Bubbles

This was an OK salon. I wasn't really impressed. The lady who did my hair was not very talkative despite trying to strike a convo (but it's about hair anyway, so not big deal on that part, although I prefer the talkative stylists) I said I liked wild hair. Couture hair. Something that made my face pop. I wanted highlights too. She insisted on dark brown with one shade darker underneath and gave me a bob with straight bangs. It was cut perfectly, but it wasn't at all what i asked for. I had compliments from some people, but like i said she didn't really work with my style. I won't be going back. I feel like I could have gotten the same cut and color at holiday hair. more

I'm new to the area and have been looking for a great place to get my hair done. I am confident that I have found a winner that I would highly recommend to everyone. Bubbles Salon has a convenient location (in the mall) and great hours that include evenings. The stylists are well-trained and do excellent hair. It is important for me to have a stylist that receives ongoing education and I was thrilled to find out that Bubbles provides their stylists with unlimited and cutting edge training. Bubbles is reasonably priced and a has a fun atmosphere. (Alexis is awesome, by the way! GREAT stylist!) more

I remember about 4 years ago when Ami was on her hands & knees, scrubing the floor during closing time at Bubbles. Ami hung in there as an apprentice and continued to get an education by taking many classes and also working in the salon downtown. Now she's the best! This summer when I needed my bad hair day to go away, Ami made me look slick!! i had just went to the hairdressers there for the first time i was veryy veryyy unhappy!! i do not like the color it was not the color i had wanted or asked for! my hair cut was good fr the most part but there were a few pieces i had to actually cut when i got home bc they were still long!! i would never go to bubbles again will not ever recommend the place! more

No matter how much a haircut for a guy costs or all the ""works"" that can be done to a woman's hair, it all comes down to the person who is recommending and performing the services. My wife and I recently moved to the KOP area and she was referred to Bubbles salon by one of her friends. She went to a stylist named Heather first and left me no option other than to request her when I went for a haircut. Between my wife and I, we both agree Heather was the most courteous, professional, and expert stylist we have both ever encountered and look forward to going back each time and telling as many people as possible about the salon and Heather's work! Let me start off by saying I have been going to this salon for a little over 3 years and have had good and bad experiences.\r \r Recent appointments were absolute disasters, with my hair resembling something out of the sitcom ""chips."" I felt as if the gothic female was attempting a jack the ripper impression on my scalp as she hacked away essentially everything I told her NOT to cut.\r \r Undaunted I decided to give it one last shot upon the recommendation from one of Judy's clients in the waiting area. Attentive, patient and understanding (Also Really Cute) Judy took the time to listen exactly to what I wanted, not what she FELT as if I should have. My hair came out great, I was in and out and the charge more then reasonable. i absolutely hate getting my hair cut, everywhere i go i leave wishing my hair was how it was before i went in. until a few of my friends told me to go to bubbles, my friends paid for me and i gotta say its the best place ever. i only get my hair cut once or twice a year so i dont really mind paying a bit more than most places (15-30 for a cut). so i've only been there 4 or 5 times in the last 5 years but everytime i love my cut. most recently i've had the pleasure of having rachel cut/style my hair the last two times and she is one great cutter. i usually have an idea of how i want my hair but am vague when i tell the stylist but she still gets it. i went today for my halloween hair (my costume requires my hair to look like its on fire) and within 2 hours she gave me the coolest looking hair ive ever had. praise to you rachel you sure know what you're doing! I recently moved here from DC, and since the gas prices are now so high, I finally decided to give up my salon in Georgetown and find one closer to my new home. What a mistake!! I went on Friday evening, and the hairstylists were much more interested in doing each others' hair and glowering at the customers than they were at being welcoming or helpful. I usually could care less if I get a bad cut, since I know it is only hair and it will grow out, but the stylist's utter lack of regard for my simple request was just so unbelievable that I had to write about it. I told my stylist THREE TIMES that I wanted my hair all one length with no layers. What did I come out with??? An old lady hair cut that is all layered! I asked her to cut 4 inches of hair, and indicated to her where I wanted her to cut, and she cut off at least 8 inches while in the process of layering. When I asked her at the end why she gave me layers when I expressly asked her not to, she said ""because, otherwise, your hair will flip up at the ends."" Excuse Me??? What kind of BS explanation is that? I have beautiful thick straight hair, and the only time it ""flips"" or is wavy is when there are layers. I feel so embarrassed, wore a hat all weekend, and am trying to figure out how to cover my hair at work for the next 6 months while it grows out. I hope she never gets the pink highlighter our of her hair that her colleague was dying her hair with when I first arrived. Even then she will only be half as humiliated as I am right now. Oh, and she dyed my hair, and it looks horrible. Not even close to the correct shade. I look like a clown. Thanks, Bubbles!! I would put her name in here, but I can' t remember what it was. After my regular stylist moved away, I tried at least 10 new stylists, searching for someone with a good personality who could actually cut hair. I finally found Rachel a couple of months ago. She gave me exactly the cut and color that I wanted, the way I wanted it, and made me look fabulous. The salon is conveniently located in the mall, too! I love this place, they listen to you and always give you the haircut you want. They are well trained from all over the world and you know you are getting your moneys worth! Pros: Service, Cut Cons: Price more

As unfortunate as it is, most of the reviews you'll see will be negative (about any place) because most of the people who go out of their way to write a review about a place are just peeved for one reason or another. I've had nothing but positive results from Bubbles (I highly recommend Eric, very friendly and funny, does a great job), and the prices are good to boot. Whoever wrote the extensive diatribe, I think you need to relax. You may have had a bad experience, but that doesn't speak for the whole of the salon.\r \r In short, I recommend Bubbles. Good price, good service. Pros: Most everything. Cons: Sometimes the staff are a little behind on their appointments, but so it goes with any place. more

I had the worst experience at this salon. The stylist promised a quarantied satisfaction and free follow up service if neccessary. I was there for 5 hours and came out with a very bad color. The next day, I went to the salon to schedule a follow up appointment and the stylist said that she needs to charge me for the service. It was a very poor business practice. more

I was new to the area a year ago. I've tried lot's of hairdressers and Bubbles were the best I found, really good. I used Ed and Selina, both excellent. This was the worst salon experience I have had in my life. The quality of customer relations and the quality of their products and services is unacceptable. The manager, Kim, was in no way concerned with customer satisfaction and instead behaved as if she is beyond reproof when a damaged product was sold and the customer was inconvenienced and promised a return, only to come to the store and be told that the item for exchange was sold and that a return would not be given. Their skills are terrible and they do not do what you want with your hair. Their charges are far more than reasonable for very poor skills. They will ruin your hair. You would regret using this salon over other far less expensive ones who do a nice job and give you the exact results you request. Most importantly, do not buy products there, particularly the chi irons, which are very pricey. They do not stand by their services or their products, so if you have a defective product or a poor cut or chemical treatment, they will not be concerned. I actually experienced a situation in which it was clear that Kim, the manager, seemed to get amusement out of our grief and was exceptionally rude, disrespectful, and verbally aggressive when I brought up my concerns to her, very politely for as long as she listened, before sounding off very rudely. She refused to work with a customer, and seems to think she can operate however she pleases as if she owns a monopoly on hair services. She either doesn't care about her job or about her company or both. But most of all, she showed utter lack of concern for her customers. You could come out with the most awful hair on the planet and she will not want to help you but will seem to be laughing at your woe. Stay clear of this terrible salon. It was the worst salon and least professional business I have ever seen in my life. The others who were with me that day and today when I called again for assistance were just as shocked and appalled as I am. The worst! Pros: at a nice mall, but lots of other better salon choice anywhere, especially at that mall Cons: everything else. Bad service, lack of regard, rude, ruin your hair, rip you off more
