Best

Thanks, once again to Will who made it all so simple when my inside rear view mirror fell off.

Worst

Incredibly overpriced and it seems like they scam women in particular giving them higher quotes quotes that are over $1200. I wonder if a lot of these reviews are fake. Avoid if...

Friendly and competant. What more could I ask for... more

You listen with genuine sympathy, and then blame the owner (kind of like blaming your tools when the house falls down). Just kidding, you are friendly and you listen and you are easily intimidated... 5/16/2013

I have to tell you, I heard the little noise on my way home but decided I was imagining things. So I went home. Now that I wear ear plugs all of the time, I don't hear a thing. Will drive it in when I hear it (or don't hear it) again. love love hugs and kisses Katherine more

a good honest man 8/3/2010

Being an old mechanic myself i have maintained my families autos from oil changes to engine rebuilds for over 40 years. at the same time having my own shop years ago i know alot of other mechanics and shops. When i have a problem i use eddie as my pro. Not just because he usually can help but because me and all the people who i know that know him as their mechanic or personally agree that you can't find a more honest, careing, competent, good human being. i've been sending him my friends and aquantainces for over 35 years and haven't heard any bad stories (like ive read hear) ever. is he the cheapest no, is he the most expensive no way, is he a fair man ..for 35+ years yes more

run away! 4/27/2010

I noticed all the fake 4/5 star comments that didnt actually say anything specific about Brentwood and I couldnt let it slide. If they are going to lie to puff up their reputation then I better tell you all about my experience. \r I took my 97 Vovlo wagon in for oil change and asked them to rotate tires. They did an unrequested "full vehicle inspection" ($50) and found a loose/worn belt, and wanted to replace it for another $50. I asked them to show me and they said the mechanic who did the inspection already left. I said fine, show me anyway. They couldnt show me. I looked and saw a perfectly fine belt system. I tried to refuse the full inspection charge. Then the guy turned mean and accused me of trying to cheat them! Then he started adding all sorts of nickle and dime charges. He charged 1/2hr for labor on the oil change, he charged parts for the oil and filter. Another 1/2hr for the tire rotation, another 1/2 hr for alignment, and another 15 min to show me the belt. When I saw all t more

Great shop 2/24/2010

I've been taking my cars to Brentwood Auto for the last 25 years and I can tell you first-hand the employees and owner are honest. I've had major mechanical work done on my cars and have never had any trouble/issues during or after the service was performed. The techicians are competent and hardworking. I have always been treated fairly, respected and had the reassurance that my car would be safe to drive after I left the shop. If you want reliable, affordable, and friendly service, this is the shop for you. Thumbs up! more

Great Car Repair 2/12/2010

I took my VW to Brentwood upon the recommendation of my coworker who has been going there for years. They could not have been nicer. Ed explained the problem and what was needed to fix it. They finished the work in one day. I was even offered a ride to work! My car runs really well now and I am very Happy! Thanks Brentwood and Thanks Carol for sending me there. more

Don't Go Here! BEWAREEE!!! 1/2/2010

Went here and got my car diagnosed. They said I need a new alternator and alternator belt and they suggested a new battery. They tried to charge a WHOPPING $830! Are you kidding me!? Went somewhere else and got it done for $350....BEWARE of these ppl! more

Bulley! 11/19/2009

1. New in town, dropped car off for a MD inspection, they did it, and noted one of two license plate lights out, and a taillight busted. When I followed that vehicle in the cross country move and dropped it off, all lights were working. They had no comment. Had the work done at another shop and they said MD law only recquires the inspector to verify that license plates are not concealed, but once its written down, the work has to be done. He said its a shi$%y thing to do. I naively thought they were just thorough. 2.Flatted out a tire. Asked them to repair, or if cant, replace, and check alignment. They supposedly did an unrequested full vehicle inspection ($45 found nothing), and refused to replace tire unless I agreed to replace both front, said its a liability issue to them, I (stupidly) agreed and told them to replace the old spare tire with the other newly removed tire. They over-charged on the tires, added extra labor charges and BULLYed my wife when she balked at a different price more

Over-priced ripoff 5/12/2009

Even if these guys are honest they are way overpriced. I took the car in for one problem and they said I needed $4500 worth of work, including an alignment that I had just had done the day before when I got new tires. \r I took it to another shop and paid $1750 for the same thing. Go figure. more

Outstanding service. Honest shop. 3/13/2009

These guys are friendly, competent and honest. They replaced the boot and front struts on my Subaru when I had an emergency during a road trip. They caught a billing mistake in my favor (that I had missed) and credited the amount back to my card. I had a question regarding the alignment they did a month later and when they couldn't find the paperwork on the job, they credited me for that as well. I received outstanding service before and after they got my money, despite the fact that I live out of state and could only contact them by phone.\r \r Be aware that Brentwood, like any good mechanic, will inform you of any and all problems they find with your car. This can result in lengthy and expensive estimates that go beyond the scope of the problem you brought the car in for. But it leaves you better informed and there is no pressure to make all suggested repairs. You decide what to pay for. more

Shameless attempt to rip off 1/17/2008

I have heard some good things about this place, which is why I sent my car there.\r \r I have some noise in the engine, and they gave me an estimation of $4,600. I told them I just want to get rid off the noise, they then insisted that I need to replace the exhaust downpipe which cost $1,650 according to them ($1,390 to get the pipe). \r \r I went to Midas and people there said I can either replace the pipe for $750 or just fix the pipe for $325.\r I got it fixed at Midas. My car is nice and quiet now.\r \r I understand lots of auto services are trying to charge extra money. But I have never seen one so shameless.\r This place might have experienced mechanics; they might appear friendly; they might have some good reputation among certain people. But most importantly, they are not running there business in a trustworthy way.\r \r They charge, depend on people, not on the actual problem of your car.\r \r BE AWARE! more
