Our family took my youngest son to Buca Di Beppo tonight to celebrate his 20th birthday. It was one of our best dining experiences ever! The staff was very personable, helpful, and responsive... even though it was a very busy weekend night. The food was more than we expected in both quantity and taste! My son told us it was a great birthday for him! His pals loved it, too. The Italian decor and old photos were really fun as well. A wonderful time for all!!! more

Yuck, yuck, yuck! 10/3/2010

I promise you I used to love this restaurant. All it takes is a B rating and a horrible case of food poisoning to sour me on a restaurant FOR LIFE. Yesterday our group got treated to a chain smoking waiter (who smelled progressively worse each time he disappeared, so I can imagine where he was going when he should have been checking our empty glasses!) a ridiculously long wait in an empty restaurant for our food and soup that had my stomach in knots all night! I saw the B rating and figured ""well, we're just getting soup and salad; how can they screw that up?"" I'll never again ignore a B rating because they got it FOR A REASON! Buca has gone so far downhill I don't think it can recover. And for my part they've lost my business permanently. Maybe if I had some sort of recourse for my complaint I would have spared them this scathing review; but they don't even allow complaints on their website. Don't bother with this place; the food court at the mall serves better food than this! more

A whole lot of nothing 2/15/2010

The hostess told my boyfriend they would call us if any tables became available. They never called us. We went back 30 minutes before the time they told us and many tables were already empty. We ordered the chicken carbonara and it looks nothing like the picture. It was just a big bowl of white noodles with a couple of peas and greasy chicken chunks mixed in (and greasy ham chunks if you kept those in- we didn't). It was very bland and what little flavor it did have was equivalent to a frozen dinner- except we could have gotten the frozen dinner for a tenth of the price. The Italian sodas were 4 dollars and not half as good as regular soda. We still managed to have a good time though, discussing how Buca Di Beppo makes their money- by selling a shit load of extremely cheap, whole grain lacking, enriched pasta as the majority and center piece of their entr?es. Olive Garden is much better. Pros: nice waiter, pretty (ladies) bathroom Cons: everything else more

The food is pretty good for this place. I didn't expect much and was pleasantly surprised. Portions are large, but also tasty. We have gone probably a half dozen times and except for two times the food was very good. Except for one time the service was good. It's a bit hokey and we laughed at the gaudy decor at first...but it has a 1950's charm about it. Pros: enough for a second meal the next day Cons: food could have a little more flavor more

Great for families 4/24/2008

It is not the best food ever, although with a 2 year old it is a great place to go. There you can avoid the glares you would normally get at a finer dinning restaurant. If you do not like kids and would prefer to eat somewhere quiet, go somewhere else. Pros: Great with kids, leave the tie at home Cons: not the place for my wedding anniversery more

Folks!! This is a chain restaurant. It is average at best. Yes, they give you big ol' portions of food. Obviously, that is all that matters to the local yokels here in Charlotte. Pros: LOTS of food!! the wait may be a little long but it is so worth it. You get a lot of food for your money. If you have a big family it is the best place to go for th big portions that you. and not to mintion that you can eat right in the kitchen if you reserve the table but it was deffinetly an experient. more

Unique Dining Experience 7/31/2007

This place is gawdy and and over the top from the minute you enter the parking lot. Year round christmas lights and Venecian statues decorate the exterior. The interior does not disappoint. From the initial walk through the kitchen to get to your table to the elaborate pictures of past popes and italian celebrities Buccas has it all. Fake flowers abound and seemingly italian carnival music bursts from the speakers. The service is exceptional and the food loaded with flavor. Bring an appetite as most menu items are meant to be shared. This is a great place to go if you are looking for great food but a little something different. Bring a sense of humor. more

Ya'll have got to get on down to bucca's it is such an amazing place. the moment I walk in the door I am greeted by smiling faces, then we are taken on a tour thru the whole restaurant. Everyone there is so friendly and the food is absoulutly amazing. My favorite is the macaroni rosa. It's corkscrew pasta with creamy pink sauce, juicy chicken,broccoli and mushrooms. I love it. The only thing better is the dessert. There cheese cake is the best cheese cake I have ever eaten hands down. It is so creamy and just makes my mouth water. go try some more

Favorite Restaurant!! 7/21/2006

EVERY time that we go to Bucca's, we love it. We love the food, the service, & the atmosphere! My personal favorites here are chicken saltimboca, macaroni rosa, and the chicken marsala is out of this world!! Oh yeh, the warm spinach & tomato salad is outstanding as well! If you have kids and haven't tried eating in the kitchen, make a reservation to do that. I hate that the people that have posted here had a bad experience, but I guess that happens at every restaurant. I say give it one more shot because my family has had nothing but pleasure from every experience at Bucca. Gotta go, we're on our way to Bucca!! Pros: The whole experience... Cons: It is at times hard to find a parking space close to the door. more

We are always looking for new places to go and decided to try Buca di Beppo recently. The interior is eclectic and fun, the staff was happy and helpful, there was a wide variety of items to choose from on the menu and the portions were large. However, the food itself was not so great. We started with salads and bread, and that was okay - nothing outstanding, but not bad. For our main course we had the Quattro al Forno, which was a ""sampler"" of their baked pasta dishes and none of them were very good. The noodles were overcooked, the sauces were mediocre and in a couple dishes we were confused about what kind of meat we were eating. Pros: Different & fun atmosphere, large variety on the menu, "family-style" courses Cons: Can be loud & hectic inside, food is bad more

Where's the food? 12/28/2005

Yesterday evening, my friend and I decided we would try your Buca di Beppo location in Charlotte, NC. This was our first experience dining at Buca di Beppo. Our waitress reviewed the specials for the evening and took our drink orders. Our waitress returned shortly to inform us that they were out of both Italian Wedding soup and Spaghetti with Meatballs. We decided that we would settle for Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and forego the appetizer. Within minutes, our waitress, along with manager, returned to also inform us that the kitchen was out of the Fresh Salmon. To say the least, I was highly agitated and disappointed that an establishment with such a good reputation could not produce at least one of the three items we had ordered for dinner. Despite the managers offer to pay for our drinks, we left hungry. more

The Best Arround 7/30/2005

We like Buca di Beppo so much we went two times in one week. The tables are big. The menu is big. The servings are big ... forget that, they are huge. The service was a bit slow on one visit, but without us having to say anything the server noticed and offered us dessert on the house. I would recommend this place to everyone from those looking for a romantic dinner to those celebrating a special event. Buca di Beppo makes just going to dinner a memorable experience. Pros: Great Prices , Great Food, Great Atmosphere more
