Great food and atmosphere.

Brick Oven is THE restaurant around BYU. Every parent who brings their children to BYU remembers Brick Oven and likes to go there. The problem is that it is not that good. Thei...

A Provo Tradition 6/30/2009

This place seems to draw in everyone that visits Provo. Obviously the location helps. I think the food is overrated, but, overall, I think the food is very good. I love the calzones and salad bar. The Mormon beer (root beer or apple beer) is excellent as well. Pros: Calzone, salad bar Cons: Packed on the weekends more

Delicious pizza! Home brewed root beer... yummy! 2/18/2008

Tasty pizza... The home brewed root beer was delicious. It was a pleasant experience. We didn't have any wait when we went. There are plenty of college students on staff waiting to take care of you. I was surprised at the size of the restaurant. It's huge! It's a little confusing walking around in there, but it's got a good atmosphere. It's definitely more of the kind of place you go to hang out with friends... not really ideal for that romantic date. Pros: Tons of space for seating Cons: Never seen so many employees working at the same time... felt crowded with college aged employees more

Best Pizza ever . . . in Provo 4/27/2006

Bar far the best pizza place in Provo. If you are forced to be in Provo, and need a good place, this is it. Just remember that 'Happiness is seeing Provo in your rear-view mirror'. Nice atmosphere. Gourmet style pizzas. The basic pizzas are, well, basic and relatively expensive. But the specialty pizzas are worth the wait and BYU crowds. I recommend going. more

Don't go for just the pizza 3/23/2006

True, the Brick Oven is a great get together spot. My mother-in-law worked there 25+ years ago, so it has some nostalgic value. But, as far as really good pizza is concerned it's only so-so. The dough is average, the toppings are average, the cheese is average... you get the idea. And, on top of the ""averageness"" of the pizza, its just too expensive. So, if someone else is buying... enjoy; otherwise it's not worth it. Pros: Apple Beer more

37 YEARS 11/8/2005

37 years ago I was introduced to ""Heaps of Pizza"" as it was then known. I'm happy to report that my family and I STILL make it a point to enjoy a meal at the ""Brick Oven"" whenever we are able to visit Utah. The Pasta Bar (multiple pastas and sauces from which to choose, and cooked to order piping hot) and the well-stocked Salad Bar are definate standouts. The Pizza is delicious, and ranks right up there close to the top (reserved of course for N.Y.C. - the Valhalla of Pizzadom.) It's a great place to take your family, located across the street from Brigham Young University and the college crowd. Pros: Good food, affordable, Great Pasta Bar Cons: Go early on weekends more

You people must be high 7/11/2005

Whoever rates this place higher than a 4 has never ventured outside the geographic boundaries of Utah County. I've had better pizza from (fill in the blank chain delivery pizza). Yes the rootbeer is good. If you think this is a place to see beautiful people, see the first sentence. Lots of BYU students - eating and working there. I'll pass. Pros: hmmmm let me think Cons: parking probs, long waits, inexperienced servers more

Nice place to go with friends or family 4/27/2005

I have lived and travelled to many places and I have to say that the Brick Oven is one of my favorite restaurants. I am not a huge fan of Utah, but this place is great. The food is good and the atmosphere is wonderful. I can't believe everyone who rated it only talked about the rootbeer. They are famous for their apple beer. There are very few places in the US that serve apple beer & this is one of them. By the way, anyone who expects to have alcoholic beer with their pizza shouldn't be looking for it in Provo, Utah. Pros: Apple Beer, Salad bar, Family Atmosphere Cons: Can be loud, Food is a bit $$ more

Blah 3/7/2003

I was not impressed at all with Brick oven pizza. It really made me think that the people who told me to go there, really have bad taste! The pizza wasn't all that great, and it was not worth the price you paid for it! I would have rather ordered a delivery pizza! more

excellent pizza 2/10/2003

The Pizza here is excellent; however, pizza is meant to be served with cold beer not root beer. more

YUMMY! 1/15/2003

brick oven is a tradition. it's the best place to go because they serve everything there. everyone is happy. great food and service. more

The Best Pizza! 1/8/2003

My favorite place to eat, period! Wonderful atmosphere, great food, excellent service. I only wished I lived closer so I could eat there more. The pizza is the best and the root beer is great! Pros: Food, Atmosphere, Service Cons: Sometimes busy, Only one location more

90210 hang-out of Provo 12/6/2002

Hey...lets be real...this place is here for one reason...its a hang-out place for the beautiful people to check each other out. As for the Pizza and Rootbeer...if it helps you to look cool while checking out the who's who of Provo...then who cares... Pros: beautiful people, historical landmark Cons: so so food more

WAY OVER RATED 12/5/2002

Not enough toppings, doughy crust, and half melted cheese are my reasons for this rating. I cannot believe how over rated this place is. Everyone talks about how good it is but I just don't get it. I have tried it 3 different times (thinking it might be better next time) but it still sucks. have had their takeout a few times too. Still sucks! Obviously the people of Provo have never had REALLY GOOD pizza. Or good Root Beer for that matter. Their Root Beer tastes like something out of a medicine cabinet. And I am a conisour of fine Root Beer. Besides they serve it in a frosted mug and then put ice in it. You're never supposed to put ice in a drink with a frosted mug. If you want really good pizza try Rock Creek Pizza in Sandy. They have GREAT PIZZA! Get the thick crust. Pros: Cute Coeds Cons: Food, Food, Root Beer and Parking more

so wrong! 11/27/2002

Brick Oven Restaurant is one of the best places in the country to get a good pizza, not just Utah. I have had pizza in NYC, Chicago, San Fransico and Europe and Brick Oven definately rates a 10. So on your list, Brick Oven's place at number 10 IS SO WRONG! Pros: reasnable prices, great ambience, good dining experienc Cons: parking more

Best Root Beer in Utah 11/27/2002

It's a very popular place, and so the wait is often longer than expected, but the food is definitely worth the wait. more

Great value and fun atmosphere 11/1/2002

Great spot. Good food. A Provo tradition. I have always liked their root beer and pasta bar. more

It's stood the test of time! 10/3/2002

I love this place!!! We eat there at least once a month! They have the best salad bar I have ever seen with soups to die for! The Market Room buffet is the way to go. If you can stand to pass up the deep dish pizza. Pros: Inexpensive, Fast service Cons: Bad Parking, college crowds/busy more

Great place 8/29/2002

Great place, great prices, Great food. Always good, always fun. more
