Body Renew Fitness & Tanning

Steer clear unless you get a month to month membership. Gym is often dirty. Equipment is often broken. Owner/manager posts juvenile signs in bathroom about how men should behave at urinals (yes, this sign is even in the ladies room) instead of educating trainers and members about proper gym ettiquette. Place is crawling with ""gym rats"" most who seem to be personal trainers with no clients? Are they required to hang out in gangs of 4-6 and socialize? Can I get paid to do that? I have to actually earn my paycheck. I've been a member since 2011 and was promised by the manager that a new Stairstepper/climber was coming. LOL never happened. When I signed my daughter up (month to month only) was again told of the golden Stairstepper/climber that the gym was about to add to the equipment line up. Alas, no stair machine of any kind. At peak times there is nowhere near enough cardio equipment. Sometimes equipment is broken for days or weeks. The ellipticals at this location are the pits. Cheap machines, uncomfortable. I can't think of a single gym that didn't use Lifecycle or a better quality brand. Not this place. Frankly the only thing I like about this gym is the Wednesday night T&T class that Melissa teaches. Oh and that brings us to class schedule = skimpy. Little to nothing on the weekend. Needs more of everything class wise. When my membership expires I'll not renew. more

A total joke. By far the worst customer service I've ever seen, matched with dirty equipment & poor business ethics. The fact that they have 1 out of 5 stars from customer ratings, & the service STILL hasn't improved, shows that they will be out of business in no time. Do not support this place, the valley deserves better. \r Hey managers, get a clue. more

This place is a joke ~ they don't want to help you they want your money. Try to cancel and they find a way to say you did the papers wrong and keep charging you. They offer 1 visit with a trainer and then the trainer says you can buy theire service, was never shown how to use any machines or any workout because they wanted me to pay more. more

Horrible place. I'm getting out of my contract as soon as it runs out. I've been affiliated with a number of gyms and this has the cheapest equipment of any I've worked in. They will sell you access to their ""salon tanning"" but it's open pretty limited hours, so if you've got a real job, forget it. The 24-hour tanning is a pure lie. Plus, they take an ""improvement fee"" out every July ($20/member x 2000 members = $40k for the Vista location), and I never saw anything that was improved, let alone $40k worth. Scam-fest. more

This is the worst gym in the Treasure Valley. Do not give them your credit card. The gym is very dirty and grimey and the contracts are misleading. Beware of the contracts, as we were promised one thing in the contract and then harrased for hundreds of dollars more than agreed upon. more

I joined the gym on Saturday and after I signed the contract I was informed they were out of key cards but would have them in on Monday because they were in Meridian (10 minutes away). Went in on Monday and still no key cards. Told the same story. Went back on Tuesday still no key cards and their phones were not working. I have not been able to use the 24 hour fitness center because Body Renew has not full filled their obligation to provide key cards as stated in the contract. Do not sign a contract or join this place. It is a f&^(&*%&^$ joke. I can't believe The Better Business has not shut them down. Oh and BTW the tanning beds have bulbs that don't work and when staff is told about this their excuse is I don't know how to change them. more

DO NOT do business with this company...I was charged for an entire year for tanning, I did not realize it was going on, and when I found out what was happening, they told me it was too bad for me, ""I signed the form"". First of all I had no idea I was signing a membership that basically gives them the right to steal your money until a cancelation form is signed. Even after I signed the cancelation, they continued to charge me again the next month. So..in a nutshell....I was charged somewhere around $552.....for just trying to get a little color last summer. BEWARE. They reluctantly said they would let my granddaughter and I tan for ""TWO"" months,....how generous of them. I am a 54 year old grandmother.....I wonder if they feel proud that they stole my money? I was never told about any sort of membership by their employee ""Brittany"". I had no idea!! I certainly would have walked out the door if I had known that. The Attorney General and Better Business Bureau will be hearing about this. What they did to me may be ""legal""...but I ask you...how ethical and moral is this type of busness practice? The employees lied to me as well as the beds were filthy on quite a few occasions. Sarah is the only person I dealt with that cared and treated me with respect. more

Don't get a membership here! DON'T! They charge you ""fees"" that you don't expect or deserve to get charged- and they won't reverse the charges if they do. They don't keep the ""gym"" clean. Dusty, dirty, no fans to circulate the gross air, regularly NO soap or TP in the restrooms. The temps are always too hot for a gym. The machines are cheapest of the cheap machines and there is always one or so that is broken. They have over 10 weight machines for upper body strength but only 3 for lower body. They use dollar store bath mats in the shower which don't get washed or disinfected, so wear your shower shoes in the dirty restroom. more

Not very happy with this company AT ALL!! Once they get a hold of your credit card they charge it every month even though I have cancelled!! DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS MEMBERSHIP OR GYM. All we have had is problems with them. And there ""billing department"" is just as dumb as dealing with the people that answer the phone at the gym!! GO TO A REAL GYM!! more

I signed up for Body Renew Fitness because a long-term contract was not required. They really pushed the personal training sessions, so I signed up because the trainer said he could schedule me around lunch time. However, he was never available and even cancelled one of my appointments. When he was able to meet with me, he would be busy talking to people walking in the door and I spent most of my appointment on my own. I was not happy with the equipment because it was mostly cardio. I would prefer to walk outside and would like to see more weight equipment. I decided to cancel and was even more outraged. You have to physically walk into the club, pick up a cancellation form, then MAIL it in. They will not accept the form at any of the fitness centers or the main office. They only accept cancellations by mail. Not only that, but they charge you an additional 30 days past the cancellation date, but they require you to return your key tag that gets you in the door. So you are forced to continue to pay for service you cannot fully use. I feel this is a scam to make it hard to cancel. I am so not pleased with this company!!\r more
