Although the food, coffee and gelato are good the horrible service and rude staff make visiting this cafe not really worth it. They also should consider covering the days old past...

Great gelato! 5/21/2009

I love it there! Very nice, mod atmosphere. The staff is not very friendly, but is nice when you just want you coffee and no chit chat. Gelato is fanaminal and pretty inexpensive! Good quality breakfast! AWESOME potatoes. cheers! Pros: Coffee, gelato, atmosphere Cons: waitstaff more

They make an amazing bacon and sunny-side up egg breakfast sandwich for me. It's the best. Great service, great prices and great food. What more can you ask for! more

Good food - good coffee - modern interior - clean & comfortable - kid friendly 12/11/2008

A great SE neighborhood spot - this is the original owner of the old Henry's on Clinton and the food is just as good or better. You have to check out the menu and the board, but the pastas and the grilled panini are our favorites - they have a great breakfast grilled sandwich also. The coffee is from Cafe Umbria - the Italian family that originally started Torrefazione Italia years ago. Brunches are terrific and the place is very kid- friendly. And the owner personally makes all the gelato in the kitchen, most of them including fresh ingredients, like fruit, etc. Pros: Good food - modern interior - clean - kid friendly - gelato Cons: maybe more whole grains more

Great Cafe 11/30/2008

What a great cafe, very nice place. Brought the whole family for breakfast on the weekend, it was awesome. The owner is the same lady that had Henry's cafe on Clinton St., she is a great cook. We came back after lunch for some gelato, also delicious. I also found out that they will be having more food options in the evening, I can't wait. Pros: Food, gelato, coffee more

Although the food, coffee and gelato are good the horrible service and rude staff make visiting this cafe not really worth it. They also should consider covering the days old pastries on the counter as fly covered food is not really enticing, nor sanitary. Pros: Convient location, good coffee and food. Cons: Rude staff, slow service more

Good Coffee, Bad Customer Service 5/9/2008

I really love the coffee at this place, but every time I go in I ask for the same thing and get something different and the customer service can be awful. Friday morning there is always this guy that is so rude I don't even want to go in there anymore. He ignores me when I get to the register, give me attitude when I tell him what I want and when I say thanks he never says thanks back, have a good day or any sort of salutation. Others have been friendly, but avoid this guy if you want to start the day off right. more

Great Breakfast 3/23/2008

Great Umbria coffee, friendly employees, had brioche french toast with real maple syrup, and special egg scramble, everything was great. They also serve some baked goods (cookies, croissants) and sandwiches. Will definitely go back. Next time we will try blueberry pancakes and waffle. Pros: great breakfast/inexpensive more
