Teriffic! 9/23/2010

Just visited Buenos Aires on September 20th for a wedding dinner for my sister and her husband. My entire family and everyone in attendance at the wedding dinner would reccommend this restaurant to anyone! The staff was excellent. There was never an empty glass or a member of our dinner that was unattended to. We had a few special requests for the dinner, in regards to music and a special cake that we had, and they not only helped us with our special needs but went above and beyond to make sure that my sisters wedding dinner was so special. We will never forget their kindness. The food was also amazing! The best filet mignon I had ever had. Thank you again to the wonderful staff at this restaurant and to the kitchen staff for a wonderful meal. We will be visiting you every time we are in New York. more

highly recommended. 8/16/2010

Walking in the east village we came across with this lovely spot. Food its amazing, the pulpo is great and the tuna entree is definitely something else. Service was polite and attentive and the ambiance is really nice, with the windows open to the street. I recommend this place. more

Great Food, cozy place! 7/8/2010

I have been going to Buenos Aires for several years and I love it every single time. I lived in Buenos Aires for several years and this place brings me so many memories; from the empanadas, to the dessets and of course the meat. I would highly recommend this place to anyone that would like to eat a great steak without having to spend a fortune. Pros: Food, family environment Cons: small, noisy more

Very Very Very Low Quality Food! 2/26/2010

I went there yesterday with my friend, trying to avoid the $50 per steak in the upper scale steakhouses. I thought I can find reasonable food for reasonable prices. However, even basic Argentinean dishes were extremely disapointing. From appetizers such as Mollejas, and Salads to main courses such as a Rib eye steak, the chimichurri and evn the bread were all made very poorly. Service was ok, but not very professional as well. Pros: Cozy and simple, no need to come with suits Cons: Vert low quality of food, not matching the expectations more

Great Place for Serious Meat Lovers 1/26/2010

Wait staff very friendly and helpful. Always feel welcomed and the food is consistently well prepared. I have never been disappointed yet. Pros: Perfectly done steaks, great wine selection Cons: Can be a little noisy when group parties are nearby. more

Delicious! One of my favorites in NYC 12/7/2009

I LOVE this restaurant. The owner is always there and that is why the staff and their service is close to perfection. The food, most importantly, is DELICIOUS. The steaks are juicy and grilled to perfection. I've ordered/tried most of the menu and I have not been disappointed once. I do recommend to prepare your food intake the day you go so you have as much space as possible to eat dinner, have wine and finish it with nice portioned flan. You should make a reservation because if you don't you will have to wait or just not get a table (unless you go early, like when it opens for dinner). Another cool thing is that the block is where The Godfather NYC scenes were filmed. Another thing, when out of towners are visiting I take them there. Pros: mouthwatering steaks and everything else Cons: nothing more

LOVE IT! 9/21/2009

The food is soooo good, especially the steak. The waiters are also very helpful. The place itself is rather small, and the people around seem to have a great time. Depending on your mood, you might not be a fan b/c it does get somewhat noisy, but it didn't bother me! Pros: The food is amazing! Cons: A little noisy, but still is a great place! more

Use to be a great place 8/14/2009

I have been going to eat at Buenos Aires since they opened up about 3 years ago. I was familiar with there staff and always attended too in the best possible way. But I have to say in the last year service has become horrible. The waiters are not nice at all especially the head waiter. The amount of wine served in a glass is so little that you have to order two glasses to make up for one glass. The steaks use to be excellent, cooked to perfection and lately... I don't know if the cook changed but the steaks haven't been so great. Also, the Flan use to be excellent now it just taste like raw egg. This restaurant use to be one of my favorites but due to the terrible service, snotty waiter, and the last several times the food not being great I have to say I will not be going back. It's a shame because I really enjoyed this place. Cons: Waiters and Service more

AWESOME STEAKS, 100% AUTHENTIC! 5/17/2009

This place is always packed, because its GREAT, but with that said, they bend over backwards to get u in the door, and once there u feel special. The staff make u feel at home and welcome. There is NOTHING pretentious about this place, even though for my money it serves the best steak in NYC. Not only is it delicious but its organic, grass fed beef from Cow heaven Uruguay, a country which was ranked as the 3rd cleanest on earth in 2006. Ive been here 15 times and each time is just as good as the last, they are consistent, and focus on quality. Ive eaten in many steakhouses including Peter luger, Smith Wollensky, Gallaghers...I can tell u without a doubt Buenos Aires is a MUCH better value, better food, better atmosphere...simply superior!! \r The owner along with his wife are there and oversee a very efficient and professional operation, as well as taking a sincere interest in their clients; as witnessed by the fact that 1/2 the clients treat them as family with all the smiles and hugs that are exchanged.\r \r I highly recommend it and soon plan on going back for my 16th time. Forget the other steakhouses, Save yourself some money and a bad digestion, come to Buenos Aires u will be very happy u did...BA is where its AT!\r \r PS- Try the Tannat Don Diva it is AMAZING with beef,\r I cant recommend 1 dish without recommending everything because everything is excellent, but I would suggest saving a bit of room for any of the delicious desserts served with Dulce de leche. Most americans have eaten a steak before but few have had dulce de leche. Pros: Everything, wine, beef, empanadas, potato salad, chimichuri more

GREAT STEAK! 4/27/2009

I really liked this place. The food is great and so is the service. The waiters are very friendly and so is the owner. I was in Argentina not long ago and I can say the steak was just as good, and it was really not pricey. The only thing was that it was a bit noisy, but it didn't really bother me that much. Overall great place! I definitely plan on coming back soon! Pros: Great Food, good service, nice lil place Cons: It was a lil noisy more

Got Steak? 2/25/2009

Excellent food. Good quality & service. Lovely setting. Delivery is prompt too. However -- my only issue -- when I ordered recently, the delivery person came with no change whatsoever. Zero. That is just plain stupid. Thankfully I had a stash of laundry quarters in order to tip him well enough (but not insanely so.) They do, however, accept credit cards. I'll remember that next time. Pros: Good quality. Cons: Not for vegetarians! ;-) more

overall dining experience 11/28/2008

Only been there once, but to this date it was the best overall dining experience I've had in NY. The space is amazing, and everything was perfect; exccellent wine and food, absolutely outstanding service. Definitely a special occasion spot, but one you should definitely make an effort to go to.\r \r Pros: service, food more

Food A++. The rest is whatever. 11/23/2008

BA.... The food is really good (I'm Argentine), the empanadas are made in the oven, the sausage is good, and the asado de tira amazing. Just go there if you want to eat, because the rest is despicable. They have TV in the walls like the ESPN Zone (WTF?) and if you go on Sat at 9pm, forget about getting a table. The owner is rude and the staff is just doing its job (mediocre). But honestly, the food is far better than at Azul, Novecento, Pampa, etc. So, if you want to go with friends of Maradona and have a nice meal, go to BA! But for a date, I would recommend CitySearch and good luck with your search! Pros: Asado de tira, empanadas, chorizo Cons: Ambience, full all the time, rude owner more

Amazing! 11/3/2008

I went to this restaurant with a group of 6 of my friends on sunday afternoon.\r it was full of argentineans watching a soccer match. It was very funny and I was impressed by the explanation the waiter gave me about the argentinean food and culture. The place is cozy and simple. The food is an A+. We really loved it Definitely a winner. Pros: Everything more

Steaks to die for..Great Service 11/3/2008

I want to start by saying I found this place threw the Blackbook Guide.\r We waited for about an hour and 20 minutes at the bar next door on a saturday night.\r No wonder why Buenos Aires Restaurant is always packed. We started with the beef empanadas and they were exquisite. When I questioned the waiter about the different variety of steaks on the menu he explained each one to me which was very helpful, He also recomended an incredible malbec for a very fair price. The filet mignon I had was the best I've ever tasted in my life. From now on this will be my first choice to dine out. \r Pros: Best Steaks, great service more
