Satisfied customer. 5/15/2012

I bought a lift chair from Brummels prior to having leg surgery knowing I would have mobility problems. Friday late in the afternoon the chair stopped working. I called Brummels and they said it would be Monday before the serviceman could get out; after explaining my situation my sales person had a repairman there in 10 minutes. The repair man was super friendly and repaired it quickly. Thanks. more

Terribly Disappointed 5/3/2012

I am very disappointed in Brummel's. I wanted to shop locally to support local business in Wyoming, but I wouldn't recommend this store to anyone! What a lack of customer service from Joe Brummel. I bought at Vanhill for a lower price than Brummel's quoted me 30 days ago. They wouldn't honor their own pricing even though I HAD A QUOTE FROM THEM. I own a business that relies on customer service and if I had done that to any of my customers they wouldn't be back and since they did it to me, neither will I. \r \r I have done everything in my power to inform all of my facebook friends and every single person I come into contact with not to deal with Brummel's because in my opinion they have obviously forgotten what customer service is all about. I was actually asked by Joe Brummel to do business elsewhere because he didn't want to provide customer service to someone with a legitimate complaint, he just wanted to make sure his margins were high enough. That's the antithesis of what a business like Brummel's is all about. I will NEVER shop at Brummel's again and I highly recommend that you don't either!!! more

Like Family 5/2/2012

I have visited and purchased products at both Brummels Home Furnishings stores. I have enjoyed the same family atmosphere at both stores and will continue to purchase my TV's, Appliances, Furniture and Flooring from Brummels. \r \r Each time I have walked into the store I was greeted with a warm and genuine hello, asked if I required some help and then left alone in order to make up my own mind without a salesman waiting to pounce. When I had questions they were ready with answers. They didn't try to push me in any direction as to spend more or less simply providing pro's and con's in each case and allowing me to come to the best conclusion for what was right for my family. \r \r When service was required I was treated with prompt service and every effort was made in order to minimize any cost to me. Again I was provided options instead of a technician coming in and replacing potentially what didn't need to be just to make an extra dollar like other Big Box stores. \r \r All in all Brummels is a great place to shop for your home furnishings and I would recommend visiting either store to find a great selection for all your home furnishing needs, great service and let them make you feel like family. more

Horrible Experience 2/7/2012

We have shopped at Brummel's for over 10 years buying flooring, appliances, etc. We recently wanted to buy a new laundry set. The salesperson showed us a ""blemished"" set that was in the show room and said the reason it had lint in the dryer because it was tested. When it got to our house, it sounded like it had a load of bricks in it! We called right away and their repair person said he couldn't fix it because it had been dropped off a truck and the whole inside was misaligned. Instead of replacing the dryer like they should have, they wanted us to pay several hundred dollars more in order to get a dryer that worked. Bait and switch? We weren't biting. We ended up returning the whole set and vowing never to do business with them again. more

Very Unpleasant Experience 12/19/2011

Had an unusual situation, my parents both have dementia, but are managing at home w/some in-home care. When they couldn't get their TV to work Mom called Brummels to fix it. This happened over the weekend and I called Brummels at 8:00 Monday morning to cancel the appointment (most of the time they think they need something fixed it's just a false alarm). Well, Brummels never picked up the message, and the service tech went out anyway, cleaned the remote and put in new batteries. My Mom was charged $110 for this ""service call"". \r \r When I called Brummels I couldn't believe how uncooperative the owner was. I realize they did send someone out, and the $110 is their standard rate, but this was such a simple call, and obviously the customers were confused about the whole thing. I suggested a half-price fee, but the owner flatly refused. I then asked him to make sure to disregard any further calls from my parents, and his reply was ""What am I supposed to do, take away their phone."" \r \r I can't believe this local business owner could be so callous and uncaring. The only important thing to him was to get his money, and I'm sure if they happen to call again, he'll waste no time getting a tech out there to fleece a couple of old folks.\r \r I've had to work with many other businesses with similar issues (plumbing repair, lawn-mower repair, the post office, the grocery store, etc.) And all of them have been understanding and gracious, letting me know that they wouldn't take unnecessary orders. A couple have even offered to call me if my folks should call again. \r \r This is a business my parents have made many purchases from over the years - obviously that means nothing to the Brummels. \r \r I get it - they sent the service tech out, we owe the fee. But the owner's insensitive attitude and unwillingness to work with me even a little bit is really frustrating. All he could do was say ""we didn't do anything wrong"" (which I didn't accuse them of), and ""our fee is reasonable"". Well Mr. Brummel, sometimes it's better to DO THE RIGHT THING, even if you're ""in the right"". \r \r If you expect any kind of caring and service because this is a local business, not a big box store - forget it. Community and people mean nothing to them, they're just out for the money. more
