Best Dog I've ever owned 2/25/2015

Before purchasing our Beagle, we visited a few breeders. bounds was the breeder that had the perfect timing for us, so we chose them. We visited them a few times before our puppy was ready and every time we found the place clean, the dogs were healthy looking and they seemed very well taken care of. Our dog is almost 5 years old. This is truly the best dog I've ever had. very healthy, happy, well adjusted, no problems that could happen with over breeding. I would recommend Bounds to any one looking for a Great family dog. more

A Perfect Example of a Puppy Mill 1/19/2014

Many dogs kept outside in small "hidden" kennel enclosures.... do these sound like "pet dogs" to you? They have never felt anything but dirt under their feet, and never chased a ball. Anybody posting positive reviews live in this area? It gets well into the triple digits in summer and freezing temperatures in winter. Multiple breeds being bred is exemplary of a "dog factory". I would not purchase from these people because I will not support a dog factory. People that do it this way are only in it for the money. They get a lot of "free publicity" because they are right down the street from the casino. It sickens me every time I have to drive by and I will be getting this place the negative publicity it deserves. more

My Beagle was Bred By Donna Bounds 6/27/2013

About two years ago, I contacted Donna about purchasing one of her puppies. After multiple conversations with her, mostly about what type of home we would provide, where we lived, other pets we have, etc etc etc, She agreed to sell us a puppy. She made all the arrangents, promptly provided her papers and delivered above and beyond our expectations! Our little girl is about two and a half now and has been nothing short of outstanding, easily trained, well adjusted, friendly and outgoing towards everyone including children. If for some reason you feel you need to bash dog breeders, that's fine but,as for Donna Bounds Beagles I would have to say you're barking up the wrong tree. Did you ever think that maybe she got that nice house through hard work and superior breeding? more

Do not support this facility 12/2/2011

I made the choice of not buying a pup from this breeder but instead one of the older dogs used to beed puppies. He was not in good shape when I had taken him to the vet. He was infested with fleas and had a terrible ear infection that had made his ear canal swell. His teeth were absolutley terrible that he would drop food out of his mouth from the pain of chewing. He acted as a pup being taken home for the first time though he was at this stage a senior. He had open sores on his legs from pacing in his kennel all day and rubbing up against the fence. Which I observed while watching him in his kennel for 10 min. I am not a breeder hater. I actually purchased a beagle pup from a hunter who's dog happened to have pups. But please before you buy a pup make sure to do a thorough inspection of the parents. Make sure you know what a "healthy parent" looks, smells, and acts like. Yes I said smell. Smelly ears and terrible breath usually means that there is some kind of infection brewing. Older dogs should be socialized too. Not just with humans but the outside enviroment. Take the parents for a walk outside of the facility and see how they react; are they skiddish hesitant? Confining a dog to one place it's whole life so that it never knows anyhting but a kennel is cruel. There is sooo much to look at when you ask to see the parents of a dog. Not just how they look superficially and how their tail wags when they see you at the kennel. It should actually be like an indirect interview for the breeder. You are not looking for how your pup turns out your checking on how well the breeder takes care of the dogs they have. The better care the dogs receive the better off the pup will be when it's born. The more dogs the breeder has to take care of the more the breeder will have to delineate from this standard. I made a poor choice of giving this place my money. But I was not going to let this poor creature suffer. Please ADOPT! more
