If you are looking for a rare or out of print book, I'd suggest you call Bookland and ask if they have it. Chances are they will have multiple copies to choose from. \r \r The...

Very disappointed!!! When I took a price tag from a book the original price on it is $1.00 and I paid $2.00. It's unexpectedness and very very dishonest!!!!! Stuff was in general...

Love it! 11/24/2008

To me this is the nicest used book store in the 1960 area. It's organized, junk free, (does not smell, was the previous reviewer thinking of Half Price on 1960?), and most important has a great selection. Most of their books are in great shape, and as is usual of a used book store, they're half the cover price most of the time. Neil is very helpful, as is his staff. To me they have the best selection in the most organized store in the area. more

Book Land 6/27/2006

As a frequent visitor to Book Land I'm finding it difficult to reconcile the two bad reviews to what I know of the store and staff. The store is located in a small strip mall off of Louetta that has a Taco Bell separate but in front of it, perhaps that is the odor to which the two previous posts refers but having supposed that, I must confess I and my fiance and friends have never experienced any such odors in our frequent visits. As for the store it is logically laid out, with everything clearly marked and all books in alphabetical order by author how hard is it to find a book if you know what you are looking for? Not hard at all, unsure? Ask the staff they are friendly and knowledgable, ask for a title, an author, a genre they will find it. Ask them to locate a book for you and they will-ask them to call you when a book you are looking for comes in, they do. As to the condition of the books themselves? I have seen the store management turn away books that were poorly treated by the owners. When you purchase a book there it is in good to excellent condition, and you are still paying much less than the full price. My fiance, friends and I are voracious readers that frequent many of the bookstores in the area - this is one of our favorites more

Not so good 8/10/2005

I don't care too much for Book Land which is a used book store. They do have a huge selection but the building is old and kinda smells. Most of their books are really old. I feel they are a bit high for some of their books. I would rather hit another used book store. I have only been to this book store twice. And don't plan to return anytime soon. more

Not very good 7/23/2005

I went to Book Land and was really disappointed. The building is really dilapidated and feels like it could fall any minute. However, there are some really cool books that you could find there since they are so old. All you have to do is search a lot for the books in the shelves. Also, you can ask the employees to see more books and they take you to a special section with rare books. That in and of itself redeems the store. However, as the previous poster said, the store does have a bit of an odor problem. Still, if you dont mind holding your nose and shopping througha dilapidated building, Book Land is pretty cool sometimes. Make sure you check the shelves thoroughly as you can always find something interesting if you look. more
