Great customer service 2/20/2007

We went last night at brazzaz with my family from Italy, my brother own a restaurant there and we were amazing with the quality of food and service, never seem something like that in the whole Europe, (knows for the best restaurants), salad bar was fabulous and the meats waiters were bringing meats the way we ask, was fantastic. People are very friendly and polite. It's our favorite restaurant now. Pros: 2 thumbs up more

Good service, good food, RIDICULOUS management 2/19/2007

We just arrived home from a good dinner at Brazzaz, and a thoroughly disappointing experience with the management staff. \r \r We agree with the proposition that the food here is very good. I loved the mushroom risotto and the cheese tortellini, my girlfriend went back twice for more oysters. We sampled a lot of the meat, all of it was quite good, although, to be fair, I thought that the filet mignon and the garlic steak were both a bit overcooked. But, still tasty. \r \r The big disappointment was with the management. As we sat down, we asked our waiter if our coupon for a free dinner was valid for tonight's dinner. He assured us that it was; another waiter confirmed this. \r \r As we prepared to pay, however, we were told that our coupon could not be honored because today is President's Day.\r \r We explained our story, that we asked specifically for the OK from the wait staff, to the manager. He was TOTALLY unconcerned with this fact, and the fact that it is also my birthday tonight, and that we were one of the last tables remaining in the restaurant. We ended up having to pay full price for our food.\r \r Honestly, money is not the issue here. We are both professionally employed and can more than afford the cost of the bill. But we thought we would try a new place because of the coupon. We were told that the coupon was valid, but then the management staff changed its mind as we were about to pay. \r \r This is not proper marketing, or proper customer service. We were extremely disappointed with the fact that management was unconcerned with our situation, and unwilling to honor the coupon. Pros: Interesting concept Cons: Ridiculous, inflexible management policies more

Good food, bad service 1/29/2007

I've been to each Brazilian style steakhouse in Chicago, and while the food is pretty much the same at each (stellar) the service at Brazzaz was far below average. We went with reservations a week ago Friday night and still waited almost an hour to be seated. Then we - and the tables near ours - were overlooked by the servers so often we had to literally flag them down. When the servers realized people were getting frustrated they began dropping larger and larger pieces of meat on our plates. Was that an effort to keep patrons quiet? Lastly we had to request the dessert menu from 2 waiters repeatedly before it came. While they DO have more items in their salad bar, such as oysters and wild mushroom risotto, the service is FAR better at Fogo de Chao and Sal & Carvao - for the same price. Pros: The food -when you GET it- is amazing Cons: Long wait, uninterested gauchos more

Best Buffet, great service! 12/13/2006

Brazzaz is a great place to get filled up. I don't like to compare but you can't help to since Brazazz and Fogo de Chao are so close in proximity. The buffet was out of this world. Oysters, Different sorts of Salad, Rice, Beans etc.. The meat was good but Fogo's meat was seasoned better- not as salty. But if I had to pick a place to go to again it would be Brazazz you get more of your money's worth from the Buffet and well of course the Meat. Pros: Buffet and Sides were great more

Best all you can eat dinner in town. 11/21/2006

Not only was the meat very savory but the salad bar was one of the best I have ever had. the selection of sushi and pasta at the salad bar far surpassed my expectations. If you have an appetite this is the place to go. Pros: Variety Cons: Price more

Go to Fogo! 11/6/2006

A large group of us went here on a Saturday night with an 8pm reservation. After being told the wait would be ""2 minutes"" about 6 times, we were finally seated just minutes before 9pm. (Please tell me the point of the reservation!)\r \r The salad bar was a mess! Not the food, but the people waiting to get food. There were just too many people and the line went nowhere. Some of my friends were up there a good 15 minutes or more before finally getting back to our seats. Some of us figured out the only way to get around the slow folks was to actually just start cutting inbetween them. I don't know if we just went up there at the wrong time or what!\r \r Okay that still leaves the meat, right? Forget it! Their house ""special"" was nothing special at all. Every meat lacked seasoning. My advice - if you haven't tried this place, don't. Take your money and go to Fogo instead! Pros: Very yummy mojitos Cons: The music videos playing on the tvs were a complete distraction, wait time, quality of food more

The Rump Roast was amazing, my date that is, not the food. 10/27/2006

Although this place costs like $50 a person, which meant I had to save for 6 months to take a date here, you get more food than you can shake stick at. Salad bar, soup, sushi, rolls, and everything else under the brazillian sun. It is way more food than any self-respecting person can eat in one sitting. Fortunately, my date brought a big purse, so we had bacon-wrapped filet mignon to eat for a week...Seriously. more

Not the Best Churrascario in Town 9/29/2006

As frequent Brazilian steakhouse diners downtown, we find the food at Brazzaz more inconsistent in quality than the other two optons - Fogo and Sal & Carvao. Our experience on two trips is that the meat is often overcooked (difficult to get rare / medium rare) and salty. The ambiance is nice - attractive with energy. To each his own churrascario. more

Best Brazilian steakhouse 9/9/2006

Me and my wife went there for our anniversary on september 10th, i gotta say this is one of my best experiences here in chicago, putting in mind we have been around to many steakhouses in the city. Service, food and place decor was perfected here at Brazzaz.thier salad bar is to die for which is filled with all types of salads, and appetziers. This is strictly a meat lovers place so don't bother going if you don't eat meat. Brazzaz averages $50 a person which includes unlimited salad plates and unlimited meat and shrimp, except for the lobster which i think you have to $30 extra for. I personnaly liked the idea of how they serve thier food.overall great place and i recommend it. Pros: Black pepper filet mignon, shrimp, salad bar Cons: None. more

Best in town! 7/27/2006

Not only is it $20 per person at lunch but it's $40 for dinner and usually you can find a $25 gift certificate for dinner. The meat is great and what makes this place different from the other Brazilian steakhouses is that they also serve fantastic shrip at dinner and great roasted pineapple. It may not sound like much but trust me when it's in your mouth it tast great. I love the cheese puffs(It doesn't really taste like cheese, but it's great), the fried banana is great even if you really wouldn't like to eat it try it because it become addicting I didn't really like fried sweet banana and once I tried this it became like a small taste of heaven in my mouth. Also on the salad bar try the pasta with peas, it's exquiste but the salad is not so great they only have cesar salad which I personally hate. Also try the parmesan chicken its soooo good. Just try all the meat and at least 10 out of like 13 meats you'll love. Pros: Meat, pineapple, shrimp more

Trendiest Churrascaria in Chicago... 7/26/2006

The meats are almost as tasty as Fogo de Chao and the salad bar is way better. Brazzaz is the ""hipsters"" churrascaria.....Great spot to take a date! Pros: Filet mignon and service more

The Best Steakhouse In Chicago 6/1/2006

This was my first visit to a Brazilian steakhouse. Brazzaz was amazing. I am a huge meat fan, but I was really impressed the most with the salad bar. The salad bar, as they call it, was more than just a salad bar, it was a feast of sushi, cheeses, salad, risoto, potato salads, and even more. Then the meat was to die for, all of the regualr meats, like filet, new york strip, and serloin, and then meats I have never heard of before that were to die for. At the end of the meal I had some of their pineapple, which was also amazing, and then desert. Not only if you are a meat eater, if you just like food in general, COME TO BRAZZAZ!!!! more

THE ABSOLUTE BEST 10/16/2005

On sweetest day I went for the first time to Brazzaz. Everything was perfect found parking at a corner lot for $12 walked a block to the restaurant where I was greeted and seated all in 2 minutes. Everything was great from the whipped potatoes to the beautiful salad bar. The wine cellar is in view behind a glass wall. There is a bar in the front that was very well put together. The food was heavenly the pineapples were sinful and the shrimp were seasoned to perfection. I would recommend this place to everyone. The cost per person is $48.50 but it is well worth it. ENJOY more

Brazilian Churrascaria 10/2/2005

It the best Steak house I have ever eaten in Chicago, the gauchos bring the meats at our table, also the shrimp and pinapple give a diferent taste. the restaurant is fabulous, and the salad bar is great, it has a vareaty of salads, sushi, oyster and salmon. I loved it. more

The best experience in my life 8/21/2005

Ive eaten at Sal once and Fogo many times. Brazzaz is definitely the best offering the skewered shrimp which were ""to die for"" The pineapple was a nice change. I also liked the increased amount of seafood in salad bar. And the Risotto is excellent, come on this is not an Italian restaurant, of course it is not fresh made each time but it is very good if you like Truffle oil otherwise you will hate it! The lamb chops are outstanding and of the course the meat is pretty similar to all the other competitors. I still believe it is too pricy for dinner though and only do this for a special treat! I think this one if the best of the three downtown! more

Best Steakhouse & Brazilian Experience 7/15/2005

The decor is beautiful, the management endearing, the location convenient and the food...well, unbelievable. The cuts of meat are delicious and hot, the salad bar is palacious, drinks are unique and tasty. Be sure to try the Guarana...a Brazilian favorite. This is a must experience place, I know we'll be back often. Pros: Environment, Food, Drinks Cons: Parking hard to find more
