Editorial review from Citysearch 2/16/2013

Called and ordered a cord of wood and they delivered wood that doesn't burn and full of mud and mulch. We stacked the wood and also had to scoop up 3 wheel barrels full of wood chips, mulch and dirt. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS CLIP JOINT OPERATION. more

Proven service 12/23/2012

Another year satisfied with Bright's Firewood. Neighbors order from others and get way worse in quantity and quality. \r \r Firewood is not lumber and of course its out in the weather so its not pressure washed clean. \r \r We always order ahead of when we must have it so we can stack and cover the cord. Always burns wells.\r \r Not a problem, will order again . Pros: good service, reasonable product Cons: delivery sometimes weather dependent more

Not a Bright Idea to Go Back... 11/9/2011

We had half a cord delivered to our residence in the Doylestown area, It was a very disappointing product. While most of the pieces were around the advertised 16"" length, about 30% of the load were scrap pieces. The worst part was the mud - they must have taken a trawler and just dug the pile into the truck, because we ended up with a huge amount of mud and dirt. Most of the pieces did not burn well, and many were rotted. Despite many calls to them about this, none were returned. There are better options than Brights. AVOID. more

VERY DISSATISFIED 2/6/2011

We purchased a cord of wood for $250 and were extremely unhappy with what we received. We had to dig through dirt, debris, mulch and snow to find the wood. We actually received 3/4 of a cord of real wood and 1/4 cord of debris. My husband called to let them know we were unhappy and the owner called him an idiot for purchasing wood in January. He said you get what you get. The owner then started yelling at my husband. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL! Not only did we get ripped off but now we are stuck with 1/4 cord of crap in our driveway we need to get rid of. I would never recommed this place to anyone. more

COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL 6/17/2010

Called and spoke to John regarding wood for my upcoming family camping trip and could not believe how unprofessional this guy was. \r \r In a nut shell I asked John for the hours of operation and was told in a non professional voice that his operation does not have a set schedule and that I should call before coming up. I then asked John if I could pre-pay and come later tonight and pickup wood myself and again in a negative non professional voice was told no one would be onsite and for me to call. \r \r John then preceded to tell me he is a pilot and this wood business is a secondary job. He also said in the past he had some trouble with campers trying to steal his wood and if I try and steal his wood he would prosecute. Not sure where this came from as I would never steal anything. \r \r Truthfully, all I was trying is to do is purchase wood for our family camping trip and schedule a time for me to come onsite and pick up my order. Could have done without the unprofessionalism and accusations. Pros: Can't think of anything Cons: COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL more

DO NOT order from here 3/1/2010

\r We have ordered from this company twice and would NOT order from them again. \r \r The first time the wood was cut consistently and small - which works wonderfully for our old house and its small fireplaces. The wood burned good as well. \r \r However, I got the bottom of the pile load in our driveway that was scraped off the dirt/rock ground. I literally had TWO wheelbarrows of dirt and rock and mulch I had to shovel up and haul off. I expect a little mulch but this was ridiculous. Of course that meant I didnt get a full 1/2 cord either. When I called to complain I got a long winded message of how I should always expect a little mulch and that was that.\r \r I ordered another 1/2 cord half way thru this winter as it had been cut so nice before. This load was terrible! No wheelbarrows of dirt to cart away but I highly believe I did not get a full 1/2 cord (it didnt fill up the same space as last time even close).\r \r PLUS many of the pieces are HUGE - I had to create a whole other pile I will need to find a family member to help split it in the spring! They dont even fit in our fireplaces and are big logs. And the wood is not seasoned well. All in all - very inconsistent with sizing.\r \r UGHHH. Will NEVER order from again. Go somewhere else!\r more

Do Not Buy Wood From Here 1/8/2010

I ordered firewood from this place for the third year in a row. As always, it was delivered quickly. It is priced a little higher than other places but we have had luck in previous years. This year it arrived and 95% of the pieces are so big they will not fit in our fireplace. My husband called to tell them and the owner proceeded to tell him that he would have to get a chain saw and cut them all, at which point my husband said this was unacceptable and that he paid for cut firewood and he should not have to cut it. The owner told him he was a lazy $%^%^^& and hung up on him. This is beyond my imagination that an owner of a business can treat a customer this way. My husband works 70+ hours a week not to mention coaching kids teams, he has no time to cut firewood. Pros: Quick Delivery Cons: Nothing Fits in Fireplace more

Questionable Integrity 11/25/2008

Ordered 1 cord of wood. Delivery promised before noon on a Saturday and came mid-afternoon. After stacking wood, I measured the wood pile. Delivery was less than 3/4 of a cord! Called to complain, and they did deliver the remaining amount - no questions asked other than what was the dimensions of the wood pile. Prior to call, I called county division of weights & measure. They gave me the impression, I was not the first one to complain about Brights firewood. Their delivery truck is partitioned into 1/2 cord sections. It's hard to believe this was an honest mistake as all you have to do is fill the bins within the truck. Their price was $30 higher than some other quotes I received, however, the previous owner of this business, HP Wood, always gave me good service, so I thought I would give them a try.\r \r If you order firewood from Brights, make sure you measure after stacking. A cord of wood is 128 cubic feet i.e. a pile of wood that is 8 feet long, 4 feet wide, and 4 feet high. Cons: Shorted order by at least 1/4 cord more
