Don't go here unless you have a lot of time, money, and emotional energy to waste--if you are planning a wedding, you probably don't.
I went to the Bridal Garden because they carried the dress I was looking for and ultimately bought. I did have a very nice experience with my bridal consultant, Diana, who was kind and honest about my the dresses I tried on. I bought the first dress I tried on there, although Diana put me in at least 8 others to ease my mind.
First mistake, I was told to order a size 8 because I am a 32C in the chest--but I am 5 feet tall and normally wear a 00 or XXS petite. I trusted them because I know bridal sizes run big, and figured they would fix it during alterations. Wrong. I was there 5 times for alterations (for $325) because the dress was massive every time, even given my ""large"" bust. Between the 2nd and 3rd fittings, they laughed at me and told me I was losing weight, and to go home and eat a milkshake. The fourth time I came back I brought a large, padded bustier to help fill some space in the top, which is the only reason the top now fit my body. Then I asked to tailor the bottom of the mermaid-fit dress to actually look mermaid not ballgown because they had not touched the bottom of the size 8 dress, and the seamstress, Delia, refused and told me it would ruin the dress. After being told ""there as a problem up in alterations,"" another bridal consultant, Debbie, came up to explain to Delia what I was asking her to do, and she pinned it only so slightly, refusing to do anymore. I also pointed out that the crinoline was sticking out in one spot, and the dress was a bit shorter on one side--they told me that was because it has not yet been pressed.
I finally picked up my dress for my wedding which is now in 4 days. Hating the way it fit, I immediately called La Bella Moda in Conshohocken based on a friend's suggestion about their alterations department. They told me to come in immediately and I was in the car with the dress in less than 5 minutes. The seamstress there noticed right away that the crinoline was sticking out, there was way too much of it, the length was uneven, and there was about 5 inches too many all around. They were a delight to work with and will have my PREFECT dress for me tomorrow afternoon.
Saving on sales tax in NJ is just not worth this horrible, nerve-racking experience. Of course after I vocalized my frustration with the Bridal Garden, my friends and acquaintances starting coming out of the woodwork with their own horror stories. Avoid this store at all costs! You can get better, more professional service elsewhere for sure.
