Another vote for rude and snobby 4/19/2010

I've had two separate experiences here - both of which were horrible. The first is when I was looking for a bridal gown. I must've waited an eternity for someone, anyone, to acknowledge that I was standing there. The consultants looked me up and down a few times but not one of them offered to help (this probably had to do with the fact that I didn't look like I just walked out of a high priced salon, like their other customers). Needless to say, I walked out.\r \r Although I swore I would never go back there again, all I needed the second time around was a slip. I figured everyone deserves a second chance. I walked in and went up to a sales associate. She took off her glasses, looked me up and down and asked if she could help me. When I told her I just wanted to look at any slips they had in stock, she told me they were shorthanded and no one could help me (there was only one other person in the store!). \r \r I'm not one to usually write reviews, but this place certainly seems to lives up to the reputation they have built for themselves. Unless you look like you have money, and actually have money to spend I would suggest you stay far away from this place. There are enough other bridal stores in the area who are much more deserving of your time and hard earned money. Pros: None more

Do Not Go Here 3/17/2010

For a bridesmaid dress, they took my measurements and ordered a size too small (and I lost weight between the order and the arrival). The zipper wouldn't go up when it came in, too late to order another dress. So they ""fixed"" it, by exposing the different colored zipper and shredding the fabric around it. I took it to my tailor, because my boobs won't fit in the dress. She said she blanched when she saw the Bridal Garden bag, because in her experience that meant there was a disaster lurking underneath it. She was right -- I now have a choice for my sister's wedding: half-exposed boobs or a half-exposed bra. Don't go here. more

Stay Away!! 8/29/2009

Well, I had heard of all the horrible things about bridal garden, but decided to check it out anyway to see for myself. Boy people were right. They only care about the amount of $$ you are willing to throw down. When I told her I liked plain dresses, she pulled one out, and when I didn't like it on, she yelled at me and said ""you said plain and this is plain, what is the problem"". The problem was it didn't make me feel pretty and I wanted to try on more dresses! So rude!\r \r Also, stay away from the women who dress you the day of the wedding. Apparentaly, there are a few women from the Bridal Garden that offer this service and its expensive. My friend hired someone to be her day coordinaor to dress her and make sure things ran smoothly, and all she did was ruin her day. She came hung over, said rude comments to family members, and her dress had major issues the day of the wedding. All it did was cause unnecessary problems. \r \r Overall, just stay away from the Bridal Garden. Pros: top designers Cons: expensive, rude, no class more

BRIDES WORST NIGHTMARE!! GO ELSEWHERE! 6/17/2009

I had a TERRIBLE experience at the bridal garden. i ordered a designer gown that was supposed to be custom ordered to fit me. I am a size 00 and they ordered me a six. it was ENORMOOUS! they did not order a ""hollow to hem"" size dress which is the normal protocol. The seamstress was completely clueless! The hem of my dress was UNEVEN- parts dragged on the floor and other parts were too high! the lace wasapplied to the bottom unevenly. The bust was way too big and after 3 fittings - still did not fit me. the waist was taken in too much to try and compensate for the large bust!! after 4 fittings and 325 dollars in alterations, i took the dress to another seamstress. this was less than 7 days before my wedding! i was devastated that we had spent 2K on a beautiful dress that was absolutely awful! the dress wouldnt even stay on my body because it was so huge! the manager was not listening to my concerns and the seamstress was unable to fix any problems! it was a DISASTER! forunately i found a nice local seamstress that fitted me 4 separate times before the wedding to make the dress suitable. we ended up having to put spaghetti straps on the dress so it didnt fall off me. the bridal garden ruined my wedding dress and the entire experience. PLEASE PLEASE dont buy your dress here and go through the same thing i did. it was so upsetting right before the wedding! my local seamstress said she had never seen such shotty work in her 19 years in business. it was AWFUL!!! Pros: good selection of designer dresses Cons: ALTERATIONS- butchered the dress and couldnt fix it more

Rude and snobby! 4/16/2009

I made an appointment and the first thing they wanted to know about my wedding was how much my wedding dress budget was. From there, they judged me because they told me that their cheapest dress was $1,500. I went to my appointment and I felt like they were already judging me because of how much money I was willing to spend. They made me fill out a questionnaire and all they wanted to know was my contact info, my budget, and where else I looked. I thought that they would have wanted to know more about what styles I was interested in, but I guess not. As soon as I told her that I did not want to spend no more than $2,000 on a dress, the bridal consultant gave me a dirty look. \r \r I was not impressed with the selection of dresses that the consultant showed me and I did not have the opportunity to pick out any other dresses myself. If you are a bride on a strict budget, I suggest you look elsewhere. I had much better experiences at other local bridal shops in the South Jersey area. Pros: Nice location and nice dressing rooms Cons: Rude bridal consultants more

YUKKKKKKK! 1/21/2009

I came to my appointment at Bridal Garden with an open mind. I put the fact out of my mind that almost everyone of the reviews on line and word of mouth , are negative.\r They were like cold-fish in this place. No one was warm and personal. It was an expirence that left me feeling a little tainted, going bridal gown shopping. \r While they do have some nice gowns ,the overall feeling was I was a business deal to them. And Im suppose to fork over thousands of $ to this place, that cant even be nice to me or my family.\r Get a grip. These sales people need to get some class. You know the saying ""you cant buy class"". \r And WHO would allow their employees to treat their customers that way????\r GO SOME PLACE ELSE AND SPEND YOUR MONEY!!!! Pros: ZERO Cons: EVERYTHING more

Amazing Experience 12/8/2008

I thoroughly enjoyed my dress shopping experience here. I have to admit I read reviews before I went and it appears that people either love it or hate it. I happen to be one of formers. Contrary to so many negative reviews, I was pleased right from the moment I called to make an appointment. The woman on the phone was extremely kind and helpful. She stayed on the phone w/ me for a solid 10 minutes and answered all my quick little questions and I never felt as if I was bothering her. Then when I got there the sales lady was absolutely amazing with me and spent almost 2 solid hours with me trying on dresses. I ended up ordering the last dress that I tried on and I am so thankful that I had a patient person helping me. I never felt pushed at all into buying any dress. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone! Although, I do caveat the recommendation in that the shop is not for everyone. They are very upfront on the phone about the cost of the dresses. I was told they started at $1200, but I tried dresses on there were anywhere from $1500 to $7,000. So if that isn't in your budget, it's probably not the best place to shop. Pros: Designer Selection, Personalized Service, Helpful staff more

Couldn't be any worse 8/13/2008

This bridal salon is awful. I have never been treated so horrific in my life- especially when these people are most likely working on commission. I wish I would have known better not go to this salon before I purchased my bridal gown. The sales lady made me feel like a piece of dirt and was annoyed when I wanted to look at more dresses. My bridesmaids and I were allowed to have one tiny dressing room for about 15 of us. Our sales lay was lazy and very unhelpful. She acted like she had money and looked down to her customers. If you do decide to go there-pleaseeeee request not to have a thin, short brown hair lady. Probably the rudest person I ever met. Pros: Clean facility Cons: Awful service, small amount of dresses, pricy more

Rude, rude, rude 7/30/2008

I went with my friend to try on a dress, which she had been told by a consultant on the phone that they had in stock. We made an appointment, rented a car and drove up from Philly only to be treated incredibly rudely -- and to find they didn't have the dress in stock after all! Not only did the consultant not introduce herself, shake hands, ask any questions, but when she realized they didn't have the dress in stock after all, she didn't ask if we wanted to see anything else -- she just acted as if we were wasting her time. Don't waste your time -- stay away from this place! more

horrible! stay away from this place! 6/9/2008

This is the place to avoid. You will be treated with utter disrespect - not friendly service. High pressure sales, rough handling during your fitting, silence when you walk in the door - as if you are interrupting their private chat. Ever been to a snooty bitchy salon? Then you know what to expect here, except you wont have a quality product at the end. Steer clear! Cons: bad attitude, lousy product more

Down-to-earth staff, wide selection of gowns, great experience 5/3/2008

I ordered my gown from the Bridal Garden 2 years ago, and I had an excellent consultant-- Andra. She offered suggestions, had me try on a wide variety of gowns, and never once did I feel pushed. My bridesmaids ordered their dresses there, and they had positive experiences as well. The alterations they did were excellent and met my expectations-- and I was a very nervous, picky bride! They also discounted their dresses, which was nice.\r \r We went back last week because now my sister is engaged, and we had a very similar experience. Our consultant-- I forget her name-- was very sweet and down to earth, and very helpful. She was knowledgeable about the gowns and what would look good on my sister, she was mindful of prices (because we do not want to spend $5000!!), and she NEVER tried to push us into buying. The whole experience was wonderful, and I have come to appreciate it even more since we went to Suky in Ardmore yesterday, which by comparison was awful! (cold and pushy staff, very high-priced gowns). I would highly recommend the Bridal Garden to anyone shopping for a gown-- you will have a very personal, great experience. Pros: Attentive, down to earth staff, wide selection of gowns, great alterations Cons: Gowns can be a bit pricey-- don't go unless you want to spend at least $1000 more

Best Selection and Prices in the Philly Area 4/15/2008

I agree that it was not the warmest salon I visited while shopping for a bridal gown but Mary Ellen is great to work with and after visiting 4 other shops in the area this was deifintely the closest experience to a NYC shop selection and service wise without the NYC prices and tax. Yes, when I walked in for my appointment (first one of the day) the greeeting I received from the front staff was a cold stare and ""is the back door open?"" so they definitely could use some etiquette and service lessons - can I get you some water, what can I do to help make this process easier, take a little more time to understand your needs and likes, etc. would serve the salon well and not cost them anything, BUT I am a busy girl and this is a task I need to complete and they were the most helpful and best value and selection which helped me narrow down my choices. I am not sensitive about the polite factor as long as I get the quality product and service I need. The only downside is they do not let you browse - they bring the dresses to you but all my other appointments were almost exactly an hour and I tried on maybe 6 gowns the most. With Mary Ellen, I tried on probably 10-12 gowns and she spent 2 hours with me and picked gowns that were on the mark. I would definitely give Bridal Garden a try if you're in the market for a bridal gown more

I do admit they are snobby...... 3/30/2008

I do admit most of the employees are very snobby which cracks me up. Although Mary Ellen who works with bridesmaids dresses was very sweet and professional. I really felt confident in her. My sister had an awful experience with a smaller bridal salon that is in close distance to bridal garden and that is why I decided to go to bridal garden...because it is a larger store that has been in business for a while. The most important thing to me was to have a gorgeous dress and that is what I found there. Just ignore any high pressure sales and never forget to do whatever you want - it's your day. I would recommend going there because the dress selection is fabulous and unless you want to drive up to nyc, you will not find a selection like that. more

don't even bother calling them... 3/3/2008

I didn't even set foot in this shop and I am COMPLETELY turned off by the way the ladies at this place speak to their potential customers. I called to make an appointment and was spoken to like a 4 year old. When she asked what kind of dress I was looking for, I told her I was interested in a particular Monique Lhuillier. Her response.... ""SO... ARE YOU AWARE of Monique's price point??"" Of course. Then she asked when my wedding was and when I told her she said... ""SO... ARE YOU AWARE of how LONG it takes to order a dress??"" (my wedding is still 10 months away). I am tossed up on whether to just be a no show to the appointment or go there and torture the woman for 3 hours trying on 20 dresses, then walk out and say... ""SO...ARE YOU AWARE that I was just about to buy a $6,000 dress from you but am going to walk out and order it elsewhere????""\r \r If this is the treatment you get on the phone, I can only imagine what it's like when you actually go there. From all of the other reviews I read on this site, I shouldn't raise my expectations too much. more

Do NOT Go Here, Save Yourself the Stress 2/26/2008

I ordered my wedding gown from The Bridal Garden 7 months before my wedding. After that, I never heard from them. I had to call to see if my dress was in, for scheduling, etc. To sum up a TERRIBLE ordeal, my dress was not ready until 2 DAYS before my wedding. They actually asked me if I'd come in the day before the wedding. Please go elsewhere and save yourself the grief! When my FIRST fitting was finally scheduled (3 weeks before the wedding), I called to confirm the morning of the appointment, and the manager told me the dress wasn't in! What AWFUL customer service, they hadn't even bothered to call me to cancel the appoinment or to apologize that the dress was not in 3 weeks before the wedding. In fact, the manager told me, ""This happens all the time. Other brides' dresses come in days before the wedding and we make sure they're ready."" What a horrible way to run a business and treat customers, especially during what is supposed to be a happy time! Cons: Terrible service, dress ready 2 days before wedding, overpriced alterations charge to boot! more

Avoid at all cost-abusive to customers 9/23/2007

The sales woman was absolutely rude and borderline abusive. My friend, the bride, and I stopped in to try on bridesmaid dresses that she had picked out the prior weekend with her out of town bridesmaids. The sales woman, chastised us for not having an appointment--there were no other customers there. Then she complained that my friend couldn't keep coming to the shop like this and basically tried to commit us to ordering the dresses on the spot. We told her that we could leave and we were still in the shopping around process. She snootily said it was fine for me to try on the dresses. I tried on the dresses with no assistance from her. We promptly left. My friend and I felt so frazzled and sick to our stomach after that. No wedding shop should make their customers feel that way. Please avoid this store at all cost. They are so awful. Pros: Nothing Cons: Rude and abusive service more

Awful Store! 9/3/2007

Awful. That sums up this store. They are awful and rude. Every employee in the store talks down to you and treats you like they don't care. And once you give them money, don't ever think you will see it again, even if your dress is completely wrong. The do not refund or help in any way, at all. You would be better off going to a cheap place like David's Bridal than to go to this terrible place. They are overpriced and underqualified to be in customer service. Just awful. Avoid them at all costs. Pros: Nothing Cons: Everything from the dresses to the staff to the owner more
