is NOT open on Saturday afternoons. I think they are missing out on business as a result. The Square in McKinney is very busy at that time. more

Phenominal! 5/28/2006

This not a place for someone who is dieting! The sweets they have at this place is irresistable to anyone. My daughters beg to go here after I hit the antique shops next door. Located right in McKinney's Square. Perfect place to get cakes, pies, cookies, cobblers, brownies, etc.. Not just for special occasions only. We love to get the boston creme pie to take home though! The people that operate this place are very friendly and organized and have you coming back for years! PROS: Great Sweets at a great price CONS: none more

The cake stand 11/2/2005

I have heard that this is apparently the pace to purchase cakes for any occasion. They are located in the McKinney historical district. When I visited the store I noticed that they did not have a wide variety of cakes to purchase in passing, it seems as though most of the business is done by placing orders for an event. The cakes are pricey for what you are getting but the cake is very tasty. more

Amazing Cakes 6/29/2005

When you enter the Cake Stand you immediately realize you are not in an ordinary bakery. As you gaze at the custom cakes, you realize that each is a unique creation designed by a master chef. There are characters and flower baskets, and themes of all types. There are dainty little cookies with flower shaped icings.
